Bojan is not a player to head the ball in, he would be smallest player in the barca team, the guy hasnt scored for fun at Roma, hes not even hit double figures there

Villa is a big loss, I know people say he's off form etc or whatever, but the guy is world class and has been for a long time now, Golden boot at Euros, joint top scorer at world cup, spanish record goalscorer, he is a goal machine.

Barca bought a player who has aerial strength in Ibrahimovic, it didnt work out.

and Eto'o could've been useful too !!

They might be better off promoting whoever is in charge of Barcelona B like they did with Pep.

Pep wants Bielsa to follow him doesnt he? I'm pretty sure Rossell who is doing his best to convince Pep to stay on (Pep's been a big part of Rossell's successful presidency you have to say) will probably heed Pep's advice.

fucking hell if we get Txiki as a DOF this would start a huge rumour mill :D

We don't need any other DOF as Royhendo was mentioning, we already have the best DOF for LFC at the club.

Would be very interesting to see if Pep does decide to leave(his confirmation is due tomorrow).

Would he decide to take an year off?- But that would be highly unlikely as most of the clubs would be lobbying for him. NO words are permanent in football. Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas said he wants to win the CL with Porto and take Porto to the 'next' level, one year on he is jobless. Pep might just consider if a great project comes along.

Now what would be the high profile clubs looking to hire Pep-

Chelsea- He has already rejected them
Man City- Looks like he'll go the Alexis Sanchez route here
Inter Milan- I believe he might consider, again depends if he gets a good transfer kitty as he likes young players with potential to mold them and clearly looking at the Inter squad clearly he would need a squad overhaul here. Depends on what Moratti *promises.
Man Utd- Looks like SAF would be staying for atleast another 2-3 years.
England- Had to bring it up for the sake of it. Would be shocking if he chose to be England manager(my personal guess-however might take over just for the Euros)

That leaves Liverpool- He has already spoken positively about us re academy, there is a youngish squad he can mold, with good owners(most of us think they are good anyway)

Let me know if I have missed out on any other team that could possibly hire Pep.

It has already been widely documented that our owners are in favor of young, 'hungry' managers. Another point to note is Pep has always signed 1yr contracts with Barca, would be interesting to see what he does with his next club. Don't think it would really work out with LFC if he is only willing to sign a 1 yr contract.

On the other hand, as for Barca interesting point that they could promote the Barca B manager (IF he is good enough that is). If he is, they are nurturing managers the way they are nurturing players which is a very, very interesting concept.

As daft as it sounds, the whole no plan B thing does carry some weight. They ran out of ideas with chelsea sitting deep. On a different level - but it felt like watching Liverpool there the other night, for all the huff and puff, you just knew they were never going to brake that house down.

Llorent to Barca this year to offer them something different perhaps.

Llorent to Barca this year to offer them something different perhaps.

So they then play a completely different game, and "Plan B" actually becomes "Plan A".

Or Llorente, at a cost of 50million and a salary of 6 million, sits on the bench for all but the 120 minutes per season when they need "Plan B"

I assume that's why they went for Ibrahimovic a few of years back. You did sense from about the hour mark that Chelsea could well dig in and see it through. As I said then, that Ramires goal changed the whole complexion as they had something to hold onto for 45 minutes. If they'd tried to come out and play any sort of attacking football they'd have probably been carved open on the counter.

Llorente can fit into Barca's plan A at a good enough standard imo.

Barcelona are a long long way from being 'past it'.  a few bad games, nothing more.

Knowing how harsh these clubs can be I wouldn't put it past them sacking Guardiola... stupid but I wouldn't put it past them.

Llorente can fit into Barca's plan A at a good enough standard imo.

Eto'o, Ibrahimovic and Villa, three of the world's top strikers, all got moved out of the centre to accommodate "Plan A".

So either Llorente plays on the wing, or it's no longer "Plan A"

I can't see him going anywhere else right now if he does leave, he probably will take some time out. He seems knackered. I'm not convinced he'd be successful anywhere else in all honesty, everything is set up for him to succeed at Barca and the club is part of him.

Ballague has said that Guardiola asked to walk away at the end of the season and Barca have said to him to think about it for a day or two.

The press conference tomorrow will announce the decision. He also wants to take a year long sabbatical.

No he won't, he'll be on sabatical. Have you seen the state of pep compared to when he took over at barca. He's gained so much weight and he has lost all of his hair. He looks physically drained and its pretty well noted if he leaves he'll take a few years off.  Management is a stressful career and it can have adverse effects on your health. Just look at rafa he looks nothing like he now compared to istanbul.

No.

Bielsa or Blanc will go there. Blanc being a ex-barca player and Bielsa who would continue to philosophy that is already there. They are part of the three man shortlist they have drew up.

They'd be mad to go for Rafa. He's a madrid man and he's been out of work for ages. He needs to rebuild his career and Barcelona is certainly not the place to do it.
