Send a card in support of Luis Suarez
« on: December 21, 2011, 12:17:15 am »
A bad time for the lad and his family, he must be gutted at the way the FA have treated him. As fans we need to show him we support him and believe in his innocence. An easy way to do this is to send him a christmas card saying that we support him. When Rafa needed support we did something similar so let's do the same for Luis, go to Moonpig or a similar site and let him know we care.

I'd sent it to the club, sure they will forward it on:

C/O Liverpool Football Club,
Anfield Road,
Liverpool,
L4 0TH

Obviously you can't publish his address on a public forum, ESPECIALLY not at a time like this. Sending it to the club isn't a bad shout though.

Shouldn't we wait for the FA to release the evidence for their conviction before doing things like this?

what about starting a new topic in which everybody can write down his words for Luis.
Then we can send all the statements to the Club at one big letter or something.

I hope you get the idea.

Just support Suarez at the games. The club looks like it has the situation under control with all the politics involved.

The fine is less than a week's wages for him. I love him, but I'm not giving him any money!

We should do something for an ANTI-racism group in the near future though.

Agree with sending him a xmas card. Everybody on twitter can also show him their support.

My only thought about it is that it would show what support he has from liverpool fans its not about the money not at all and that's why a pound to us wouldn't be an issue...but to actually pay the fine would be something else. Not for a moment do I think it would ever happen...

No.  If the club feel they can be 100% behind Luis, then we should as well.  No way would they stick their neck out as much as they have done unless they were certain that Luis had not acted in a racist manner.

Spot on, and the mosaic is a great one and i dont think the club would have a problem with it as well.  :)

Good idea will get on to moonpig in a moment.

Another idea on top of that would be for us all to DM him on twitter so that he doesn't have scrawl through many twits twatting abuse at him.

why not set a paypal account or similar for all the fans around the world like myself, and those that wish so could donate £1 min and ALL the money goes to kick it out in Suarez's name.

Am I the only person on here that is livid that Suarez gets himself into these situations?! Don't get me wrong I think Evra is a complete prick but Suarez should know his reputation and steer clear! He will get my support at the match, no doubt, but Im pissed off!

Look at Messi, he gets booted left, right and centre because everyone knows his quality, they try to wind him up, but it doesn't work. He shows what he's about with his football.

Why can't Suarez do the same?! Now we are left in the shit, as he is our best player at the min.

I'm now waiting for the shit I'm going to get for being honest :)

show racism the red card and  kick it out seem to strongly support Suarez' punishment before hearing the full reasons (e.g. "the decision is 100% correct" how do they know?)

kick it out representatives even saw fit to judge suarez prior to the verdict.

i'm not going to give you a hard time for holding that opinion as I agree it is of course totally down to suarez whether or not to play these games with evra.

BUT... banter/abuse happens all the time in these situations
... Suarez himself (and the  club) doesn't consider what he said to be racist
...i'm sure messi has had on or two choice words to say to defenders who have hacked at him, or in adversarial situations at corners

He probably has had choice words to say BUT he doesn't get like Suarez does, maybe Suarez needs some anger management lessons?

Im asian, and IF those words were said in a derogatory manner then it's right, and personally I don't want somebody like that playing in a red shirt. BUT it's all if's and but's as no concrete evidence has been shown.

That's right, no evidence as of yet and the club and Suarez vehemently deny any such charge and the suspension and fine. I'll stick by that unless any actual evidence comes to light.
