Poor midfield choice for me, but what is Kenny meant to do if Lucas is injured and Stevie not ready to play a full 90? Seriously seriously need to spend some cash in the January transfer market and spend it wisely this time.

We got beat and we deserved it. Individual errors against a quality team who weren't playing very well but defended stoutly and converted their chances.

we could have played for another 4 hrs and we wouldn't have scored downing was poor Carroll had no impact on the game as he had no service but city were shite if am honest did not look threatening until we made the mistakes

Downing is not good enough. All he does is run 5 yards, see his opposition fullback, turn around and give it to his full back. Rinse and repeat.

Decent performance away to the team at the top of the league, unfortunately mistakes cost us. Lacking a bit of cutting edge but some positives to be taken.

Well that’s the oddest 3-0 defeat I think I’ve watched.

-   First goal saw the ball do something outrageous in the air
-   We then look the better team
-   City score against run of play
-   We then look better team
-   City down to 10 men = hope
-   City get a very dodgy penalty = game over

What is clear is that Kompany is a better defender than Carroll is a striker. Spearing was good. Downing wasn’t good.

I thought we did well between the 2 boxes today, but when we concede 3 really cheap goals and is this toothless up front it doesn't really matter.

Henderson and Spearing did really well in my opinion.

plenty of endevour but very little quality in the final third.

City were always going to be difficult away so the loss shouldn't come as a complete shock.

We cant cross, we have no midfield and we we dont have a striker. Period

We need a player like Silva. Sees the holes in the midfield. The amount of times we were on the sidelines and Im screaming for someone to get in the holes. No one there.

Downing runs up half the pitch. Stops. Turns around and passes it back.

For some reason we only ever seem to have 1 player in the box. Fuck me has no one got any gumption to get in the bloody box to help Andy.

Downing is a waste of £20million. Get rid of Comolli, get rid of Downing and get rid of Carroll. LFC will be better off.

We weren't great ourselves. Decent at best. Listened to most of the game on the radio then gave up after 3-0. Striker, winger, needed. Game 1 without Suarez. Roll on Oldham.

It's very very frustrating to watch. I wasn't that disappointed with the rest of our play until the red card. We were awful after that.

So many goals conceeded from set pieces. Corners and penalties to be more precise.

Pretty awful, although not as shite as Spurs away.

Terrible passing. Crossing was fucking deplorable and I lost count the number of second balls that no-one at all was anywhere near. Our reading of the game was not there.

Bad day at the office against a pretty bloody good side. We got punished and as Forrest Gump said "That's all I have to say about that"

We were unlucky. Not only unlucky to lose 3-0 but unlucky to lose generally.

Not ruthless enough up front, but then their goals weren't exactly silky.

Overall I wouldn't say this was anything to be top worried about, but most people probably will.

We were victims of our own downfall. Shocking error from Reina (and Kuyt before). Poor defending on the corner. And the third, just shite.

They go down to 10 men, we have a free kick, and within 30 seconds, we are 3-0 down. Just really, really, really poor from everyone involved.

A few tweets there with my thoughts. Kind of sums it all up to be honest. City are currently the benchmark at the top, but we are aiming for 4th at the moment. Need to move on from this one, and try and learn from our mistakes.

So frustrating, but we definitely didn't deserve 3-0 loss. Downing needs to man up. He's a good player, but he tends to be scared to take someone on or do something. Henderson was good, he's showed the kind of character needed, as has Spearing.

Tonight we were fairly toothless in the final third, just aimlessly tossing balls 15 feet in the air hoping Carroll may out-jump the three city defenders camped around him. It is one thing saying we need another option upfront, and maybe we do, but we don't appear to have a plan b or c once the aimless tossing of the ball 15 ft in the air gets boring. Worrying.
