STHs pay less for their tickets than members who go every match. And it was upfront (in two lots) this season for us too. If STs were available, you'd have a point. But since they've been impossible to get for over a decade, it's not exactly fair.

It's just the advantage of having one.

Because seasies fork up the £800 up front in June, basically. It's always been that way and always should be.

I've forked out for 19 league games in 2 lump sums, one at 4 weeks notice, and that has cost me £900

That ballot looks unnecessarily complicated. A ballot to say if you can apply, then you actually have to go buy a ticket on the correct day, instead of them just sending a ticket out if successful?

I suppose that's so that members / FCH successful in the ballot can then buy their tickets together and sit together? Seems like a weird extra step to me, but meh. I suppose at least you get the extra week to find £75 for a fucking ticket. :)

Friday for us, anyway. Should be simple enough. £72 tickets if at all possible. Though I imagine that everyone will be wanting those.

The disgusting fact is Members who have Man City and all home games this season in the league and have been going for years have to fight for a ticket with someone who has only ever been to one Liverpool game.

Agreed.
And likelihood is that if they do get a ticket they'll be sat on their own rather than being able to go as a family.
I'm assuming that for anyone who wants parent and child (although that's not my lot) both the parent and the child will have to be successful in the ballot.  What happens if just the child gets through on the ballot?

I went to Exeter , Brighton, Chelsea and City away but could not get them games on my fan card and with only city at home on the fan card.  So it is the ballot for me.

Lets hope for a bit of luck ;)

It's funny, isn't it? It's only before big games and finals that this STH / Member / FCH argument rears its depressingly dull head.

I mean. It's only been the same old fucking argument for the last decade or so. We all know the system. It is the way it is for certain reasons, and it's not going to change any time soon.

If you're one of the handful of Members who records 19 homes on your card, plus every home cup tie - unlucky. But I honestly find it hard to believe that more than 2 or 3 of those exist who won't get a ticket for the final. If that. Enough of the aways for this went to General Sale, so if you'd have gone to one of those, you'd be sound.

Anyway. More members than you think will get sorted. Guaranteed. There'll be spares flying about the place too, from Priority Rights, from corporates, and from the "neutral" shite.

We sit together at Anfield and we will sit together at Wembley.

We waited 15 years for STs.  Have never missed a semi final or final anywhere since the 80s.  That's because we are Red as fook and loyal as fook.  And all those years we DID NOT have an ST.

Just to put a different slant on this - I've been to one CC match all season (as well as numerous league games) and have a shot at a ticket for the final.

Made up with that!

Because it's not a fucking home game.  How fucking difficult is this shit?  I mean really?

Several rules of LFC ticket allocation.

1.  Away games do not give you priority for home games
2.  ACS membership guarantees you a ticket for home games
3.  Attendance in that competition gets you priority for aways and finals
4.  In the event of other things being equal PRH > STH > Member > FCH

Without coming across as (too) dismissive, it doesn't stop you from continuing to go to home league and other games. This was a cup game and as has been said before, at least Stoke and Chelsea went to all Members, think City may have too. Those who are going to the final have most likely been going to aways and homes in the CC for at least one year and probably more. I know at least one of the aways I got was down to a game a couple of years ago.

Each competition has and always will be counted on the merits of itself. Simple. Even if the odd game allows prem home credits for a later sale it's at best niaive to think that this would be taken into account for a Final.

if you are successful with 2 or more applications in the ballot, you will be able to buy seats together as the ballot and ticket sales are completely separate.

you will be given notification if you are successful in the ballot then the sale will begin two days later.

It does \ did \ probably will continue to do, but only in the early rounds of the competition, later rounds usually count loyalty from earlier rounds.

Exactly, a ballot is a load of shite. It will be like the champions league final all over again.

2 days before the CL ballot i spoke to my neighbour, "are you going the final" i asked "not this time, can't afford it" he replied. Ballot takes place, neighbour comes out the hat, i don't, neighbour sells his ticket for a tidy profit! That's fair, my arse.

Should just be first come, first served for whats left.

I'm not disagreeing with you but it's the fairest way to do it by splitting it up. Season Tickets have to have some advantages too and cup final tickets have always been one.

Not disagreeing with ST getting one, but Ballots wouldn't have been needed of they'd done a staggered sale based on City and number of league games recorded just for member, then those wioth more loyalty get a better chance, then people who have just been to City

Thats a fair allocation and a fair way to distribute the tickets amongst all fans who went to games.

So if you went to any one game in the Carling cup, you are guaranteed a ticket.

Fair play to our ticket office. This shows them in a good light, there can't be anyone complaining about this.

Going to have a moan even though I know I will get slaughtered on here for it!

I know I could have got aways on my card (I did go to stoke but only last minute and got it in the exchange) But I only have the home semi on my membership, so I go into the ballot along with my mate who I went with. The difference is that I have 17 home PL games on my card and his was the first game he has been to this season!

I know you will say that the club dontr use different cups etc for loyalty, but in this case surely it would have been fairer to split it to 1 CC game and say 10PL then a ballot for the rest of the 1 CC credits??

It is my fault for not getting at least the stoke game on my card but thought they should show some advantage to the more match going fans?

Depends how many tickets would be left for those sales wouldn't it? Although a ballot is more random, it doesn't rely upon access to a phone and the pot luck of when you get through to allocate tickets. Neither system is perfect, but a ballot gives more people a chance.

I'm a member with every home game this season.  But I'm not pissed off.  I'll be honest and admit that I didn't try particularly hard to goto the away CC games, more so because I'm stretched with time and finances going to the PL games but I tried really hard I could have made one of them.   So I don't think anyone really should be complaining, its the same old story for every cup run.  Goto the earlier rounds and you'll get a ticket.  Members who now bulk buy understandably want an even footing with the STH.  But we'll never get it and maybe rightly so... there is an argument there for both sides.

Yeah it's fine if all are successful in ballot.  But that's unlikely and as I said in my original post would prefer all or none to go through.  It's the use of ballot rather than loyalty that I object to.  Ballot potentially splits families up unless you are incredibly lucky.

This was a cup game and as has been said before, at least Stoke and Chelsea went to all Members, think City may have too.

Away tickets to members sold out almost immediately.  Very few could have taken them up.
Sick of people implying that member's couldn't be bothered trying to get the aways.
