The Autocup Debacle

My view on this ACS.

What does it do? Twofold.  Firstly the club can easily administer ticket allocation to subscribors, and also guaranteeing the club income.  Secondly subscribors gain themselves priority credits in the competition right from the start.

What games is it eligible for?  Home games in the specific competition subscribed to.

Does it give you priority if the club were to reach the final of said competition?  All statements from the club clearly state HOME games only.  So no.

Is it fair to all supporters?  If you go to every single game at Anfield, rain or shine then yes.  If not, highly debatable.  If you are a ST Holder you are given the option to join in the summer not knowing who the opposition will be in the competition.  If you are a member you decide when the first game at Anfield is known.  Is that Fair?  No!

Does everybody understand it?  No.  Most people are completely confused.  The club have organised a scheme with which the rules were ambigous from the start.  Then when circumstances went against what they were trying to achieve they simply re-jigged the rules to try and please everybody.

That's my take

 ;D

I really hope they have a pick-up-at-the-ticket-office-at-Wembley option because I just realized that in the off chance that I manage to get a ticket I won't be in the country until the afternoon of the 25th! And I live in Liverpool so I can't go back from London to Liverpool to pick up my ticket and then come back down to London.

Oh well, ticket or no ticket at least I'll be around Wembley watching the game somewhere. Been to all but Exeter in the cup but only City at home is on my card!

I'd say there's a decent chance that the majority of people that want to go to the final who went to City will get a ticket.

Let's say there's 7/8k who'll be sorted through away CC games, infact it'll probably be less than that.

I assume after that it'll go down to the City game. That leaves another 22/23k tickets for people that went to City and DIDNT get sorted in the first 7/8k.

Also got to consider that a lot of locals who go to home games don't go to game away from Anfield and will prefer watching at home.

45,000 minus 6,000 city fans minus 7,500 sorted in the first sale minus one off day trippers, corps, hospitality etc minus people that wont want to go to the game (too far away/work/cba etc) = 80/90% of people that went to the City game getting sorted.

Having said that though, I do think they'll bring EPL games into it to break up the allocation for those who went to City games, considering thats the only home we've had in the cup. Would be crazy for 30,000 fans trying to phone up at one time.

Expect it to be something like this ..

Priority Holders
All 4 away games
3/4 away games
2/4 away games
1/4 away game
City at home & 7+ EPL
City at home & 3+ EPL
City at home & 1+ EPL

This looks sensible to me but who knows. What is the general feeling about the pricing and where would most people prefer to be? Me personally taking my young lad to Wembley for the first time dont really care but is there much more value to the Ł90 tickets from the Ł40 ones??
(besides the obvious Ł50 ;o)

Two middle tiers I'm guessing will be the first to get sold out. The cheapest and most expensive will probably last a little longer. Ideally I personally would go with the 72 (but 86 if I have to) because I'm blind as a bat when it comes to long distance vision.

Would never be that complicated, it would take to long to sell out. In an ideal world, it would be nice to let people with all the credits get first dibs, but it doesn't work like that.

Anyway, have Cardiff released their selling details yet?

EDIT: Not sure if been posted yet.

Quote
The Bluebirds and fellow finalists Liverpool have each been given 31,000 tickets. The Football League yesterday said prices were set as Ł90 for the best seats in category one, Ł72 for category two seats, Ł56 for category three and Ł40 in category four.

Not a fact.  If there was not an ACS then how come members got priority over ST holders in the Man City sale?

please show me, ala Oldham in the FA Cup which they made very clear, where it said by buying a Man City ticket on a specific date did this enrole a member into an ACS for the CC??

This was the notice for the semi from club:

Liverpool have announced ticket details and selling arrangements for the Carling Cup semi-final second leg with Manchester City on Wednesday January 25, 2012.

Any future Carling Cup game will be sold based on previous attendance in this year's competition.

So they will base final tickets on the above

i've a head fuck after reading the last few pages, sale starts this sunday right?

Wasn't going to speculate on this, but fuck it, everyone and his dog seems to be having a go and manipulating the list to suit their own circumstances (I reckon I'll get one cos I went to Swansea at home and we played shite, plus my neighbour looks after Stevie's dog etc etc).

I wanna join in with the guessing game.... ;)

1. Anyone with two will get sorted first.

After that, it might either be:

2. STHs with one match
3. Members with one match
4. Anybody with one match (unlikely there's any left)

OR

2. STHs with ACS and one match
3. Members with one match
4. STH without ACS and one match
5. Anybody with one match recorded (unlikely there's any left)

The first option would mean they forget about their botched-up ACS for the CC this year.

The other question is if the sale to members with one match recorded takes league credits into account, similar to what they did for the CC and FA sale. I can't see them using the ACS (if it exists for members for the CC) because that'd mean giving precedence to those whose one match was City at home over those with one away. Because you could only 'enter' the ACS with the home game.

The general availability for the home semi-final must give those wishing to attend plenty of optimism , it was against the Premier League leaders FFS and the second leg (the decisive leg) was at Anfield.....tickets didn't exactly fly out did they.....

Bar the Prem away games, when we all know half of the clubs allocation per match is blatantly bought by peps just to protect loyalty credits and passed on, lets be honest getting a ticket for a Anfield match in the last few seasons has been a formality

If this was the FA cup final, when the allocation would be around 20k, then it would be sticky for a significant number.......me included not being a STH

With 31k im pretty sure everyone who went City during the week and wants a ticket is gonna have a very decent chance, some peps just wont go, and some will be financially priced out......

Page 13 of panic and how many pages of claptrap did we have for the City sale and look how that played itself out !!!!!!!!!

Wembley, Wembley !!!
