When did they start using nets ?
« on: March 12, 2012, 03:00:34 PM »
Hi.I'm doing a presentation about football rules for my business class. Its about rules & norms in football and I noticed that despite the fact fifa doesnt't have requirement for use of nets, they are used in games.I was wondering if anyone knows when did they introduce em ? Which game ? Thanks in advance for your inputs :)

In 1882 all clubs had to provide crossbars. Ten years later goal nets became compulsory. This reduced the number of disputes as to whether the ball had crossed the goal-line or passed between the posts.

I hate nets. Nothing better than fighting the shit out of each other because of disagreeing about whether a ball was in or not.
It's just sex and violence, melody and silence.

Conversly, there is no better sound than a ball hitting the back of the net.

As bad as it sounds, the best ever sound is when you hear the net ripple, and the slight pause before the away fans cheer.

Probably followed about the 3rd installment of this conversation:

'Fuck off that was in'

'Was it fuck, well wide mate'

'Penalty about it'

'fuck that'

Me and me mate did a presentation on football when we were in school years ago.

Whatever you do, dont let some stupid bitch drag you into explaining the offside rule to her.

We had to draw diagrams on the blackboard. I think she did it on purpose.  Slag.
Holy shit-sauce, we've got ourselves a crimp-off

It seems throw-in's used to taken by one hand only.Wonder when did they change that rule..Also does anyone remember when did they introduce an opponent must stand at least 2 metres away from the thrower rule ?

Are you looking to lure them in with your understanding of their behaviour?

That's a rule? It didn't exist when I played in my youth teams about 10 years ago
