You'll be wanting to discuss this when it comes out in April.

Co-written by Joss Whedon, The Cabin in the Woods debuts at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas tomorrow.

My review is embargoed until then but this film is................

Nice to see it's finally getting released.
You have posted literally nothing of substance to flame about.  Your "points", and I dread to call them that, were superficial and completely arbitrary.  Nothing you said could be argued against because nothing you said elaborated a position of any kind.

Lionel Blair is a legend! Awesome.

Here is my review: http://the-void.co.uk/film/review/cinema/first-look-cabin-in-the-woods-256/

If you download this movie I will hunt you down and put you in a dungeon, Saw VIII style :)

I guess Joss Whedon will survive if you download this but the movie will be much better in a cinema, preferable at midnight  8)

Watched it on Saturday. I was entertained and it was pleasing to see something a bit different. Compared to true classics like Omen or Hellraiser, it was weak.

Really looking forward to this. I like films with a twist. And this film really looks to be as twisty as a giant twisty turny thing full of old boardgames called Twister that had been through a mangle.

I saw this on Friday, via the traditional medium of cinema.

Was ok, had a 15-20 spell in the late middle / early end when it got a bit silly in my opnion.

Not bad though, I'd give it 7/10.

This is fantastic. Went in fairly un-spoilered and I was blown away. I can't remember the last time I was as surprised and caught up in a horror film.

A truly unique film as well as being funny, smart and a little scary.

I hadn't realised how close its release date is to Joss Whedon's other little film.

I really enjoyed it although the trailer gave far too much away and ruined the twists. The twists were also too soon in the film. Definitely a really good, original film though. One of those where even though you know something bad is about to happen you still jump. I watched at the cinema, it's probably crap on download.

Just got back from seeing this.  Really enjoyed it, although did spend a long time trying to work out where i'd seen the stoner before.  Turns out it was Dollhouse, by Josh Whedon.

Best movie I've seen in a while. Love a good horror movie and playing with the genre in the manner this movie does was very interesting.

Funny, gory, suspenseful.....and absolutely insane. I loved it.

Bit of a bump, but only got around to watching this.

I had been recommended it by a friend, who like me, isn't a huge "horror" fan. He didn't give anything away, and I never saw any of the trailers, he just said "Watch it, it is different..."

And I will give him that.

Judging by the posts in here, horror fans loved it. And I guess that would be the case. It plays by the rules, but breaks them at the same time. You will know what I mean if you have seen it.

For me though, as a non horror fan, I would say it was a nice refreshing change to the types of films I normally watch. Some really deep hidden meanings in there .

I would say to people give it a go. No it isn't the greatest blockbuster of all time, nor is it filled with Oscar winning performances. But it is entertainment, and well worth a watch.

i didn't see it as a typical film, it was a homage to all horror films, nothing more.

Brilliantly enjoyable film though!
