Our GK option for Wembley
« on: April 11, 2012, 04:05:56 AM »
So it''s obv Brad between the sticks. Who can we get on the bench?

John Achterberg? is our current GK coach

Gulacsi? is currently out on loan, a recall maybe?

A non cup tied keeper?

Farking bring Dudek back for one game!!

Anyone clarify the rules?

With Agger Johnson Suarez and Gerrard back we'll destroy them even if I'm in goal.

We have until Friday at noon to sign a non cup tied keeper. Whatever happens with Doni and  a possible appeal I think it's something we should seriously be looking into.

Someone like Slovakian International Mario Kello who ended his contract last week with Hearts after a dispute with the club would fit the bill.

Are we even going to appeal the Doni decision? Or is that to buy us time while we can play him?

Liverpool have until tomorrow at 12 to submit an appeal and the FA have to respond before the FA Cup final, teams aren't allowed to 'buy time' as I understand it.

It's worth it, even if they add an extra game to Doni's ban because Pepe would be back by then anyways.

Doni was a clear red and after Derry today won't be appealed.

The keeper on the bench should be the Academy keeper whoever that is. Gulasci is out injured last time I knew.

FA won't giver us an emergency loan and the Academy players are under 21 so don't need to be registered...

Lets hope we don't get another Red Card.

Bet we regret letting go of Hansen on deadline day aha.

Danny Ward played for the reserves in goal yesterday, signed in January. Probably be on the bench, no?

We don't need an emergency lloan. We can sign an out of contract player and he can play if he is registered by Friday at noon.

we'll appeal doni's red card so he can play or sit on the bench for the semi.  we'll lose it and lose him for a couple of games but reina will be back by then and jones will sit on the bench.

Marian Kello plays with Skirtel on the Slovakian national side. He terminated his contract at Hearts last week after a dispute.

Villa and a couple of other English teams are linked with him for next season.

Will most likely be rejected if we appeal, but Reina comes back after the Everton game so we may as well and try.

eh?

If we appeal Doni's red he (might) be able to play against Everton. We lose the appeal, he gets an extra game served aftet the Semi, but Reina's back after Everton so it doesn't matter anyway.

This is a real dilemma. Do we call for a goalie Who hasn't played but is experienced as a emergency backup or but our faith in our young prospects. I'm just glad I'm not in Kennys shoes... Well with johnson, skretl, agger, enrique as our back four there's not so much pressure for Who ever it is.

What a pickle the team are in :\.

I really do hope Jonesy does the trick. I know the D-line is capable of keeping shots off him. He just needs to last at most 120 minutes without getting hurt or sent off.

Jones will do fine. Bring one of the young keepers with us and lgive him the experience. Given that we are essentially stuck for one match I can't see the FA granting approval for a keeper anyways.

Enrique has not conceded any goals yet so he is a good candidate but I hope they bring Dudek back from retirement :D

gotta go with the young prospect. what are the chances yet another one of our keepers sees red and we actually have to use him? lol i dont even want to think about that.

You can be sure that Everton will be trying to 'rough up' Jones at every opportunity - a sly dig in the ribs at every corner - especially if we've got a young lad on the bench.
