It wasn't a serious suggestion mate.
I only suggested the stripping of titles because others had said that the joy from winning titles did not compare with the despair of seeing their club relegated or made insolvent. I took this to mean that fans should be allowed to enjoy the trappings that reckless spending brings without being 'punished' by having to see their club penalised with relegation/exclusion. That just doesn't wash for me. Everyone's in it together. As that infamous Peter Ridsdale put it, the club has lived the dream and got to the top, everyone revelled in it. Now it's time to pay up and there should be no excuses, no matter how many hurt feelings there will be.
Fans are fans, not financial experts or directors. I realise there's no getting away from what has been done in your club's name as far as consequences go, but that does not mean that fans deserve to be considered as part of it, fans are the victims in a situation like ours and that should always be noted for me.
Do you really think fans like ours should have had the foresight to not celebrate winning trophies because it should have been known what was coming? There's no way that's fair, the most fans can be aware of is how high the debt level is, but the likes of Man Utd and Barcelona have high debts, in David Murray we had one of Scotland's top businessmen so it wasn't delusional to assume that he'd have it all under control, and this EBT situation was a total unknown.
I don't expect Rangers to be let off on the basis of the supporters, but I'll always take great exception to any suggestion fans deserve this kind of situation.
