The strange thing is, even if he had scored tonight, you would still get that feeling that he would just go on another long draught. That would have been unthinkable during his time at our club. He just used to do it. He used to put the ball in the net and didn’t think too much about it.
Torres is just another example of why you shouldn’t leave a good thing when you have it. I honestly believe that certain players belong to certain clubs. It’s embarrassing for him. The media and fans now make fun of him. A few seasons ago he was the most feared striker in Europe.
He looked very sullen at the final whistle too. He isn’t starting enough games and isn’t really that important to Chelsea. All in all, I suspect that he will leave this summer. It would be interesting to see where he ends up. A fair few clubs will be in for him, and he has a chance to rediscover himself.
