Had a quick look into the permission thing. Wembley regs state "Permission must be sought in advance from the stadium and event owner to arrange use of the very large supporter flags that are designed to be passed over people's heads. In such cases the flag must be flame retardant and the organiser bringing the flag into the stadium will need to provide the appropriate H&S certification."

Doesn't say who to contact though. Their contact information does say "You will be required to put any specific requests in writing to;
Wembley Stadium,
PO Box 1966,
London,
SW1P 9EQ"

Given how little time there is, might be worth someone ringing them up and asking - 0844 980 8001 is the main number.

I'd be up for helping, but I'm over in 118 in the corner.

Smokin' Joe looks great. I'd leave out the Shankly Gates though. Would make it less cluttered.

Scud - my post should have said it IS 2:1 and should be 6:4 (3:2) This one is approx that at 6137 x 4073. Did it by eye so probably not spot on, but that's fine.

EDIT: I just cropped the sides!!

Get it printed at 2.4Metres wide with proportionate height (they should know this) and you'll be fine.

Sorry mate, obviously this post got missed, as we discussed the banner should have been 6:4 (or 3:2 if you prefer) sure we mentioned that it ought to be 150% x 100% on the phone when we spoke on Sat though? My revised version also had the the 3:2 dimensions. From your order confirmation, you've still got a long thin banner at 2:1.

Aaah too late to change it now, so let's see what it looks like in real life. Let's hope they don't stretch it too much when they print it - mind you I suppose they have to or it'll be stuck in the middle of a banner that's too long and with large empty spaces on either side!!

I guess it's my fault for not re-reading my post before clicking 'POST' the first time - although in my own defence I thought we were clear when we spoke. All good though, it should be fine, and that Charlotte made the same mistake with ours too, she may get back to you once the 'studio' has a look at it (as we encouraged her to do!).

Fagan - like the idea, think the pic is too low res and needs to be clearer definition. His face is blurred \ a grey blob and the cup looks drawn \ cartoonish. Also - I don't like the font (too robotic) but I'll leave the wording to others to decide.

The acid test is that a banner ought to be clear and get the message across from between 30 and 100 metres away and I think that it currently might just look like a grey banana in front of a grey blob from the other end of the ground or the halfway line (where camera's are).

P.S. If you're getting Flagmakers to make it, it doesn't need to be as limited in terms of graphics etc as they print in CMYK (aka full colour printing) so can have whatever colours you like on it!!

Well I'm waiting to hear from the studio so when I do, I will send him a fixed version. Regarding Joe Fagan, it's hard to find a high resolution image of him, will need to look around some more, it's only a prototype for him anyway, still a long way to go before it's set in stone.

I'm in Block 110, I've got another mate in the same block and four others I'm unsure which, but I've sent em a text......anyone else in 110 on here who'd give us a hand??

I can get the van from work and collect and drop-off, just need to know if there are any specifics I need to know re releasing it aside from use common sense?

Not been to the New Wembley (obviously) but I presume there is no segregation between the blocks so anyone from blocks 108 - 115 could help?

As per his post @ 17:10 Kister has contacted Wembley re H&S approval which we need before doing anything else, so will hang fire until he gives us a shout.

I can collect it as can Confiamos so I think we're in good shape.......

The club have stated that Carling Cup officials are only allowing one surfer. That will be Franks Surfer no doubt. Lets hope we do it for the FA cup. =/

They have the artwork, they've taken payment details, I just need to confirm the preview in the morning and they're going to produce it and get it to me for the weekend.

Can't wait.

I'm a bit pissed off though as those 4m telescopic poles are now out of stock, on that other site.

I do have a plan-B, though.

Came to £157.81 in the end which means still have £220 remaining, trying to get a Fagan banner done but trying to get a decent image of the gentlemen that he was is proving hard. Trying to upscale an image in Photoshop and try to sharpen it but I'm hopeless at Photoshop, would need a pro like J-Mc to have a look. Not out of stock here mate:

You need to order longer poles than what you actually need. This is because the top peices are far too thin for banners. So 4 metre poles will not do, if your banner is 3 or 4 metres high.

Search for "extendable pole" and "telescopic pole". Amazon Prime's one-day (or two-day here in the US) shipping is amazing if you need something ordered and delivered fast.

Glad to hear mate, regarding the Joe Fagan banner, we simply will need a larger image of Joe for it to look good, at the moment I think Joe is too blurred and you wouldn't be able to distinguish him from far away, he would look like a big grey blob. If anyone out there has a large image of Joe please PM me it but for the time being it looks like a Joe banner won't be made unfortunately.

Mate, not trying to put a dampener on things but do you realise that those poles are only 2mm diameter at the top? It will be like holding 2 fly fishing rods with a banner on the end of them. I don't think it's gonna work.
