I feel fucking ashamed and embarrassed by the actions of the owners of Liverpool Football Club today, every bit as much as when H&G were here. At least we knew what c*nts they were. This has come as a complete surprise to me, the cowardice is astonishing.

Oh dear.
No, jazz. You fear jazz. You fear the lack of rules, the lack of boundaries. Oh look, it's a fence. But, no, it's soft.

It's a good trade-union philosophy based on collective responsibility. You talk the thing over in private, people air their points of view, you have your disagreements behind closed doors and you agree on a collective policy. That's what happened and Luis signed up to it - he would shake the hand of Evra. Come the day he winged it and went off on one. Now he's been brought to book.

Unless we think he's somehow bigger than the club and free to enact his own policy no one should grumble.

Watch the video again in proper speed , Luis was never gonna shake his hand.
I know this because the lad has admitted it.
Surely thats enough to persuade you ?
Or was he told to say that ?
Luis kept his hand on the same level throuhout, he didnt move it away from Evra, he kept it on the same line.. but there was no hand there.. am i wrong?

By not shaking the hand of a liar, someone who has tried and succeeded in ruining his career? Yeah, OK.
No, by telling the club he was going to do it and then reneging.  But don't let the truth get in the way of your defence of a player over the manager.

What more can they do to us?

Not a lot really - but I'm sure they will try

But as a club we must know that we need to improve in situations like this.  It's been a really poor show from the word go.  It's like the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing.

Evra should come out now and say he accept the apolgy and state that the whole sorry incident(s) are behind them both

Except the apology wasn't directed at Evra - it was for the manager and the club.

Maybe RAWK should issue a collective apology on behalf of all Liverpool fans for celebrating the Suarez goal yesterday? It was bang out of order.

 :butt

I feel sick. A little bit of the club has died today and Im worried about where the club goes from here and the damage that has been done.  The owners have hung out our star player and legendary manager, to dry. I wouldn't be surprised if neither were here next season. A truly sad day.

Today's statements have now brought closure to the whole Suarez/Evra storybook! Let's just close this and any other related threads and concentrate on what happens on the pitch. There are far too many johnny come lately's, WUM's and Tom Peppers clogging this site. I feel for the mods at times like this.

You think so?  Has it fuck.

Fucking Mr Ferguson now sees he has the clout to make even Dalglish roll over an take whatever his master decides.

He'll consider the whole thing as more confirmation that not only are we off the perch, most people don't even know there ever WAS a fucking perch.

Expect him to go on and fuckinmg ruin us every fucking half chance he gets. And raucously cheered by every c*nt at the FA and in the media. Now it seems our hierarchy want to give him a helping hand.

Its fucking ghastly.

It's not about shaking his hand, it's about telling the club and manager he would do it and then change his mind. I'm sure Suarez has his reasons and I understand that, but while he wears our shirt in a match he needs to put the club first.

Suarez's statement was enough

I really can't agree with needing a public statement from anyone else, particularly as I feel Luis will probably face internal discipline.

If this is FSG's idea of PR, it's not going down too well with the majority on here.
Agree. The media twist and turn everything we say or do, I'd wish we'd just shut up and not give them anything.

Tempted to let the club know how disapointed I am with them not showing any spine.

Exactly. This is the way I see it: Luis was programmed to shake Evra's hand. He approached Evra, may or may not have seen Evra's drop of his hand, but his human emotions took over as he faced Evra and thought "this bast@rd stitched me up, I don't want to shake his hand". That is totally allowed in my book, and I thought Ayre would have said something on those lines. Afterall, the club was totally convinced Luis never racially insulted Evra.

Anyone saying Luis intended to shake Evras hand are calling our manager and our club liars. Therefore, they can fuck off. It just isn't acceptable.

Before you say "its the PR crazy owners who have forced these statements" - Kenny would simply not accept it. He's a stronger person than any of us. You're insulting him. Stop. It.

Sometimes you have to do things not because they are needed, necessary or right, but because to not to do will give dickheads more ammunition. We fucked up with our initial statement on this matter by not backing up our understandable annoyance. We backed down, and we will now forever be at the behest of the media.  They ask us to jump, we ask them to check with Mr. Ferguson to find out the required height we should be jumping.

Aye. Now we have backed down, we must always back down. if we don't then the media will rightly say "Er. You backed down. You admitted you were completely in the wrong. Are you taking that back?"

Again I'll ask. Its taken 3 statements today, was that really required? Joint statement from LFC & Suarez would have made sense. 3 separate statements says to me that this isn't a united front imo.

Is it us they're that concerned about though? We'll come back next week regardless, but sponsors? Our public perception? Our 'brand'? Seems as if this was done with all of that in mind.

Pandering to the corporates, yeah, you're probably right but at the end of the day they need to keep the fans on side too, it's a fine balance.

Luis released a prepared statement inline with what the club and he agreed to say to keep the peace .

This is what he said after the match however:

@luis16suarez
Luis Suarez
We lost and we are sad because we have made a big effort... Disappointed because everything is not that it seems...

Does that statement reveal any inclination that he felt he was stitched up again?

What was the alternative?

Suarez was well out of line and has brought the club into public disrepute, seriously damaging our manager in the process. One way or another that had to be acted upon

How about grow a fucking spine and stand up for ourselves for a change instead of bending over and taking it up the fucking hoop as we always do?
Matter should have been dealt with behind closed doors and if Kenny felt Suarez had let him down then it would have been sorted in-house.
But no, we have to grovel like the fucking cowards we are and fucking humiliate ourselves in public.
This club and the owners have fucking embarrassed thousands of loyal supporters today and I wont fucking forget it.

To me, I'd have refused to shake his hand before and I'd have made sure that the club knew this and that the message was passed on to the FA.  I fully understand his actions.

However, Kenny had been 'told' that he would shake his hand.  By whom?  Luis or another numpty working at LFC.

If you are going to shake his hand then it should have been made clear that he was to make a clear gesture to shake Evra's hand.

Oh my God. I can't believe what I am reading. To literally see something that never occurred goes beyond mere support of a club or a player, especially after aforesaid player has come out and admitted he was in the wrong.

No, by lying to our manager who btw has risked his own reputation to back Suarez to the hilt.

Had Luis been honest about this we could have taken steps to stop this situation arising. Instead he, Kenny and the club all come out of this looking like c*nts.

From this point on the honeymoon with our new owners is over. The first real crisis they have had to deal with since the initial takeover of the club and they've shit themselves and cow towed to the fucking media, demento, the FA and all the other areholes attacking the club.

They've left the manager hang out to dry, one of our players and us - the fans, we are now fair game for any c*nt who wants a pop. Im fucking disgusted with their spineless approach to this whole situation - weak as diluted piss.

From now on the goodwill credits in the bank with FSG have been withdrawn. Infact Im so disgusted by thier lack of leadership and fight Im seriuosly considering fucking football off all together. The relality is it simply is isnt fun anymore and I dont really give toss about it given the whole Thicks and Gillet and now this.

Unless we think he's somehow bigger than the club and free to enact his own policy no one should grumble.

spot on there yorky.
