Ironic humour my arse. You, Walshys Mullet and Twelfth man were all sitting at home watching the match on a black and white portable with the sound off to make the mood more sombre, with cyanide capsules buried in your teeth and pre-written "Kenny OUT" banners in case we lost, yer gang of shitehawks.

Ah ok whoosh. Damn I need bed :)

No. Just tuesdays and summer solstice for me. Fair play.

I don't step in and ruin an ideal opportunity for someone to make a complete fucking mump of themselves though. You've completely fucked that up now. He's still trying with each response though, bless him.
That was quality, you should of asked him his opinion on the beautiful people and chicks with big tits while you were at it ;)

Winning. I think we forgot how good it felt.

Before the game the rational, calculating part of me said a top 4 finish was preferable. I'd take that back now. I honestly wouldn't trade a group stage for the tonne of emotions I've felt today.

I wonder what that one guy who was shitting all over the carling cup as a competition is feeling right now.  can't remember who it was but it was someone here on rawk.  he doesn't deserve to feel as good as he's probably feeling.

I just loved how it was won... it made me sit down and see how good are some of the players some of us seem not to appreciate. Happy days are slowly coming back.
Ashley Williams: "I wanted to hit Luis Suarez". "Having played against him twice now I just have to say that I don't like the bloke. Basically I have no time for the guy at all." LFC target? I hope not. I would rather deal with Suarez on daily basis than bad dressing room.

Absolutely thrilled for all those young reds who had their first taste of silverware today. Whilst 6 years without a trophy is a long time by LFC standards, as an adult it's gone by very quickly, Istanbul and Cardiff still seem so fresh in the mind. It was only at the start of the week I realised that this would be our first cup final since my two boys were born and my daughter was only 3 the last time we played in one. As someone who doesn't get to the match anymore this was only the second final I've missed in nearly 25 years. But watching the final at home with the kids and seeing them all cheer together was a special moment indeed. And seeing those kids in the crowd at Wembley today really hammered the point home. So here's to all the little reds watching their first final today, wherever they were. Let's hope it's the first of many more to come for them.

Kwality!!! Love to hear of this.

Young nephew visted home for the 1st time Christmas passed.
He attended a couple games. Managed to get Dirk's autopgraph sometime during the holiday.
He was louder than the adults watching when our fav Dutch man scored.

We learned from our Da & Uncles.

The tradition continues. Long may that be so.

Great post.  First trophy since my son was born as well.  He said to me yesterday that Liverpool were great.  That was the first time he's said something like that without me brainwashing him.

Great first post Juan, but on reflection I'm not sure I care for the title, seeing as we apparantly didnt win it, as penalties dont count, it opens us up to those tiresome 'feeving skaaace cants' jibes, as we seemingly continually get our hands on silverware thats not rightfully ours or earned.

Our last 2 home games in this competition have ended 2-2.
"My coach told me to warm up just before the break. He told me I was going to take care of Kaka. I didn't think it was possible to turn things around but in the dressing room at halftime Rafa Benitez was calm - "We are Liverpool FC, we have so many fans, we are not going to be slaughtered. If we can score a goal quickly we push on from there.""

And the FA acted in our favor - they knew we had a better away record and gave us away games all the time, except when it was unavoidable in the home and away round.

If there's one thing that makes the winning truly sweet it's watching rival fans trying to put the achievement down.  Especially those who have won f-all for years and somehow try to rationalise this is a piece of silverware that is beneath them in the great scheme of things.

That was probably the best thing I have ever read anywhere.

And I don't care if we can have 39 shots and 19 crosses and only score twice.  And I don't care if our second penalty was one of the worst ever know to man.  And I don't care that our 35 million pound striker is lard.

The cup is ours for a year.  And now we want more.

Fuck me, just look at the shots, 39 to 11, 19 vs 7 on target and corners, 19 vs 3 and that tells you all you need to know.  Well done Cardiff, oh plucky Cardiff. But the trophy ended up in the right place.

Possession 65% in our favour too according to Sky Sports. Fuck Cardiff.

Another reason i've got little sympathy for them is their road to the final, take a look.

Round 1 - Beat Oxford United away 1-3 after extra time
Round 2 - Beat Huddersfield Town 5-3 after extra time
Round 3 - 2-2 vs Leicester after extra time, won 7-6 on pens
Round 4 - Beat Burnley 1-0
Quarter Final - Beat Blackburn 2-0
Semi Final - 1-1 on aggregate after extra time, won 3-1 on pens

Hardly been a tough ride for a team with Premier League aspirations, they seemed to have just plodded along with a bit of luck and found themselves in the latter stages. Biggest team they beat was Blackburn who couldn't give a toss about the competition given their current league standing.

I can tell you one thing for free. Winning on sunday was such a better feeling than losing in Athens. Unless we won the european cup I would rather win the carling cup every year.
