Emailed my MP the day we hit 100k sigs on the petition, only just received a reply in the post today.

Thank you for contacting me about the Kevin Williams case and the Hillsborough disaster.

Hillsborough was a terrible tragedy that must never be repeated.  The pain of this horrendous day still lives right across the United Kingdom, and I am grateful for the insights provided in your earlier emails as to how this tragic event has affected you personally.  Whilst there is little I can add to my previous letter to you on the subject, I would like to restate my belief the victims of this tragedy, including Kevin Williams, should not be forgotten.  96 people lost their lives in the disaster and their families deserve the truth.

I cannot comment on individual cases; however I can assure you that I am aware that the Attorney General, Dominic Grieve QC MP, is looking at the applications made to his predecessors, to determine whether in his view, the evidence available supports an application to the court for a new inquest.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact me.

Yours sincerely,

Sam Gyimah MP

The previous emails he refers to were regarding the original Hillsborough petition as was the previous letter, which was the generic Tory reply received by many on here.

Once again it looks to me like platitudes with no intent to actually do anything.

Ditto.

Also sending a letter to my local MP tonight.

I have to say, I'm here a bit late in the day as I was for the e-petition (for which I apologise), but I CANNOT believe a subject of this importance carries 3 pages to date. Is this all we can manage? I know I'm asking the wrong people here, but christ, it's taken me 15 minutes of my time to sort this out and all we have so far is 3 pages  :butt

Bit of a long one I'm afraid (sorry for that) but I got an excellent response from Robert Buckland, my Conservative MP, full credit for taking the time, certainly sounds like another MP onside
---------------------------

Dear Miles

Thank you for the clarification and sorry that I did not understand exactly what you were wanting the first time. The Hillsborough Justice campaign website is very informative so thank you for pointing me to that site.

I will write to the Attorney General, Dominic Grieve MP QC, because I think that the 3.15pm cut off issue is a very valid point. When the Minister replies, I will write to you again. Hopefully the Attorney General will see merit in this. It is important that all the families affected by this terrible tragedy receive as much information in a transparent way to aid the grieving and healing processes. Seeing the tragedy in Egypt last week brought it home to me that, even now, there are places in the world that still suffer tragic sporting disasters.

Thank you very much for writing to me and when the Minister replies, I will send you his response.

Yours sincerely
Robert Buckland MP

Dear Robert

Many thanks for you prompt response, it is much appreciated.

I did in fact listen to the full debate back in October and congratulate the stance taken by all those who participated.

However, Anne Williams case is somewhat different from the majority of the 95 who died that day in that her son, Kevin, could have been saved. The inquest into the deaths had a cut off point of 3:15pm when it was stated that all those who died had died of traumatic asphyxia by this point.

In Kevin Williams case this was clearly not so, and as such there has never been a proper inquest into his death, taking into account the time between 3:15 and 4:00pm when he actually died.

I would respectfully urge you to take just a few minutes to read the brief explanation into Kevin's case, found on the Hillsborough Justice Campaigns website http://www.contrast.org/hillsborough/anne.shtm, from where you can form an opinion into whether you feel her case needs supporting and reviewing.

Again, many thanks for your time.

Best Regards
Miles

Dear Miles

Thank you for your e-mail. There was a debate on the terrible Hillsborough tragedy on 17th October 2011. Here is a link to that debate:  http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm201011/cmhansrd/cm111017/debindx/111017-x.htm

The Government has confirmed its commitment to full transparency about the Hillsborough disaster through full public disclosure. All papers had previously been shared with the Hillsborough Independent Panel. The Government is happy for all the papers, including Cabinet papers, to be released as soon as the Panel so decides, in consultation with the families. We expect them to be shared with the Hillsborough families first and then to the wider public.

Thank you for your e-mail and I hope that this response has been helpful.

Yours sincerely

Subject: Anne Williams Hillsborough Petition

Dear Robert

I am writing this to you in the hope that it will help achieve what myself, and many others, as Liverpool fans, have been fighting for, for 23 long years. Justice.

As I am sure you're aware, a petition was signed by 100,000+ members of the general public in order to help it on it's way to being debated by Parliament. The petition (which can be viewed through the following link http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/19149.) was created by Mrs Anne Williams, who tragically lost her son during the 1989 footballing disaster at Hillsborough. As you are probably also aware, many other fans lost their lives on that day, however Anne has fought the fight for her son and others in the hope that both herself, and the families of the other 95 dead and many other victims may finally get justice and closure.

I would urge you to please get this petition into Parliament, help get Mrs. Williams the inquest she so desires in order to finally lay her sons memory to rest peacefully and allow Liverpool fans around the world to honour the memories of the 96 victims knowing that justice has finally been done.

I know you have plenty of other issues to deal with on a daily basis, but as a supporter who lost a couple of friends, I feel compelled to support Anne. I hope you, as my elected representative, can also do something to help her find the truth.

I hope I can look forward to your support for Anne's inquest. If you feel you need further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you feel you are unable to offer Anne the support she needs to gain a debate in Parliament, I will respect your views as I hope you will respect mine. A response either way would be greatly appreciated.

Thanking you for your time.

Got exactly the same from my MP (David Mowat - Tory) this morning. The generic replies make them look even less concerned. At least you'd think each MP would draft his own response to his constituents, rather than some centralised Tory standard c*nt response. Wankers, all of them. And they don't give a fuck at all!!!

This arrived in the email today, I'm sure everyone who completed the petition will get the same stating whats happening next.

The e-petition 'Give Kevin Williams his inquest under section 13 of the coroners Act, we have all the evidence under this section but keep getting refused.' signed by you recently reached 118,317 signatures and a response has been made to it.

This e-petition has now passed the threshold of 100 000 signatures. The Leader of the House of Commons has written to the Backbench Business Committee, who are responsible for the scheduling of debates on e-petitions, informing them that the petition has reached 100 000 signatures The Backbench Business Committee meets weekly to hear representations from MPs for debates in backbench time. The Committee can consider any subject for debate, including those raised in e-petitions, but an MP must make the case for their consideration. More information about the Committee is available on its website http://www.parliament.uk/bbcom Since the petition was brought to the attention of the Attorney General, he has agreed that he will look at the applications made to his predecessor, to determine whether in his view, the evidence available supports an application to the Court for a new inquest.

THE TRUTH?

Lord Justice Taylor's official inquiry into the disaster disparaged The Sun's story and was unequivocal as to the disaster's cause:

The Taylor Report stated that official cause of the disaster was the failure of police control.

Got a reply from my MP - she's since spoken with Bill Esterston to add her support :)

I write to thank you for your email regarding the e-petition started by Anne Williams regarding a new inquest into the death of her son.

I cannot begin to imagine what Ms. Williams must have gone through since the death of her son at Hillsborough and support calls for a new inquest. I am happy to work with Merseyside MPs to secure a debate on Kevin's death. Do you know which MPs are taking the lead on this issue? If you do I will contact them and offer my assistance.

With Best Wishes,

Finally had a reply from my MP;

Paul,

Thanks for the e-mail.

I don’t know if you’ve had the chance to watch the debate last year on Hillsborough but many moving speeches were made by a number of MPs.

It was extremely heartening to see a spirit of inter party cooperation.  You can read the transcript here:

http://www.theyworkforyou.com/debates/?id=2011-10-17a.662.0&s=hillsborough#g723.1.

The petition you’ve mentioned, having received in excess of 100, 000 signatures, has been forwarded to the Backbench Business Committee for scheduling.  I’ll definitely be attending when it takes place and hope I have the chance to speak again.

A response from Stephen Mosley MP dated the 7th of February, arrived in the post yesterday.

Dear Mr Bradshaw [hand written],

Thank you for your recent email about the epetition submitted by Mrs Anne Williams concerning the death of her son Kevin at the 1989 Hillsborough Disaster.

I have recently met with Mrs Williams to discuss taking her case forward following the petition reaching 100,000 signatures.

As you may be aware, I recently submitted an application to the Backbench Business Committee to request that a debate be held about Kevin Williams. Unfortunately, the Committee were unable to find time to allocate in the Commons at this time, but upon their advice, I am now pursuing different routes towards securing such a debate.

I am very confident that a debate will be secured in the near future and Mrs Williams is being kept updated on a regular basis with how things are progressing.

I hope that this is helpful and thank you again for taking the time to contact me about this important issue.

Yours sincerely

[signed]

Sent a new mail about the backbencher committee's decision and got the following reply;

Thank you for your email regarding the debate on the petition. The debate scheduled to take place in Westminster Hall is not really any different from a full debate in the House of Commons chamber. Westminster Hall debates were created simply to allow more debates to happen rather than wait for a slot in the main chamber.

The Backbench Committee have been anxious to schedule as many debates resulting from petitions as possible and this is one of achieving it. Many of them attract a lot of interest and the proceedings of the debate will be on the public record (it will be possible to watch it through the Parliament website as well http://www.parliament.uk/).

This debate will not be followed by a vote, but a Government Minister will have to respond to the MPs who contribute. On this occasion, the Government Minister may be the Attorney General himself or another Minister in that department. The purpose of the debate in this case is to raise awareness amongst MPs, the public and crucially with the Minister. By requiring a Minister to come to the Chamber to answer a debate, it will mean that he or she will have had to have been briefed by civil servants and therefore may increase the pressure to make a particular decision. It is impossible to say whether the debate itself would lead to a fresh inquest, but I think it can be viewed as a step forward. It will be interesting to see what the Minister says and what undertakings he gives.

Interesting, let's see what happens next week!

I will send you a copy of the debate next week.

The debate regarding the call for a new inquest for Kevin Williams will be held this afternoon(Wed) in Westminster Hall. Whilst the scope of the debate is limited and there will be no vote as to action, nevertheless, the HJC hopes that there is a thorough discussion as to the reasons why Kevin should have a new inquest. The real benefit of today will be to highlight the injustice regarding Kevin and to add further pressure to the Attorney General to quash the original inquest verdict of accidental death and order a new inquest. We hope that the MP's present, argue the case forcefully as many of them have promised. jf96

great support there from the mps that spoke today, for anne williams, attorney general seemed sincere in what he was saying, I do see the point in waiting for the stuff from the Hillsborough panel to come out first, this should give unequivocal weight of evidence to force a new inquest

A former policewoman has claimed she was coerced into changing her evidence about the Hillsborough disaster.

Debra Martin said two West Midland Police officers pressured her to change a statement on the tragedy.

Ms Martin, on duty in the stadium in 1989 when 96 Liverpool fans died, said her evidence related to the death of 15-year-old Kevin Williams....

Got the following response from my local MP (Chris White) in Warwick and Leamington, he is a Conservative but i thought it was decent...

Thank you also for contacting me about the Kevin Williams case and the Hillsborough disaster.

Hillsborough was a terrible tragedy - a tragedy that must never be repeated. The pain of this horrendous day still lives on right across the United Kingdom. As the Bishop of Liverpool has said, the disaster and its aftermath inflicted a deep wound in the body of the Merseyside community which remains to this day.

The victims of this terrible tragedy, including Kevin Williams, should not and will not be forgotten. 96 people lost their lives on this terrible day and I believe that their families deserve the truth.

I cannot comment on individual cases; however I can assure you that I am aware that the Attorney General, Dominic Grieve QC MP, is looking at the applications made to his predecessors, to determine whether in his view, the evidence available supports an application to the Court for a new inquest.

I hope that this response is useful, but if you do wish to get back in contact with me, please do not hesitate to do so.

Yours sincerely,

Chris

Got the following response from my local MP (Chris White) in Warwick and Leamington, he is a Conservative but i thought it was decent...

Think you'll find it's pretty similar to the reply I got from my conservative MP, a few changes here and there, but basically a generic reply it seems.......

Some of you may have read on several social network sites and fan forums that the HJC has offered to pay all legal fees for Anne Williams as she peruses her case through the British and European legal systems.

We would like to set the records straight that The For Justice charity was formally contacted by the HJC in February and we subsequently requested a meeting to discuss the particulars of their assistance. To date, the HJC has not replied to any of our emails confirming if their offer still stands. Whilst we find this extremely disappointing we are now lead to believe their assistance to pay Anne Williams legal fees no longer remains. Nevertheless we are still fully committed to supporting the HJC in the continued fight for justice and would welcome any future assistance the HJC may wish to offer.

For Justice is a registered charity regulated by the Charity Commission and we are dedicated to supporting the families and survivors of the Hillsborough disaster. We are currently assisting Anne Williams with legal costs in the fight for justice for Kevin Daniel Williams. At present Anne has significant evidence that without doubt clearly proves Kevin Williams was alive until just before 4pm on 15th April 1989. A recent e-petition signed by over 118,000 people calling for Parliament to debate the case of Kevin Williams clearly shows the support behind her case. This evidence was also recently debated in Parliament at Westminster Hall on the 22nd February 2012 were it was supported by several MP’s that Kevin Williams should receive the new inquest he rightly deserves.

At present Kevin Williams is the only case from the Hillsbough tragedy currently in progress through the legal system. This can be a lengthy and costly process and we are asking for the support that we may raise sufficient funds for Anne to continue with this legal case. We have been contacted by several fans who wish to raise funds ranging from parachute jumps to fund raising nights and we would encourage all to follow suit and support these events.

To enable us to raise sufficient funds you can set up a monthly direct debit directly to the charity account. All we are asking for is what you can afford during this difficult financial climate we find ourselves in, if it is 50p then that is enough to pay for a letter to an MP, if its £10 then that enough to pay for a box of leaflets.

If you wish to set up a direct debit however small you can request your bank to make a monthly payment to the following Sort Code: 09-01-28 Account Number: 01436214 Account Name: For Justice. For our friends from overseas our Paypal account is red4ever@blueyonder.co.uk. As we are a register charity you can complete a gift aid form http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/charities/appendix_b1.pdf and email it to red4ever@blueyonder.co.uk.

Can you please post this on any social network or fan forums that you are a member of to raise the awareness of the charity.

Thank you for your continued support

4pool.  Has the charity thought to contact the Hillsborough Family Support Group.  Rafa donated £96,000 to them not so long ago, so they should have ample funds to assist Anne.   :wave
Rather a day as a lion than a lifetime as a sheep.

I can only be nice to one person a day.  Today is not your day.  Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.
I tried being reasonable.  I didn't like it.

Maggie, I asked someone in the know. This is what I received:

When the HJC failed to return our emails we contacted the Hillborough Family Support Group but to date we have not received a reply.

Latest updates from the HJC:

"One of our members has received a message indicating that Hope for Hillsborough are under the impression that the HJC have withdrawn their offer to pay any legal costs arising from a new inquest for Kevin Williams. This is not true. The HJC remains true to it's long term commitment to support the fight for justice for Kevin and all Hillsborough victims. There will be no reneging on the offer of support." - HJC, March 24th, 8.34pm

and

"The HJC has written (via email) to HFH and reaffirmed it's commitment of support. It has communicated this very clearly and simply so as there can be no misunderstanding." - HJC March 25th 1.43pm
