Here you can register your interest and they will notify you when they are selling new memberships. Also the new (I think) 'membership light' is explained. Of course theres the usual price rise in membership from £30 to £33 :/

Wonder if the auto-renew will renew to the full or the light membership. Think I'll turn it off just to be safe. Why would anyone go for the 'full' membership? Its's just the 'light' one plus you'll get lots of advertising.

As long as they don't give full memberships preference over light memberships for certain games. Eg wembley final where they guarantee full membership with X credits but ballot for light memberships. Surely they wouldn't, but you never know?!

Not bothering next season, going by this season there's been absolutely no need, £27 that could go to better use...stick with the old fancard next season I think.

Maybe in the future mate? - gold, silver and bronze levels and all that shite.

Would it be that surprising to us all if they soon did a platinum membership that got you the same benefits as a STH (tickets for Finals etc) or even just guaranteed you a Final ticket for a premium yearly price?

to be honest for now the two memberships seem directly related to the surveys they sent out. There were a couple of questions on what kind of add-on benefits you'd like to see, and also about the option of not getting anything apart from tickets for about £5 less. Which is exactly what they've done with the 'light' option. Looks like they listened to the fans with this one.

I don't think I'm gonna bother until they introduce a loyalty system for all competitions instead of each competition. I like many others have over 30 games on my members card for the past 6 or 7 seasons both home  and away (europe too) and somebody who has been to 5 games all season in the FA cup is going to the final instead of me. If the ticket office are reading this and they are listening to fans then listen to what I and many others are saying about loyalty. I for one feel let down by the FA and the clubs loyalty system right now. Why should i bother with all the hassle throughout the season when I can just go to a handful of games and go to the final? Why should I pay £30 up front when others who didn't get the same benefits as me. Don't even get me started on season ticket holders loyalty, they hardly ever get more than members bar this final. The whole system needs a revamp, not just the membership options.

To be fair, the pen last year was and still is brilliant ;D Not worth extra £7 for though. If I'm going to renew, I'll just stick to the light one as I'll want if I do renew is the priority access.

You do realise that 30 games over 6/7 seasons works out at around 5 games or less per season. Why should you get priority for this seasons final because you went to 5 games 6 years ago?

Cheers. Nothing on my purchase history, but then my card had expired. Would've expected an email though if they tried to take the money and couldn't. Turned it off now, going for the light version.

Is it just me or is it a bit cheeky that they take the money off you before actually informing you about the renewal? Especially as there's a 10% increase in price, and a new option that gives you a very similar product cheaper. Maybe I'm overly picky, but wouldn't they need to tell you beforehand the contract had changed, and give you an option to opt out?

Mate, I hear you. Been to every prem league game for last 4 seasons, 13 aways this year, all carling cup for past 3 years, and 4 fa cup games this year. Missed out on the final. But, whether I agree with it or not, I'm fully aware credits are the currency that matter and I should have bought the tickets to more than likely ensure my place at wembley this weekend.

DON'T BUY A MEMBERSHIP. A 10% increase is obscene, it's vulgar, LFC you horrible greedy grabbing bastards.
I'm going to Wembley on saturday, for the third time this season, and all on a lowly fancard, it can be done.

Same here mate, I have the 5 credits in the FA Cup. Numerous home & away games on my members card plus all the Carling Cup games too.

My argument is for an aggregated credit system, not an individual one. Season ticket holders should be happy with that as they have a 19 game head start + all cup games if they opt in to the auto cup, therefore should be guaranteed any final tickets. I as a membership holder wouldn't moan at that as the fans who go to most games are the ones who deserve to go to the finals. A lot of people are missing out due to the poor credit system combined with a poor allocation. The allocation obviously being the main reason, but why should fans who have been to 5 games have priority over fans who have been to 30, 40+ games? It doesn't add up to me and I would more than welcome a change.

Is there even a priority for tickets? People seem to get tickets on just a fan card, so is there much point in any membership option?

You can only buy league tickets on a fan card when the game goes to late availability. Usually it does, but your choice might be limited. If you're not arsed about going regularly, going to league aways, or getting tickets for specific blocks at Anfield, you don't need a membership.

The other thing is that I don't think you can actually buy fancards anymore.

Fair enough. I'm a member but usually have to buy late availability for league games anyway as I can't afford to pay so much out in August when they put them all on sale. Another silly, money making idea in my eyes. As for league aways, I have used my membership with a mates fan card at the same time and that never seems to make a difference.

I think they stopped selling fan cards when they brought the "membership" scheme in.

Please please excuse my ignorance as a newbie but hubbie and son have had a fan card each for years !!! What's the benefit of purchasing this membership?  Who gets preference over cup game tickets fan card or membership or are the tickets available to either on same date??

Hope that makes sense and for everyone travelling to Wembley at the weekend - ENJOY :-). xx. !!!!!

Membership is mainly for the league. For league matches, you get to buy tickets much earlier if you're a member. If you aren't, you'll have to wait for the scraps just before the match.

For cup games, members and fancard holders have been treated roughly the same so far - i think in one sale members were grouped with seaon ticket holders, but mostly its STH in one groups and members/FCH together in the other.

Looks like they are allowing members 2 be in the auto cup scheme, not fan card holders? Not sure if this was the case this season.

I actually really enjoyed the little book they gave this season.

At a price that is £3 lower than the full membership last year? I have decided, thanks.

Obviously, me saying that this is a new way of fleecing us fans just for the right to buy a ticket was whinging, twisting everything, not sensible & probably pointless (and to introduce an ever so slightly cheaper new sub-level of membership whilst the full membership goes up 10% for fans in a recession should not be commented on).

You'd think switching to Membership Light would be simply a case of them changing a status field on your account, but no, they have to cancel your existing direct debit and then recreate stuff.  This is the latest email I've had from them:

Dear MKB

Thank you for contacting Liverpool Football Club

To change from a full membership to a light membership we would first need to set up a new direct debit. As we will no longer be setting up new direct debit accounts we will need to take payment card details from you once the 2012-13 membership is launched.

We would also advise you to cancel your direct debit with your bank as a precaution.

Once the membership has been launched you will be able to renew online or via telephone. Therefore should you be unavailable when we try to make contact, you will still be able to purchase online or on the telephone.

Thank you for your continued support

Kind Regards

Customer Experience Team

So they manage to say that they need to set up a new direct debit and that they won't be setting up new direct debits in one paragraph!
