Laurent Robert scored a cracker vs us in the FA Cup, when we won 2-1 at home, think Le Tallec might have scored for us.

That is one of the best I have seen live.

Gotta be Torres' volley from the edge of the box against blackburn a few years back. What a hit that was.

Yep I was at that one. Think Sami had equalized a couple of minutes earlier? From memory the cross shot was a bit lucky to go in but he deserved ot for the brilliant run that set up the chance.

I remember following this on ITV's version of final score and John Barnes going mental when Steve scored. Me and two mates followed suit in my living room.

I would probably have to say Erik Edman's at Anfield a few years back. One of the few goals to have ever left me speechless, came from nowhere. In terms of Liverpool goals probably Mellor vs Arsenal

I'd forgotten that Edman goal. 3 of the 4 goals in that game were out of the top drawer, but Edman wasn't too far from halfway when he let that fly.

Bruno Cheyrou (the new Zidane according to Houllier!!) scored both our goals that night. The only goal I can recall Le Tallec scoring was against Olympia Ljubljana (sorry if I've spelt this wrong) in the UEFA Cup 1st round 2nd leg at Anfield which we won 3-0 in 2003/4.

I would have been there for a number of these goals posted on Youtube. Any one of the big hit belters by Bobby Charlton in the early/mid 60's could be a candidate. Funny Bobby always seemed to love sticking it up Spurs and nearly always when attacking the Streford End goal - there's about 3 or 4 in this link below against them.

And a sweet hit out of the mud and shit at the old scoreboard (Manchester) end against Wolves at home.

There is nothing wrong with striving to win, so long as you don't set the prize above the game. There can be no dishonour in defeat. What matters above all is that the team plays in the right spirit, with the utmost skill, courage, fair play and no favour, and the result accepted without bitterness or conceit. Mine was David Thompson while he was playing for Coventry , 35 yard screamer. game finished 4-1 to us though.

Funny - Whelan for me as well, Milk Cup Final against Mancs

The combination of my age, the occassion, the opposition etc. means I always go back to that one

I know he's an absolute twat now but I disagree with that. Not one of the best ever or anything but a great goal, scored by a kid in a huge game on the world stage.

No way an over rated goal, brilliant goal. One of those goals that gives me goosebumps every time I see it.

I'd been hyping this boy up to my non Liverpool supporting mates for 6 months before the World Cup, they'd hardly heard of him, to come from nowhere to score a goal like that in front of millions watching around the world was just amazing. Fearless little fucker took a penalty in the shoot out too, and laughed after it hit the bar/post and went in.

1) Smicer v Milan - watching that now makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up

2) SG's 2nd v West Ham - a truly superhuman effort
3) Fowler v Villa at Anfield - for sheer audacity (reckon Stan still has nightmares about that)

OK its not a screamer but my best ever so far has to be Alonso's scrambled penalty goal V Milan. Was a tap in from 4 yards but no other goal in my life has made me have to sit down and catch my breath for a minute or so due to me literally half blacking out and fainting through celebration!!  :D

agree...brilliant first touch, made 2 argentina defenders look pedestrian, and unerring finish.......almost had to be scored by an inexperienced player with no fear

Maybe it was because of the view I had of it (up in the Kop near to where the old boys pen used to be).
