Just watched this week's episode after recording it. Michael had to go; he's out of his depth as Sir Alan said. But I don't think they would've won the task even if he'd taken the order for 1.95 per bottle. Didn't the other team beat them by nearly £600? They didn't have enough bottles to sell to catch up. So really, it was Ricky's production team that failed the task. But Michael's sales pitch was diabolical, and then the sob story about how he wasn't born with a gold spoon in his mouth and "there are a lot of educated people here" didn't do him any favours. You can't go on this show with such a massive chip on your shoulders. And they should know by now never to go into the boardroom with sob stories ... Like that Irish girl last week trying to get sympathy by talking about how her son was crying. Diabolical.
I love Katie. She's got a level head on her shoulders and she's smart. And its nice to see a woman who can lead without screaming her head off, backstabbing fellow team mates, or being otherwise unbearable. She's a top girl and it's just a shame she's been on the losing team three weeks in a row. Hope the streak comes to an end next week because I really hope she stays until the end.
This is the first in a long time that I've seen the better team (with the better product) winning the task.
But that Irish girl is a capital b*tch and I don't see myself warming to her in the near future. Good on her for making sure they tasted the product, but I hated how she was constantly complaining, criticising and trying to undermine Dwayne instead of just applying herself and getting the job done like a proper team player. She opposed everything from the beginning, constantly implying that she had better ideas/incontrovertible gut feelings and that were going to fail the task. She didn't like the Chutney idea (because the market is "saturated") but it ended up being a good tasting product that sold quite well. So she was made to look like a fool there.
And then at the end she seemed almost disappointed her team won. That's unforgivable. I hope she's fired soon ... Or maybe there could be a final between her and Katie. The whiny, incompetent brunette versus the statuesque blonde bombshell. That would be worth watching for sure. No way this show is about business.
