They have been around at the same time but I don't think all three players have been at their best at the same time.

In 2008 Federer was hampered badly by Mono and he really struggled, even though his results on paper in the Grand Slams (final of the French, semi of the Australian Open) suggested that he didn't. He wasn't as good as he was in the previous years when he lost at Wimbledon to Nadal. Not to say Nadal still wouldn't have beaten him, but he wasn't at 2004 - 2007 form.

Also, Djokovic has kicked on massively in the last 18 months to 2 years but Nadal has struggled with injuries and I still don't think he is as good as he was before the knee injury that kept him out of Wimbledon.

So while they all have played at the same time, I don't think either of the 3 have been at their peak ability (not age) at the same time.

You're right they have not been at their best, but you can see the quality above the pack in their performances that despite those setbacks for Roger and Nadal they still reached GS Finals, sometimes with ease. Aussie Open Final 2009 and this years Aussie Open Final were the best tennis matches I have ever seen.
Would sacrifice Fordy in a sacred Mayan ritual to have him as the next Liverpool manager

Be disappointing if Nadal or Djokovic somehow come of out of the modern (90s onwards) era as the greatest... in my mind they don't particularly rate against Sampras, Federer, or even Agassi, but their record certainly speaks for itself.

Bit harsh that. Nadal's record alone at RG is worthy of those you have mentioned.

Be surprised if anyone surpasses Federer and his record.

Just to add a quick point to this argument, IMO, if Nadal hadn't got that knee injury in 2009 Federer would still be stuck on 14 slams.

Both great players IMO although i'm not sure how many more Nadal can win with the emergence of Djokovic. If he keeps on improving on clay and maintains his dominance of the faster courts i think ND could well overtake Nadal's 11 slams.

Nadal will still pick up Grand Slams away from clay, it's absurd to suggest otherwise. He should've won the Australian Open this year, and he keeps reaching the final of Wimbledon and the US Open. It's Murray that needs to worry about not winning any, and Federer too to a slightly lesser extent. Djokovic will pick up a fair few over the next 5 years, as will Nadal, it's that simple.

5 years is a very long time. Historically the greatest players only won grand slams in 7 years. This is year 7 for Nadal. Although considering the lack of talent coming up from younger generation he might break the record. Right now his only competition is Djokovic.

I hope Murray wins one day, but it's very hard for him. He's gonna need some luck like at least one of top 3 being injured or something.

I don't think Murray will ever win Wimbledon. US Open or Australian Open are his best chances.

So Djokovic to win Wimbledon? I don't think Nadal can beat him on Grass (yet).

I think Nadal has a big chance. Djokovic only has 1 wimbledon title, it's not like Nadal is a newbie to Grass.

Federer (despite naming myself after him on here) is some way behind Djokovic and Nadal these days, even on grass. I wouldn't rule him out but I'd be very surprised if he wins another Slam.

Nadal would be my favourite, if not by much. He's taken three in a row against Djokovic now (all on clay though) after losing seven straight before that, and Djokovic isn't in the same incredible form he was last year.

Yes, but now Djokovic is the best on grass. Nadal can beat Djokovic on hard court, I think, and will probably always beat him on clay at Roland Garros. But since he has been at the top, Djokovic cannot be beaten on grass, IMO, Federer notwithstanding.

The German Tommy Haas received a wildcard into Wimbledon on Tuesday, a generous offer on the part of the All England Club. Had it known that he would then turn on the country's finest player, it might have thought better of it.

At 34, Haas is making yet another comeback after injury but he has called out Andy Murray for "looking like he is injured … and then moving like a cat". In an interview with German TV at a tournament in Halle, Haas claimed that "everyone in the locker room knows about it and talks about it".

"It's difficult when you play against someone who is walking on the court like he is not well or is injured," Haas said. "I find no one does this better than Andy Murray, from time to time. Sometimes he looks like he can barely move, then comes the trainer and then he moves like a cat. I believe everyone knows this now. People talk about it in the locker room.

"Maybe he would like to take some pressure off himself. He tells himself, maybe I have a niggle or a problem, I am not feeling too well, but I'm going to try it anyway. But he is such a talented player that he really doesn't need [to do] this."

The criticism is unlikely to sit well with Murray. When the Scot suffered a back spasm before his second-round match in Paris, the former Wimbledon champion Virginia Wade made similar comments to Haas and was immediately shot down by Murray, who said that she did not know how he was feeling.

Murray says he is over the spasm and that a separate niggle, which had been affecting him on and off since December, has improved immensely, to the extent that he will be 100% when he plays his first match here on Wednesday, against the Frenchman Nicolas Mahut.

Mahut, one half of the longest match in history with John Isner at Wimbledon in 2010, defeated Guillermo García-López of Spain 6-4, 6-2 on Tuesday and said that he expected Murray to be fighting fit on Wednesday. "I think if he's playing this week, he's ready to play," Mahut said. "Otherwise he won't take any risk for Wimbledon. If he plays, that means he's ready."

Huh? Grass is Djocovic's worst surface. Nasal will not beat him on hard court. On clay Nadal is favorite, on grass it's more like 50-50 IMO.

I agree with that, Rafa seems to have figured out how to play Novak and though it was on clay Nadal attacked and more importantly gained confidence from doing so. Wimbledon will be very interesting, with a Nadal/Djokovic final very likely. I'm not sure Roger can last against these two anymore in a Grand Slam format particularly as he would more than likely have to beat both of them to win a title. Djokovic is still favourite on the hardcourt though, his flat shots are deadly.
