Everyone posting "I can't wait till Barca twats them".

Is that really the point?  Even if and when they beat them 3-0, 3-0 in the 2 legged tie, Chelsea will still have got further than anyone would've seriously predicted at the start of this back in August.

So will it be a failure when they inevitable get knocked out?

Then again this does show that making the semi's in the CL doesn't really mean anything - there's so much variance in the draw

It's just that the build up is going to be great - all the 'experts' saying how Chelsea can go through. And then watching Barca toy with them like a cat and a dying mouse.

Watching the madrid game and sahin and granero I thought worked quite well as a midfield pair. I wonder why mourinho hasn't used either of them more often and choose to run alonso in the ground instead.

I'll go one better:

Why the fuck is Ronaldo playing 90 minutes in a meaningless match like today?

He's a Rolls Royce player and yet he plays the most minutes of anyone, it makes no sense.  Would've been hilarious if he picked up a stupid calf sprain or smth today.

It's not just that you're risking him going into the run in this season, the amount of useless minutes he's played in the 3 years at Madrid have probably shaved a year of his prime off his career.

Because he's probably demanded to play 90 minutes to increase his goal scoring record. Don't agree with it but ronaldo is that sort of person that just wants to be the greatest goal scorer in europe.

See him in the last league game where he ran Higuain off the ball as he rounded the 'keeper, trying to score himself? His obsession with outdoing Messi at something would make Everton proud.

There's your answer.

SO WHAT?

Because it would be bad for business. It would be bad for business to disappoint a lot of tourists who came to the Bernabeu specifically to watch Ronaldo. Real would lose lots of money if these people decide they don't want to come again, Real gains lots of money in revenue, ad streams, picture copyrights, etc. everytime Ronaldo starts. It is the same reason Messi started in the same meaningless match in the previous round and scored five goals even when Barca had already beaten Leverkusen 3-1. MONEY TALKS.

FYI, expect something like this to happen with whoever is our star player if we are to be ever in the same situation as Madrid today or Barca in the previous round.

Chelsea may have been shite this season, but they seem to be finding form under Di Matteo. Also, they will still remmeber getting robbed against Barca 3 seasons ago in arguably the worst robbery I have seen in my years of watching football. I hope Barca absolutely twat that them, but I see Chelsea sneaking through via karma from three years ago.

How would it? For us, of course, but there's no glamour in that match.

I shudder even thinking about it, playing that lot in the CL final is the stuff of absolute nightmares.

First time i've seen that. Ridiculous, insulting to his teammates in all honesty, the fact he throws his arm in the air after asif there was some kind of role reversal going on is insane.

I've never liked him but i can appreciate his commitment and dedication to the sport, not many seem as dedicated as him but things like this are pathetic, couldn't help but going mad at him for something like that

Same.

Not sure if I'd feel that way if it wasn't being held in Munich.

I remember the loss in the 96 FA Cup final feeling bad enough, especially as it saw them be the first team to do the 'double double'.  But losing to them in a European Cup final with Demento in charge would be horrible beyond anything you can imagine.  We'd probably never live it down.

All those who claim Chelsea has no chance, clearly sports betting odds don't agree with you.

And I don't call winning with a 93rd min goal was "with ease"
