With Cardiff selling extra tickets today, have they been given a bigger allocation than us?

The 1500 they've got will be the same as the extra we got after first ballot sale

Carling Cup Final
Ticket Delivery
Should you have purchased a ticket for the Carling Cup final, please note that these are being sent to you via Special Delivery and all of these are expected to land by Thursday. If you are not available to take delivery, Royal Mail will leave a red "While You Were Out" card. This means that you will need to collect and sign for your ticket at your local Royal Mail sorting office, as detailed on the delivery card.

Thursday  :o :o hardly what you'd call special delivery. Can only assume that this means they're only being sent out by Royal Mail tomorrow

still no sign of our second 2, got the email reference on Friday, and RM site still not showing as RM receiving the item.

not normally one to moan, but why send out a SD reference on Friday if they werent posting it til later this week? obviously going to cause concern

Does seem a bit strange!

Has ANYONE contacted Royal Mail yet to ask them to explain themselves?

RM won't be arsed until so many days have passed, by which point we'd of been to Wembley 3 times already

No, we got our extra 2000 last week.

So the email should of read:

17/02/2012

Dear Mr Tom James,

This is an automated email to keep you informed regarding the status of your order delivery reference (JAM) .

Your order has been despatched.

HOWEVER

You probably won't get it until Thursday, even though we charged you for the most special of specialist deliveries,

Thank you for shopping with LFC ticket office,

Relax and enjoy your week

Can't believe how many people have queried the 24 hour guarantee special delivery thing.
Just because you bought last week doesn't mean they sent them out last week. You will get them one day after they have been sent out ffs.
Havent' had any of my four yet and I bought 2 of them in the first ballot sale. Don't panic Mr Mainwaring.

Do you not think people with a reference number have a point though? I'm in the school of 'don't worry, it'll turn up' but why get a SD reference in an email and nothing is then delivered?

We are all paying £5.50 for delivery. As long as they stick to the schedules necessary, that's where there's no complaint.

Fair point but I was talking about those who have not received the email with the reference number.

Chaps, I think this has been mentioned recently, but I'll explain what I know about Special Delivery.

Special Delivery items are sent out in special silver plastic envelopes. Each one has a removable label on it, and each label has a 13-digit reference number on it.

This means that LFC know the reference number (and, presumably, can email it to you) before they give it to Royal Mail.

You can't just go and stuff a Special Delivery package in the post box. It needs to be received and registered at a post office.

If you have a 13-digit reference number (every one I have seen ends in 'GB'), but the Royal Mail website is saying 'Come back later' (or words to that effect), my opinion is that the envelope is still with LFC.

Once it has been posted, you should see an 'out for delivery, we expect to deliver on time... ' type message on the morning that they intend to deliver.

On a positive note, I use Special Delivery quite a lot for my business, and all have been delivered on time.

Fingers crossed for you all - lots of unnecessary stress.
OOT - please don't hurt me!

Your spot-on with this......all will arrive this week for sure

Funny though i bought my own in the very first round of sales........got a dispatch email on a Friday afternoon and my postie was knocking on my door Saturday morning with it........

My mate got he's in the 8k odd ballot, also got a dispatch email on a Friday afternoon (last week), and Saturday, Monday and today Tuesday has passed with nothing........

So clearly Royal Mail didnt have them in their possession last Friday when the dispatch emails went out.........

The emails are coming from LFC though, not RM!

You can tell if RM have them in hand, as it will suggest so when you track the parcel.

Email recd today for my ticket in the initial Ballot. I need to check if my other mate received his email for the 2nd ticket.

We also have 1 ticket in the 'extra 2000' but not sure about that email yet? Not recd as yet (to my knowledge)

Has ANYONE contacted Royal Mail yet to ask them to explain themselves?

Why would they need to? The day they get them the day they are sent out.

I'm cool mate. Couldn't be more calm, but there's a LOT of people losing their heads on here, so why not suggest they contact RM (if they have a SD ref no?) instead of our completely useless TO. Just trying to give them another angle...

I work as a Postie and believe me highest priority is given with SD items. You know what all these companies are like with their figures, well everything is based on these and the managers make their bonus. They are the best performing part of the business - stats wise. They get in RM hands and they are there next day before 1pm 99.9 of the time.

Walk into your local Post Office before 5pm today hand them a SD item and have it anywhere in mainland UK by 1pm tomorrow.
You think RM would want a few hundred/thousand SD items fucking up their nice little figures? After all the shit we take from guys above us and making sure they are their on time...
