It is worth to take a punt on the youngest players to play in Bundesliga and an important part of Dortmund team as a teenager, just to give another example. I'm talking about Nuri Sahin, who cost Real Madrid 10M euros. Or one of the constitutive parts of Germany's NT and a world renowned player at the age of 21, for 10M pounds (Ozil). It would be worth to take a punt on Mario Gomez, who had a bad patch and was offered to us by Bayern, but instead we opted not to go after one of the most prolific players in one of the biggest leagues in the world (for quite some time) etc.
People really should rethink what the meaning of "taking a chance" actually is. Because it's not buying 27-year old players for 10M pounds from very very average leagues. And it's definitely not splashing 35M pounds on a player that had six good months in Premier league, which was supposed to show some kind of intent by the club, but we just made ourselves look like idiots to the whole world.
