Our influence on the media is zero.

and i think whoever was leading our Suarez matter had it all over the place.

Old ground I know, but there is no reason for the FA not to have charged him at least.

There is a different burden of proof required between FA hearing and criminal court so Terry could be innocent in criminal court and guilty in FA court on the exact same facts. Of course that won't happen because the FA won't charge if he's not guilty in criminal.

think the FA were asked by the police to leave it alone until all the legal bullshit had been gotten out of the way.

also, is it incredibly cynical of me to think that even if he is convicted the FA won't bring a charge because he's already received a punishment?

or is that just me being over paranoid.

I hope he doesn't.

For once I think Darren Lewis is right when he asks why in the world Ferdinand would want to shake hands with a man he believes racially abused him.  If it wasn't a football match nobody would even think they should be shaking hands.

Pat Nevin on Radio 5 last night suggested that they remove the team handshake altogether, to avoid the sight of Ferdinand refusing Terry

Surely they should just pull the bloke out of the match who called someone a 'black ****" in whatever context it was said.

this is a sensible suggestion. which is exactly why they haven't done it.

also, how many calls will there be for suarez to be left out of the old trafford game in 2 weeks time?

There's no "allegedly" about it. He said it as clear as the nose on your face.

The only question if that is a defence is the context.

Obviously we shouldn't talk about this too much until the case has been heard, but it really does sound like the worst defence in the world (aside from a Harry Redknapp defence, possibly). Why on earth would you supposedly use exactly the same words that are obviously offensive and dangerous, and shout them across a crowded pitch?

It remains an unproven allegation that he intended to racialy abuse Ferdinand, that he used those words directly to him and I think we're on shaky ground legally to suggest anything else

It's a big assumption to make, BUT, assuming for a moment that Terry did 'only' use the words 'I didn't call you a .........' it's still pretty offensive to repeat this to a black player. Surely you would just say something along the lines of  'I didn't call you that' ?

Terry will get off with it.

He will have a 10k a criminal QC defending him against a CPS bod.

The same 10k a day QC that the FA hired to interrogate and humiliate Suarez. The same QC that could pour doubt on Mother Theresa's confessional prayers.

Thinking back to when Benitez originally brought in Dalglish. It was one of the things he was brought back for if i remember correctly. Think bobby charlton does a similar job at utd . London clubs will always be favoured, so we're the ones that get battered all the time.

Wonder what Barnes is doing right now. He'd be a perfect ambassador for the club

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's not Ferdinand who accused him, was it?  I thought this all stemmed from a fans complaint?

Not too sure, how did a fan hear the comments then?

I thought Terry is alleged to have shouted to Ferdinand "hey Anton did you think I called you a black c*nt?"

Makes it a bit dubious doesn't it? If a player takes a fans word for something allegedly spoken on the pitch? Do you mean to say that Ferdinand never even heard the alleged comments?

In this link it states that Ferdinand also gave an account of the incident in a police interview. We don't know what he said in that interview until the case goes to court ......

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16289446.stm

So are we talking about someone lip-reading from the stand or what? Not trying to defend Terry, I'm just saying that we were up in arms about the Suarez case being too one-sided and of our player seemingly having to prove his innocence rather than his accusers proving his guilt so how can anyone be certain that Terry did racially abuse Ferdinand when all the evidence has yet to be seen and heard?
If Kenny Dalglish cannot influence the team to play with more pride in their shirts for the millions of fans they represent, then what chance does anyone else have?

And that Powar fucker can do one and all. This weekend threatens to be memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Victory for the racists then. If the handshake is so important then the other 20 players should have shook hands. They are just doing all they can to avoid Terry being made to look a twat again.

Fucking laughable from the FA.

I'd put money on it right now, when we play at Old Trafford with Suarez back in the side they WILL NOT do the same. There will be no mention of it from them whatsoever, Sky will make sure there's a close up on Evra refusing to shake his hand, and THAT will be the picture on the back of all the papers the next day, not the scoreline.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

Pathetic from the FA. They really should just stick to debating whether or not snoods are acceptable on the pitch, because they ain't got a clue how to handle anything else. Fucking imbeciles.
You have posted literally nothing of substance to flame about.  Your "points", and I dread to call them that, were superficial and completely arbitrary.  Nothing you said could be argued against because nothing you said elaborated a position of any kind.

The main difference is that the Terry case is still pending in the courts. The Suarez ‘witch-hunt’ has been dealt with a therefore cannot be impacted by the reaction of the players during a handshake.

I think it’s a poor decision by the FA. It can be construed as not supporting Anton and not prejudicing Terry. I’ve got no problems with Suarez not shaking Evra’s hand when we play them.

I believe we will start Suarez on the bench therefore avoid the situation. They’ll use the lacking match fitness as the justification.
And all the world is football shaped, It's just for me to kick in space. And I can see, hear, smell, touch, taste.

A jumped up egotistical no mark gaining a little bit of celebrity for himself by hiding behind a kick racism out of football banner.

He abhors racism that much that he obviously didn't bother to read the Suarez report, oh and he's ok with a bit of cultural stereotyping as long as skin colour isn't implied, which makes him a bit of a racist in my eyes. Go figure!
