Messi pen was a disgrace.

I mean why try to go high top right...

I know he is good but bloody hell. Surely you go low and hard.

It's always worked for me.

If it went a few inches lower everyone would be hailing his incredible composure for pulling it off. Small margins and that. He was just unlucky, you want to go high if you can pull it off because it's near unsaveable when it hits the target.

Chelsea were phenomenal tonight.  Played the game exactly the way they should have to progress through, but Barca just aren't the same team when Messi isn't delivering the goals.

I know people rate Xavi and Iniesta higher than Ronaldo but the last 3 Barca matches showed that without Messi firing on all cylinders, those two don't look anywhere near as effective.  You put Ronaldo in the Barca team tonight and he'd have won them the game.  Or at least have made Cech move about a bit more.

To be 2-0 up at home against 10 men with two fullbacks playing centrehalf they should've been laughing.  Instead, their entire team lets Ramirez run straight through for the crucial goal.  I think it was Xavi who just let him go.

Terry is, and always will be an utter prick.

In the cold light of day they'll be missing 4 first choice players through suspension, possibly another through injury against a better team (whoever gets through) either on their home ground or against a manger who knows them inside out. I know there's more than a feeling of 'name on the cup' but they're still mashive underdogsh as Schteve would say.

This. Messi orchestrates that team.

On a sidenote it really was a bit of a mistake by Pep. He knew this leg would be exactly the same as the 1st but he chose exactly the same tactics. Oh and by god do they need to buy some defenders in the summer!

People will say that Messi played shit but he actually had two assists. Goes to show you that unless Messi scores, people say he is shite. Also goes to show that when Messi is not scoring, barca are an average team. Messi makes Barca the great team that they are.

He was shit, he misplaced more passes than anybody else in the Barca team and he got 1 assist.

Could have sworn it was him who squared the ball for the first goal?

It was that wanker Alan Parry kept banging on about who squared that one.

will be very interesting going forward to see what happens with Guardiola.

If he stays then we would assume he will definitely get a new LB in and will keep tinkering playing some 343 and 334 as he did this year until he gets it right.

But what happens if he goes?  Obv they're not going to fall apart but there could be a fair bit of flux considering how many older players they have in key roles.

Barca dont play as well as they have hve ridiculous amount of posession but simply show lack of ideas for once = theyre shit

haha. Football fans really can show themselves up sometimes

theyre simply off form. Cech got the tip of his gloves to that shot from messi to turn it onto the postt.

Chelsea are through by millimeters and a huge huge amount of luck

In another week, Chelsea would have been humiliated. They were fortunate that they caught Messi off form.

It had nothing to do with Messi being off form and more to do with Chelsea getting incredibly - and i mean incredibly - lucky over the two legs. Iniesta missed a half dozen of chances to tank them in the first leg. Sanchez likewise. They got battered in both legs start to finish, and much like a lot of our performances, only fuck knows why Chelsea didn't take a hammering. Barca just were very unfortunate not to find their shooting boots. The wrong team progressed and it'll show in the final.

It's embarrasing, a bad patch of form and some unlucky results yet now they're "just an average team bar Messi". Fuck off! They'll sign a couple of players in the summer and come back stronger than this season.

At least we don't get to see John Terry holding the CL trophy, horrible bastard, but hopefully we get to see him cry again.

By the way, to whoever posted that 5th place would not get a european place if Chelsea win the CL and finish 6th, they will as there are three EC places and 1 is gone, the FA cup route would no longer apply and two would got to the PL places

Barca were very poor for the last 30 minutes after the pen. Reminded me of when Trezeguet scored two against them for Hercules. Hey... they're only human after all. Been winning a shit load of tournaments for the last four seasons, guess you cannot win em all. Chelsea defended brilliantly and took their chances.

At least Terry is denied playing in the final. Hoping Munich win it the lot now... but it will be Real won't it. Ah football.
