We will win the Carling Cup ..... just, score 1-0
Getting to Wembley and winning silverware will see a big boost in confidence and team spirit and we will push on to 4th in the league just pipping the plastics
We will lose in the semis of the FA Cup after playing well with a controversial refereeing decision going against us
We will beat the all time record for number of times to hit the woodwork in a season (prob done that already to be honest)

We will go on a run, but still come up just short of fourth, leaving us to rue results like Bolton and Fulham even more than we do now.

Tottenham will slide back to the pack over the next couple of months, and by the end of the season it will be Spurs that we're fighting with (and losing out to) for fourth. Chelsea will finish third behind the Manc clubs.

Despite the current wave of positivity toward Carroll, by the end of the season we will mostly have given up on him and/or accepted him as "a good squad player." This summer we will target another striker in hopes that this one goes better. We will end up with a big money player under the age of 23 at either striker or wide forward.

We will go out of the FA Cup in the semi-finals to someone we outplay. Probably Arsenal or Spurs.

6th, Carling Cup Winners, out in the FA quarters.
Pleased with trophy, but a disappointing league campaign, and going into the summer with little momentum or direction.
Call me optimistic.

The win at wembley against a tough Cardiff boosts the team morale, and helps us to wembley again in the FA Cup where we'll meet Chelsea. Who we will beat 2-1 with Torres scoring the first goal, Gerrard and Suarez scoring for us.

We narrowly get 4th spot in a two horse race for that spot with Chelsea, when we beat them at Anfield on the 2nd last game.

We sign Hazard, M'Vila, Cavani and Scott Sinclair.

Dirk, Maxi leave the club. Fabio takes up a new role as a physiotherapist at the club.

FA give us 5 tough fixtures to start with, Arsenal, Man City, Everton, Newcastle, Chelsea all away.

We will win the League Cup 2-0, and this will be the catalyst for the rest of the season. Confidence and team spirit will bw high and this will improve our league form massively. Carroll will get on the scoresheet more regularly and Downing will start providing assists. Adam will continue to delight and infuriate. Suarez will be magic.

We lose in the FA Cup semi-final to Chelsea after outplaying them, but exact our revenge by beating them at Anfield and finishing 4th by two points.

Next summer we are linked with a host of Europe's best talent- Cavani, Hazard, Eriksen, Goetze- but are beaten by other clubs to all of their signatures apart from Cavani. Fallback options like Hoilett mean we go into next season looking a much more well-rounded squad.

Oh and there will be a 50+ page thread on here for a solid gold world class talent who we were never actually in for.

TOMMO will start a non-ironic thread entitled "Fuck it, it's Heskey".

5th behind Chelsea and above Arsenal. Carling Cup winners. FA Cup depends completely on the draw. I'll go for Spurs to win it, beating us in the semis or the final.

Man Utd will win another title and Barca will win another Champs Lge.

Hope I'm wrong on a couple of those.

Caroll peaked against Wolves and will be lucky to hit the net 3 more times this season.
Dalglish and Comolli will be 'relieved of there duties' with Kenny being offered an 'ambassadorial role' to make way for Jose Mourinho this summer.
Kenny will politely tell the owners to stick this 'ambassadorial role' where the sun doesn't shine.
No news on the stadium, or the plans are to be mothballed.

Everton will go bust, Kenwright will make a late attempt to merg Liverpool and Everton calling them Liverton, Kenny will reject it immediately and Everton will no longer exist. Liverpool win some games, lose some games and draw some games, will play in at least one final and will finish in a league position between 1 - 8.

Win FA Cup - Remote - ridiculous amount of people saying we will get beat in semi's by Spurs
4th Place - 4th place is there for any team that wants it as has the balls to take it. My only problem is that with the trip to Wembley and probable progression in the FA cup we are going into a situation where we will have games in hand and will begin to play catch up ALOT. We could find ourselves slipping down to 7th or 8th with games in hand. Not sure games in hand ever really help a team and it is a horrible thing to feel like you are far away from where you think you should be all the time. You find yourself automatically giving yourself 3 points for every game in hand only to get really dissapointed when one turns into a loss or a draw. On the other hand if you can stay in touch with a game in hand it can really put the pressure on the other contenders. Lets see how we do in the next 2 big league games - 4 point for me from those and we WILL make 4th.
