Fans haven't been waiting 16 years.  Don't give a fuck about the venue - its about going to a final.  Saying that, 6 years is long enough.

Think you'll find we took part in a not so insignificant final about 5 years ago  ;)

LOL  absolutely insane.  A true football fan.

 ;D

Everyone will have countless stories to tell of their travels following the club. It's all an experience and something to look back on.

18 yr old, went to Newcastle away in a league cup game, game went to extra time missed last train home, caught a 2am train to York slept on the platform for a few hrs. Train to Manchester Piccadilly arrived home at 8am, college for 9 and fella sleep all through my classes.  ;D

That's a load of crap that mate, it wasn't hard to get tickets for aways at all, Stoke and Chelsea went to general and i'm sure Brighton did as well, ANYONE who wanted to go to any CC fixture this season, except maybe Exeter could have gone, there's no excuses for people who want to go the final but couldn't be arsed with previous fixtures

And that's why people clamouring for tickets don't deserve them. It's the same score every year, more games you go to the more chance you have a ticket to the final. All these games including City went to general and people didn't get themselves organised to buy one but now want a final ticket?

On home turf? You mean in England?  That doesn't count for anything with most reds - "we're not English we are scouse", remember! :D I went to all our Cardiff games and loved them - wish the final was still played there in fact. It's still in the UK and is a great stadium IMO, warm welcome, nice city, central location once there ... Much better than London!

My sentiments too!! Long live Cardiff - the City rather than the football club of course!

Agree with you on the whole but if I recall correctly there must have been about 20 tickets for Chelsea.  It was phones or windows only and went within 15 minutes.

I know I (and others) could have gone to Stoke or one of the earlier games, but Chelsea was more tricky.  I missed Stoke due to work commitments and failed to get any away tickets after that.

Like I say, I could have gone to one of the earlier games and didn't, so am rightly quite far down the pecking order for the final and don't think I'll get a ticket

Wembley Stadium itself is the worst idea.  They should never have built it.

Again, can't argue with anything you say but the way the players etc. go on about Wembley, it was always going to be built and like you say, once it was Club Wembley and the like were inevitable

Yeah why not LOL

My most mad thing was when I was even younger.....about 14 or 15 I think.  Reds were away at Ipswich during the school holidays (start of the season).  Me and 3 mates decided we were going to go.  Next to no money except the entrance fee for a kid each.  Ipswich of course being in the middle of nowhere.  Jumped train after train until we finally got there.  Brill match.  If I remember right we knew we couldn't get back by train that night.  There was some kind of programme sellers hut on the corner of Portman Road which we had earmarked as our doss for the night.  Sure enough we hid in some bushes till everybody had left the ground and every car was out of sight and dossed down in this fookin wooden hut lol

Next morning, up we get and jump trains all the way home again.

How we did it I just don't know.  But what an adventure! lol

I've a feeling that any of the members with 3 PL games were placed on the ACS when purchasing their City home ticket.  Wasn't that the whole reason for the fiasco from everyone ?

No.  The ACS wont come into this sale (in my opinion).

There is/was no members ACS for the Carling Cup.  The ticket selling arrangements for the semi were favourable for Members as an ACS had been promised before the season.

The only Members ACS is the FA Cup one

There was an ACS for the CC, just because we didn't have a first home game that was our chance to 'enter' it (The City game), so technically by buying the City game we should of been entered into any ACS which may occur before the final. 8) Hope so anyway.

There is an ACS for the League Cup: http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/announcements/carling-cup-semi-final-ticket-news
It looks like it was for ST's only however:
League Cup Auto Cup Scheme for Season Ticket Holders

Season Ticket Holders who have registered for the League Cup Auto Cup Scheme must not make an application. Those who remain in their season ticket seat will have their cards activated for entry, whilst those who are issued alternative seats will receive a paper ticket for this fixture. The processing of payments will begin on Friday 9th December.

and VdM may well be right and it's only applicable for home games, although that coupled with likely selling arrangements will effectively give you priority for Final tickets (just not automatic payment). If you're a ST with League Cup ACS or just a ST with Man City on your card then I say yer in.

Also this Q&A tells you why previous season's CC is unlikely to be used (in my reading it's unsuitable mechanism for managing a ticket sale for a large number of tickets. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/carling-cup-semi-ticket-news

Common sense says that the sale will be:
  • All those that went to 2+ aways \ home (Exeter was too small an allocation to give a bearing on it's own) So any 2 of Exeter, Stoke or Chelsea)
  • STs who went to Man City (may split this up into ACS then STs with one)
  • All STs
  • All Members
  • General
Wasn't going to speculate on this, but fuck it, everyone and his dog seems to be having a go and manipulating the list to suit their own circumstances (I reckon I'll get one cos I went to Swansea at home and we played shite, plus my neighbour looks after Stevie's dog etc etc).

This is what I understood too. Although it sounded pointless as there were no other home games for it to be used for, they did (I think) 'officially' call it the ACS that we were entering at the point of the Man City game sale - hence why we were prioritised over non-ST ACS.

In my opinion what will happen is, and the order will be:

1) Anyone with 2 or more CC tickets
2) Season ticket holders with ACS and CC ticket
3) Members with CC
4) Season tickets with CC

The reason I think this is because if only 7000 ST Holders were in CC ACS/12000 in FA Cup ACS, and members get priority over season tickets you can bet every penny in your pocket that every single season ticket holder next year will sign up for both ACS competitions.

Also in terms of allocation.  If out of the 31,000 ticket we got, the fans get say 25,000.  Then there will not be more than 5000, who have been to 2+ games in the CC, as most of these who have been to an away, will have been the home leg against City too.  Leaving 20,000.  Minus 7000 ST CC ACS.  13,000 remaining for the members.

Seems logical to me.

How many members just with the home game do people reckon there are?

Well, there will be less members than ST's you would assume, so a ballot would produce a lower percentage of un-satisfied customers.  Just my theory!
