Group of 3 mates apply - 1 only gets a ticket.  Could easily go back in the pot.  Others apply then car breaks down, or get a big bill, or  realise there is a prior engagement and decide against it.

Where will these tickets go?

In ALL cases they take the ticket.  They then either travel anyway and try to get 2 outside or they sell the one they got and head the boozer with the takings.  I would expect to be able to count the number of people who entered the ballot but never bought on one hand.

Think it's a guess about it being in online history. Club have said emails will be sent to all whether successful or not. Also will be able to check online. But don't know if they'll put up on part of site, like they've done for seasie waiting list, or if it will show in purchase history.
Witty comment

surely it won't show in purchase history though as being successful in the ballot simply gives you the opportunity to then purchase? After which then it would only show in purchase history?

Why would it be part of purchase history when you haven't bought anything? You only have the option to buy, so I highlit doubt anything will go to purchase history at this stage. Best way is just wait for an email or a list of some sorts on the official site.

Carling Cup attendance comes first - correct.  But why a ballot after that?

Many people have a view that people with 19 league + 1 CC - should get priority over people with 0 league +1 CC.  Its a reasonable view.  But in no way is it a dig at those who've travelled here there and everywhere.

How would you distinguish between a person with 0 league games and 1CC game for example against Exeter and a person with 19 league games and 1CC game who has only been to City at home? Ballot is only way.

The argument is that something like 'ballot entry' would go on so the club can do a check when people go to buy tickets.

There was a bit of a stink in 2007 I recall with people saying they'd been sucessful

Surely the club know through your membership number whether you have been successful or not. So when you go to buy online you can go through the purchase process without any blockages, and if you buy at the ticket office and provide your membersship number, they know immediately on their system that you're eligible.

Interesting that the ticket office managed to mess this up in 2007, honestly I don't know what happened at the time but I wouldn't put it past them to use some sort of ridiculous system.

they've started sending the tracking number emails so hopefully once they've been sent, they'll move on to the ballot result emails.

Just one day? I wonder if this means that much fewer people than we expected have the chance to get tickets.

ummm... does the first bit mean that any successful u16 child can take an adult who's registered in the ballot, irrespective of the adult being successful or not? Would make sense, they can't just let the kids go on their own. That'd be why the need to sort this sale first, so that the adults don't get two tickets (one with the kids ticket, one if they are successful themselves)

Correct.  And obviously as tickets run low they cannot sell singles to juniors, which is another reason.

Good logic from the Club sorting successful juniors and their parent out first.
They've handled this okay so far, to be fair to them.
I got the Lucas thing wrong. Will be right on Henderson though. Play him RM, play him CM - Not good enough and never will be.
