Agreed, however it has to be said that the summer buys have been nothing short of mostly disastrous.  Carroll needs to go in the summer.  Other than that, I'm prepared to give the others more time but Carroll's attitude stinks and I am sick of it.  Take our loss on him and be done with it.  This season would have looked so, so different if we had somebody who could put the ball in the back of the net.  There have been so many games where we have lost points because we didn't have a decent striker.  We also need to sort out the CB situation.  I am all for giving Kenny the time he needs - I would give him at least another 2 years.  However, Commolli is a different story.  I think we should get rid of him.
There in lies the problem that was always going to come back and haunt the owners. Kenny can do no wrong give him time. ut commolli should be gone as the scapegoat! If you truly believe kenny had no say at all in the transfers then the man wasnt true to himself or us by being a yes man. Fact is, the team shape is ridiculous. Commolli picking the team now? dont think so.
Amazes me how if rafa got slated for rotation yet kenny does it more and also changes our formation continiously. Kenny will always be  a legend for this club and me. But, sad to say, footie has moved on and left his ideas behind. Not gonna go down the carling cup route, because we played our strongest team in every round. Its the equivalent of the prems sherpa van trophy final now. We didnt really set wembley alight with out performance either.

FSG need to totally restructure the club and put a proper project in place. CL has gone for us now for a good 4-5 seasons. Thats where we are now im afraid. Big club always. However, our romantic story of kennys return will never ever end the way so many want it to. Let him move on with possibly two cups at end of season and then a complete change of ideas, managment and struture need to be put in place.

Mark Bright is a fucknugget of the highest order and his spiteful bile should ignored at all times and treated with the contempt it deserves!!

Give Kenny his contracted time. if it doesnt work out he can retire to his garden with grace and dignity.
What we do need to get rid of is Camolli and some of that Sunday league shite he's lumbered us with!

Most sports I usually enjoy all the TV coverage outside of the event. But in football, certainly since H&G infested the club and before that the Govan cockroach started his in your face brand of tripe, I utterly can't stand most football coverage. I just watch the game, interviews and thats it.  They've always got an agenda, always a lie they want to propagate on someone's behalf.

Stelling, Collymore, Gray and those idiots like "Hold the Back Page", they're literally professional slimeballs.

Totally agree and its totally wrong.  But, Mark Bright?  Glad it has took someone of such hefty standing to tweet something about Liverpool FC's current plight.

However, the club as an whole are to blame.  After the Wigan debacle we needed to prove people wrong.  We needed 90 minutes of effort, fight and graft to prove everyone wrong.

Instead, we got 25 minutes of decent footy in which we couldn't score and then 65 minutes of, well.....nothing.

The point is, we need a statement from the club.  Someone different than Kenny to hold their fucking hands up and say we have been shite.  The only people who seem to care is Kenny and Luis Suarez.  Every fucker else falls into silence and drives home to do a few lengths of their indoor swimming pools.

I'm dreading Saturday.  A nothing game between two teams that it means nothing to.  The atmosphere will be shite and I'm expecting a shitty performance.  Much has been said that about what the fans do inspiring the players and vice-versa.  I can certainly vouch for the 'vice-versa' bit.  They couldn't give a shite and I'm fast approaching that same mentality.

Feel so sorry for those who went today.

I couldn't make it so gave my ticket to an old school mate who lives in Newcastle. I actually feel guilty, he wasn't planning on going................still waiting for the bank transfer.................... :'(

Time to man the fuck up and support this club and our manager, coz the media boys are gonna come out all guns blazing.  This is their chance to stick the knife in over the 'intelligence check' and all the other put-downs Kenny has dished out over the course of the season (loved every one). What Kenny needs right now is for the crowd to pick him up in the game against Villa - don't know how, but he needs to be reminded why he fell in love with Liverpool Football Club in the first place

This isn't about whether you think Kenny is the right man for the job or not - there'll be plenty of time to debate that in the Summer. I believe he will walk himself if he believes he's not going to bring this football club success.  Its about backing a man that has always put the club before himself

Well said. Lets get behind Kenny from now till the end of the season.

That.

He's got to weed out the dross in the summer and replace them with better talent, but that's for the end of the season.

Yep - Just hope he doesn't get stubborn and try to prove a point about any buys that haven't worked out

Kenny is not helping himself at the moment, his tactics are ordinary and the way he conducts himself with the media can often come across as arrogant. I thought walking out of the post match interview today was a pretty childish reaction to a pretty straightforward question about our form and that's not what I want to see from our manager in times like this as I would prefer him to just front up and admit our failings. I know I'll get slaughtered for criticising Kenny but questions need to be asked of him and the players. If it was anyone else in his position he would not be enjoying such support from the fans

That'd be a pretty horrific state of affairs. I remember Parry said we could afford 3 or 4 years of slump. And that after that, we'd effectively start losing the next generation of nationwide and global fans.
People might claim that Man C and Chelsea are "idiots" investing like they do. BUT, its buying exciting, elegant players that makes you a global club. We aren't gonna attract Malaysian fans or even Midlands fans if we keep buying just Adams and Hendersons, then pither around in 8th place..

INvesting isn't just "nice". Its essential. NESV are utterly wrong if they thing success is just "set up and academy and do a few statistics".

I don't blame Carroll for reacting badly to being taken off today. Poor management by Dalglish imo, but he's beyond criticism just like Suarez isn't he?

I think thats what the media are trying to portray, but Kenny isnt giving them the answers they want.

I saw a piece in the Telegraph a few months ago rambling on about Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas, then, out of no where he comes up with something on the lines of, at least his press conferences arent boring, unlike Kenny Dalglish. Then there was a big picture of Kenny in the column that had nothing to do with him.

Basic truth is, Carroll doesn't wanna be at Liverpool. I'm not angry about that. Its just like Nando didn't want to be a t Chelsea... and it shows! Its just the fucked up way the "soccer business" is.

And I cant believe how people criticise Luis. He's hardly had a break for 20(??) months? Except for the corrupt efforts of McSlime and the FA.

Fuck this lads, no, just fuckin no! If we are not scoring at one end and leaking goals the other then we need to question why. I think why is Pepe Reina having such a god awful season when time and time again keepers come to anfield and have blinders. Not saying he is only to blame but ffs we expect our last line of defence to do a bit more, dont we? Andy Carroll...........diving when only the keeper to beat, fuck right off!

Tell you what I feel totally ashamed of our team atm. No fuckin bottle and no spine and if like the post says time to battern the hatches and blindly defend the indefenceable then no,, bollocks. If our team goes down fighting with spirit then fair enough, I am sorry if I offend anyone on here it is not the reason for my post.... I think giving the likes of Mark Bright and the commentator on sky(was it tyler?) the ammunition to take the piss lies with the players on the pitch and to blindly say well we need to circle the wagons lads is just fuckin wrong. this is not good enough lads, not good enough!

How so? Even if we win the FA Cup, I'd swap that and the League Cup to win the title.

I am behind Dalglish, but not to the point of accepting without question everything he has done or does do. He's spent a lot of money on some pretty average players and a couple of good players. He's not stupid, he knows the game and he will know that most of his signings have failed. It's how he addresses that in the summer that is important.
exactly right, we can all see who needs to go, I'm hoping the ins and outs happen pretty sharpish, things agreed before the euros even, so we can get the players together at start of preseason/europa qualifying

The thing is if you asked before KO today who needed to go then I can guarantee the names Kuyt, Henderson, Downing and Adam would have been prominent.
And yet none of them started today.
Imo the biggest problem we have is that Kenny has no idea whatsoever how to best utilise the players at his disposal.

Don't think it really matters who is the helm but losing 6 from 7 is always going to generate the shit incoming from all directions. Today would of been a good opportunity to pack the midfield, play one up top and frustrate for 90 minutes to try and generate a spirited performance which ended with a point. The sides lacks confidence and looks fragile and I fear currently if we fall behind we have not got the spirit to claw our way back into the game.

Backs to the wall for a week or two but the semi final now comes with even bigger pressure.

You're right.  Its not what the thread is about.   Kenny and everyone else at the club are not beyond criticism.  But having cheap 'we bought shite in the summer' potshots won't really help the club, or anyone's state of mind.
I would like to think there will be a thorough review of the club's sporting, commercial and operational performance by FSG in the summer, as there should be.  If Kenny has missed the sporting targets set for him he will be held accountable and decisions will be made on what that means for his position.  Ditto for Ayre and others on the commercial and operational fronts.  That, in my opinion, is part of effectively running a football club business.

As a supporter - I don't give a flyer about the business side for now -  I may disagree with some of his decisions, but I will sure as hell support Kenny when he's down, because that's what I believe a Liverpool supporter should do.  And anyone who has a different opinion should take some time to read through his autobiography and then try and convince me that Kenny Dalglish does not deserve the support of every single red.

I've seen one legend hounded out of this club through a combination of shithouse journos and herd mentality fans, I'm not sure if I can continue supporting this club if that happens again because it would violate one of the very core values that drove me to support it in the first place...

nah mate that's fair enough. When are you getting a protest together to get Kenny out?

Yeah, we've had a really shit league season. No one can deny it. But tell me, how many full seasons has the man in charge had? Does he get a chance to put it right, or shall we just give him the flick?

Confidence doesn't come back overnight and we're not just a couple of players who don't have it, it's the whole squad. But if you want to pack the towel in, give the team and manager shit and the rest, feel free, but you're being very, very premature at best and stupid at worst.

I swear, what most seem to want is a sugar daddy and maureen. It's like some of you don't even give a fuck that we won something this season, which is fucktons more than most clubs do in their entire existences. You need to get over yourselves, stop thinking that we're entitled to things and learn how to lose. Yeah be fucked off for a while, i am still at a lot of that, but jesus H christ, get some perspective. Please?
And when you find yourself along the untrodden path
Remember me with a smile, a drink, a gesture or a laugh
And a toast for the man who loves every hour of every day
And a feast for the friends and faces met along way
Gratitude

Come on now

Just depresses me more than anything, really, that he's become something of a figure for jokes to be made of.

I didn't think giving Kenny the job full-time would go the way a lot on here had expected (though, of course, I hoped that they would be right), but I never would have imagined it would be like this.

Really, really dark time to be a Liverpool supporter.

Imo the biggest problem we have is that Kenny has no idea whatsoever how to best utilise the players at his disposal.

Jeesh man your breath must stink 'cause that is just bullshit.

Really, really dark time to be a Liverpool supporter.

I can think of a few more that outshine it to be honest.

Mark Bright has less medals than Igor Biscan.

He has no right to have his opinion taken seriously by anyone.

Sure, so can I and many others, but it's not really a contest to see which time is the darkest, is it?

The point is that things are not going well right now.

Yeah, you're right of course. Results this season have all been down to bad luck/ tiredness/ injuries rather than trying to fit square pegs in round holes and putting out teams who run around like fucking schoolboys.

It's bleak.
But then again it's been 18 months.
I fear sentimentality more than anything at LFC.
But Manchester United will have the braggin rights for a time to come, and thats the reality.

Why is that? We are not in danger of relegation, we are not in danger of administration, we have won one trophy this season, and we are still in competition to win another one.

...I've seen one legend hounded out of this club through a combination of shithouse journos and herd mentality fans, I'm not sure if I can continue supporting this club if that happens again because it would violate one of the very core values that drove me to support it in the first place...

I'm sure there'll be some club along sometime soon who you can support seeing as they're media darlings.
