We are a midtable team.

We werent when I looked this morning

We're seventh. And we finished last season 6th (being far worse for most of the season) and the season before that 7th. I didn't know this has a top club written all over it. This is mid-table, sorry to break your concentration.

And on top of that, we've decided to also act as a mid-table team on the transfer market, bringing in average players way above their actual value (with exception of Suarez, who, after all, is one of the most problematic footballers in the world).

It is worth to take a punt on the youngest players to play in Bundesliga and an important part of Dortmund team as a teenager, just to give another example. I'm talking about Nuri Sahin, who cost Real Madrid 10M euros. Or one of the constitutive parts of Germany's NT and a world renowned player at the age of 21, for 10M pounds (Ozil). It would be worth to take a punt on Mario Gomez, who had a bad patch and was offered to us by Bayern, but instead we opted not to go after one of the most prolific players in one of the biggest leagues in the world (for quite some time) etc.

People really should rethink what the meaning of "taking a chance" actually is. Because it's not buying 27-year old players for 10M pounds from very very average leagues. And it's definitely not splashing 35M pounds on a player that had six good months in Premier league, which was supposed to show some kind of intent by the club, but we just made ourselves look like idiots to the whole world.

No. No he isn't.
If we continue down the road of signing average players we will be a mid table team

Jelavic? I would have to seriously question those in charge if we sign this guy. He is not good enough. Hooper and Stokes at Celtic are in the same class as Jelavic and we wouldn't dream of signing either of them. I know it's only a rumour but I'll be thoroughly depressed if this comes to fruition

Nitpicking. So according to your brilliant logic only teams finishing 10th are mid-table. Laughable.

Not seen a lot of him but he reminds me a bit of Ronnie Rosenthal when I do see him. Anyone who's seen him more care to weigh in?

So Stoke are not a midtable team anymore? Funny.

Midtable teams have almost no chance of winning the league and have very little chance of reaching Champions League, which is the only relevant European cup. They also play in Carling Cup like it's some important competition and not a Mickey Mouse cup.

And whether we're a midtable team at this point in time is besides the point actually, fans always overrate their own teams, which is a fact. It's more depressing to see we're de facto acting like a mid-table team, even if the table and our history shows otherwise. Heck, even mid-table teams aren't after Jelly fish, it's Championship teams and teams fighting survival - the same as happened with Charlie fucking Adam. We were the only team actually interested in him for that kind of money. Yeah, a big-club written all over it.

God help Liverpool (and he'll be the only one that will be able to do anything) if we'll have non-critical fans, saying we should take a punt with every player we're linked to.

God help Liverpool if fans can't have faith that Kenny Dalglish knows what he is looking for in his transfer targets. We have coaching staff who are trying to build a team, and buy players to fit into that team.

Either you have faith in that process, or you basically have no faith that Kenny knows what he is doing.
