They can turn the engine down to save fuel too
I know, but wouldn't it be best to turn it up at the end?

I knew that Jenson pit stop was quick at the time, but 2.4 seconds the fastest in F1 history.

History meaning a couple years. It was impossible to make these times with refueling.

Horner is coming across as a right tit here. I know you have to defend your driver but he's then deflected the argument onto Hamilton for unlapping himself by overtaking vettel.

No, back in the nineties they had no refuelling and were doing sub 3 seconds, McLaren in particular in the Senna days.

Yep, watch the slo mo of the pass, Vettels car was sliding wide, it was going sideways, so their argument of giving Jenson room is bollocks.

1984-1993, then from 2010 on. And I suspect things have improved in many ways in 30 years...

It was an impressive stop, but the "best in history" thing is a bit meaningless in F1, with ever changing rules and tech.

Google? My info is from memory. Anyway, it was a very impressive stop that will take some beating.

I prefer Ferrari getting every stop right in about 3 seconds rather than what McLaren do

Yes Degs, but they seem to be putting their recent problems behind them in terms of pitstops. Now they just need to improve the car a bit more, and also a bit of good luck for Lewis.

I checked the exact dates, found them here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Formula_One_regulations

I used to watch F1 back then as well, but frankly I couldn't remember they made under 3s then. I remember they had massively wider rear wheels then. That alone would make comparisons useless.

Ok mate, fair do's. They did do some under 3 secs, not many though.

20 second penalty for Vettel. That puts Kimi into 3rd.

It was an illegal pass but even so any chance to give Red Bull a penalty this weekend was going to be taken after they arsed around with the engine mapping.

Alonso better than evens already for the championship. Betfair giving 1.94 looks a bit generous to me, I wouldn't expect Alonso not to add up week in week out, even if RB and McLaren improve their cars.

Another GP, another investigation into Red Bull. If it turns out they've been adjusting the suspension while in parc ferme surely they have to be disqualified from the constructors championship?

Where did you hear that? I've been well out of the loop since the Olympics started. I know nothing about what's going on.

Hamilton was on fire today and leaving himself with two sets of new options for Q3 was pretty good too.  He better turn this into a win.

Doesn't look like they are under investigation in fact, but the story seems to allude to them having used the same setup all season.

They had to change a part on their suspension (stewards told them too) .....

Debate as to whether they could have changed ride height... I reckon it's a storm in a tea cup.

not so easy to find english ones. Bloodzeed sometimes shows F1 but I've watched the last few on a spanish broadcast (can't remember the channel # but can post it here before the race if you need it)
