Divide et impera
« on: February 12, 2012, 04:00:52 PM »
Meaning divide and conquer or divide and rule.

Dont let the actions of others divide this club.

Dont let the words of others divide this club.

When the club is being attacked from all quaters there is only one course of action to be taken.

Support your club and dont let it walk alone.

We need to sing loud and proud for kenny and Suarez against Brighton and Cardiff and show the team they are not alone.

As loud as possible. Think Brighton support is vital for how we approach the final.

Let's all support the club, the manager and players.

Spot on.

We need to put this fuckin horrible mess behind us, unite, and support a manager and team that must be mentally battered.

So much to play for between now and the end of the season. Everyone associated with the club needs to focus on winning our remaining matches.

Why didnīt ferguson criticise us while we had Hodgson, why the media loved us then and backed Hodgson? becouse we were near relegation zone FFS.

Now with the team getting good results.... REMEMBER OUR DEFENCE IS ONE OF BEST IN THE LEAGUE.... and with having one of most talented strikers in the world, they again start to come out of their closet and try to do everything to make us look bad... I admit Suarez is passionate player, but does his non proven racism is worse than physical damadge of Keane vs. the guy with broken leg? or other shit that was never questioned by Ferguson? is it? i donīt think so...

FA made a test on how they donīt accept racism and they made that statement to whole world by giving our player 8 match ban.. after the ban itīs nobodyīs buisiness anymore if the player shake or not shake hands...

We have to accept that untill we are going to win matches, the frustration of the oposite rivals, especially united will grow...remember Rafa comments on Ferguson? he was worried back then, worried to much i think..

also the oposite, if we give up, itīs start of the end...

Kniki, i really do understand  the sentiment. But this approach of unity must come from the owners. Whats the point of the fans, players and football management being unified if the owners are simply going to undermine any unity by bottling it in order to "protect the brand".

The reality is we as fans now face a torrent of abuse for standing by our club and one of our own. There is nothing new there some might say, and this would be spot on. difference now is we cant defend ourselves in any way as that right has just been withdrawn with the three statements released.

Basically it is now fair game to call us racists, along with murderers, robbers etc etc, and there is very little we can do apart from accept it. I for one feel great sense of injustice with the whole incident going back to october and now we cant even defend or rebut these comments as the club has basically said to media and any other fucker - "we yield to your opinion, you were right we were wrong"

This in my opinion sets a really dangerous precedent for this club. But its ok as long as the dollars keep rolling in, after all that's all that seems to matter, not justice, fairness just the 'brand'.

The truth is FSG are in very high level sense, no different to H&G. They are not interested in protecting the club, its players and fans in the truest sense, just its balance sheet.
Perception is nine tenths of reality

Lets make things clear.  Seeds have been planted. "This is a pr disaster for the club" and "The club will lose sponsorship".  The question is who first bedded those seeds, and who's now watering them and who's reaping the benefit of them taking root?

I say again, stand firm, support the club and dont let others divide us.

I think perhaps for the Brighton game and all games thereafter for ever & evra we should sing a non stop sorry song. If we could accompany this with a bowing and scraping dance routine whilst flogging the fan in front it may placate the clubs detractors?
If you ask Smalling and Brown if they'd rather play Suarez or Carroll, they'd say Suarez all day long, because he's not going to bully them or run in behind them.

In all honesty I don't blame the owners, they have to protect the club and its image in the long term and these statements are the only way now to put this matter to bed.  Obviously its horrible having to watch as the club, once again, bend over and take one from the media, the mancs, the FA and every other fucker with an opinion but if we keep fighting its only going to get worse. We will lose sponsors, which means we lose money and for a team with apirations of Champions League football and silverware thats disasterous in the modern game.
I'm hoping that behind closed doors, something similar to the OP has been said to the players, if,we can't adopt an us against the world mentality after the last few months then we never will, because that's exactly what it is at the moment, everyone hates us and worst of all, old whiskey nose has played a blinder in spurring it all on.
Everyone hates us and I for one don't give a shit and nor should any other lfc fan, now is the time to move forward under one banner, get behind the club like only lfc fans can and unite as one and show the watching world that they'll never bring us down.

I completely agree. But we are not the only victims of this. Every football club is, but we are easy prey. We're all in this together, and I include Manchester United fans in that statement. The media are poisoness - most Liverpool fans KNOW this. There IS an agenda, but for me it's about educating others who can't see it. It's about shining a light on these bastards, exposing them for what they are. You open your eyes, you see the world for how it really is in a wider context.

Andrew Heaton spoke well when he said "form your own opinions, don't take things at face value, and don't be told what to think". That's spot on advice.

We look like cowards.

we look like cowards by not facing the truth and looking for anyone to blame except those responsible

we led the fa and united to believe Suarez would shake Evra's hand - he didn't - yes Evra made it difficult but if Suarez tries to shake his hand, as he did with Ferdinand  then Evra becomes the bad guy - he didn't - I can understand a spare of the moment reaction to Evra, his face, his hand position but unfortunately it was a mistake and its undermined Suarez, Kenny and the club.

you have no evidence at all about the owners - its pure speculation yet you are ready to condemn them while at the same time blaming the FA for shredding Suarez with no evidence.

it takes courage to apologise especially in a situation like this - the club have done that and in doing that taken a step forward rather than backwards

nobody has been hung out to dry - the facts have been faced and people have taken responsibility for their actions - its a sign of strength not cowardice -

the idea it means the media own us is a travesty of the truth - it means we know and respond when we are wrong - so if we say something in future - people can believe its what we believe to be true not dogma or blind faith. This should be what the club is about not some of the fanatacism seen on here.

This can be turned to a positive if we genuinely want it to be but it looks like many prefer the smell of burning matyr.
The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie — deliberate, contrived and dishonest — but the myth — persistent, persuasive and unrealistic.

Nobody wants to apologise, least of all to Manchester United, and after all that's happened.  I just think we haven't handled this thing, as a club, well.  That's not a slight on any one individual.

I think in the long run, putting this thing to bed, even if that means an apology, will be seen as the right decision.
