Sit back and play them on the break, they need the points to stay with City and will be desperate, and we now can break with the best of them with Bellamy/Suarez. Big Andy on the bench in case we need to lob it in late.
What is called for is dignity. We need to set an example.

Carroll shouldn't start. Not because the boy hasn't been playing well but because we're apparently not capable of playing to his strenghts.

Suarez should though. He's Uruguyan, he's used to defenders twice his size who are making some genuine attempts to kill him. He won't scare from a couple of Mancs in the stand yelling they're gonna kill him or some tackles from the grannylover or the ginger c*nt.
It's just sex and violence, melody and silence.

This. They'll attack us, they'll leave space on the counter and Bellamy and Suarez will tear them a new one.

I think we have to go 4-4-2 and just match them up.

I think I'd put Gerrard on the right of mid-park with Adam and Spearing just sat in the middle. Downing must be due a start as Bellamy as played a few now.

Carroll is a must. I thought he dominated King and Dawson in the air last night for big parts of the game so with Ferdinand and Evans and De Gea we can cause them problems in open play and from set pieces.

Suarez to start too. So for me and assuming Enrique out:

Pepe
Kelly, Skrtel, Agger, Johnno
Stevie, Jay, Adam, Downing
  Suarez, Carroll

I would love stevie out wide right. Can't see it though. I would go with that team myself. No Enrique?

That's what I think we'll do but I would go for them. There's nothing in the middle of their midfield that we should be scared of so why play 5 across the middle.

They are weak as fcuk at the back and Carroll the way he is playing now would dominate their centre halves and keeper in the air. If need be we just drop Suarez back onto their deepest midfield player.

United are good going forward and shite at the back. Why let them play the way they want to ?

I'm just assuming he is out. If he did a hammy yesterday then he must be a doubt. Kelly has always done well against United and Johnson can do the job on the left so why not just get Jose right.  I think he needs a break anyway and the injury might be telling us that.

I don't think we'll play that. I think it'll be 4-5-1 with Suarez up front but I bet United and De Gea are worried about Carroll. Vidic is their aerial power and he won't be there. They could have 2 small full backs (Rafael/Evra), Rio doesn't like heading it too much and so it would be quite a small side. For once we may have an advantage at set pieces with Carroll/Kelly/Skrtel/Agger all giving a good target.

Nah, Kenny won't bench him for the sake of a handshake (which we all know won't happen anyway.)

Can see Suarez attempting to shake Evra's hand but that lying prick won't accept it, thus keeping the racism row in the media spotlight.

Wouldn't it just be perfect if our number 7 scores (the winner)....or a hat trick, and runs rings round Evra for 90 mins like last time??

Irony is that Id be asking Suarez to run at Evra every chance he gets.

He's really struggling with his defensive game, and has been for a while, and Suarez is the ideal man to expose that.

Old Trafford would be emptier than.. er.. when we stuffed them 4-1.

i would be peeved if Carroll did not start. I really think we should be going for the kill. Gerrard if in the middle should eb dictating their midfield.
Their centre midfield will be one of Giggs (38) or Scholes (37) with Carrick. Of course Rooney will be dropping in to help out but we shouldn't be getting too scared by that centre midfield.

I suspect we'll play Gerrard off Suarez but personally but as I said before, Suarez can drop in and pick Scholes so why go on the back foot when their defence/keeper will not be able to deal with Carroll in the air. We can even just go long to him from the back and get 2 runners with him for scraps and they will struggle to stop it.

I remember years ago under Evans I think, we played them at Anfield with Kvarme and I think Matteo at centre half. They had their great midfield (and it was great) of Giggs/Scholes/Keane/Beckham and could play football as they liked. That day they just lumped it onto Sheringham and picked up scraps because our centre halves couldn't live with him in the air and we were all over the place at the back and lost.

Sometimes it's horses for courses.

I thought most of the corners were ok last night. We looked quite dangerous.

Gerrard should definitely take free kicks from the left hand side and whip them in. Don't mind him delivering from the right to be honest either or Adam but we have to beat the first man.

i would have Suarez up front with Carroll behind him, Kuyt and Downing on both side. Gerrerd and Spearing in CM.

they are going to try to get Suarez send off on satursday as well as giving him a hard time with tough tackles, so have Suarez up top will hopefully more freekicks than usual.

In the cup game we discovered De Gee's weakness, so i think before he learnt and improved from that we should pressure on that weakness of his during set-piece and hopefully get a goal or 2 from it.

Bellamy start off the bench to replace Suarez before either get send off or get injured.
It is not impossible, its just improbable

Think we'll be done 4-0. Two dubious penalties. Agger and Suarez sent off. 7 Other LFC players booked. No bookings for Manchester United. Dalglish sent off and 5 match touchline ban.

This will be the FAs big moment. Can't see them wasting it. The ref will be under strict orders from the off IMO.

Although not as spectacular as your predictions I do believe that Luis will see red - they (the mancs) will be all over the ref every time he makes a challenge - don't expect him to make it to half-time.  And a dubious penalty, well, it wouldn't be a Manchester United game if their wasn't one.

Agreed, and this is why I'm not sure the King will play or certainly start with Suarez on Satday.

The powers that be in football and the media will be desperate for us not to get anything at OT nobody should underestimate quite how much that is the case, and as sure as eggs are eggs if Suarez starts Dowd will find a reason to red card him.  I'd start with Bellamy, Kuyt and Carroll up top again.

I feel this too.  We did well against them last time without him, and they will do their best to wind him up.  Sometimes players need protecting and this might be one of those times

What's he said now?
"My coach told me to warm up just before the break. He told me I was going to take care of Kaka. I didn't think it was possible to turn things around but in the dressing room at halftime Rafa Benitez was calm - "We are Liverpool FC, we have so many fans, we are not going to be slaughtered. What's he said now?

Mr. Ferguson has called for the authorities to crack down hard on racism in football.

The Manchester United manager has been close to the centre of one such controversy –his defender Patrice Evra was racially abused by Liverpool's Luis Suárez, who has just completed the eight-match suspension imposed by the Football Association as punishment.

Suárez is set to come face to face with Evra again at Old Trafford on Saturday and the Liverpool manager, Kenny Dalglish, has already stoked the fires ahead of the match by saying he does not believe the Uruguayan should have been banned.

Other incidents have seen several fans arrested after allegations they racially abused players, while the Chelsea defender John Terry is to stand trial in July to deny a charge that he racially abused Queens Park Rangers' Anton Ferdinand, brother of United's Rio Ferdinand.

Ferguson has been shocked by the re-emergence of the problem and said a tough line is needed. He told CNN: "I don't understand at all where it's coming from.

"This is a moment where we have to take stock and we should do something about it if it's surfacing again, and be really hard and firm on any form or shape of racism.

"There have been a couple of examples recently which is not good. In 2012, you can't believe it. It was obvious maybe 20 years ago and the improvements have been for everyone to see.

"I have had some fantastic black players, absolutely magnificent black players, and with every one of them I have enjoyed my working relationship with them."

Dalglish risked reigniting a row with United with his comments about Suárez after the striker came off the bench during the 0-0 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

"We don't think he should ever have been away but we are delighted to get him back," said the Scot.

United need to win against Liverpool to keep them in touch with Manchester City and Ferguson believes the point his side achieved at Chelsea, coming back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3, could prove crucial in the title race.

Ferguson admitted his mind was turning to "damage limitation" after Chelsea moved into a 3-0 lead after half-time at Stamford Bridge.

He said: "It was a funny thing, in the first half we dominated it and then came the own goal and at half-time we were saying 'we are going to win this match aswe are the better team'.

"But after losing two goals in a few minutes after half-time at that moment we were thinking damage limitation, get home and start again.

"But in true fashion in terms of the character and history of the football club they never gave in and kept going and deserved a point and that point may be one that does it for us – you never know."

What's he said now?

He said Suarez sneaking the money into Arry's bank account is beyond the pail and we must crucify Suarez for all of Football's sins
One thing does need to be said: in the post-Benitez era, there was media-led clamour (but also some politicking going on at the club) to make the club more English; the idea being that the club had lost the very essence of what it means to be ‘Liverpool’. Guillem Ballague 18/11/10
