The first one is Danish (has it's own thread in here), the last one is Italian, based on the life of Mafia-leader Toto Riina. They're both brilliant, well played two/one season series.

Even though I'm only 2 seasons through the Sopranos it is clearly a work of immense genius. The Wire was absolute dynamite. Other favourites are Ulysses 31, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Only Fools and Horses, Twin Peaks, The Simpsons and Modern Family is rapidly becoming a massive favourite.

The greatest? Looks like it's going to be The Sopranos once all is said and done.

Seriously though, it harks back to an era when there was a deep intelligence to children's cartoons. Imagine trying to get that made in this generation: A re-interpretation of Homer's Odyssey set in deep space featuring guest appearances from the heavyweights of Greek mythology. I watch it a lot.
