It wasn't pretty, it wasn't sexy, but it is three points in the bag. With Newcastle losing again to Norwich, we've overtaken them to 6th and (assuming that City steamroll Chelsea like they should) we're only 2 points off of Chelsea and 3 points off of Arse. If we win the rest of the matches this week, we should roll into the new year in 4th.

Suarez was pulled over in the box, in the first half but Mason ignored it as if it didn't really happen.

Bellamy getting booked for no real reason. Barton was in the vicinity yet avoided a yellow card much to Bellamy's suprise.

Gave QPR quite a few of soft freekicks in the last 20 mins in our half.

Some of the reasons why people are moaning about the ref. And rightly so.

Every single team that played today will have had decisions that went against them at some point in the match.  Its pointless moaning about the ref.

Good victory today, 16 corners says it all really but we need to be more clinical in front of goal. or we'll keep dropping points.

Whatever decisions went against other teams would up to their supporters to moan about... which they most likely do.

Then again, there's moaning... and then there's pointing out a quite sub-par, inconsistent job done.
Why waste time moaning about that.

3 points, a clean sheet and a league goal for Suarez. In light of Monday's result, and the shitstorm that's been going on over disciplinary matters all week, I'll happily take that. Well done to all the lads.

Missed the match, judging by the thread it doesn't seem like it was a pretty win but whatever 3 points. Will catch it on MOTD later. Newcastle got destroyed too which is a good bonus.

3 much needed points, Suarez back scoring, a clean sheet, another assist for Adam.  I'll take that for now, the negatives and criticisms can wait for another day

almost repeat of previous games at anfield. dominate the game, get shitload of chances, get a goal then let them equalise, end up with the draw nearly. We really need to finish those chances. Against a better team we are going to pay for those misses, we already have lost silly points and if that continue we are unlikely to get into top 4. we need to finish those chances then we could easily be in top 4.
The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.

I know i've been banging on about it all season so far, but again, we didn't use the bloody bench to give us fresh impotous early enough. After the goal, players went on holiday. We waiting until the 77th minute before making a change.  This trend is really worrying me.

We can talk and talk and talk about qualities, and tactics present or the lack of them. The fact is, if we had two of these results against any of Sunderland, Swansea, Norwich, Utd or City (I can't quite remember which of these finished 1-1 and which ones 0-0, but the point stands) we would be sitting on 30 points now and we would have been talking about title and not top 4. So yeah, more of these performances and we will get to top 4 at the end of the season.

I was skeptical about Charlie Adam, but after some of the less energetic performances in the initial part of the season, boy, he has stepped up and I am gladly eating humble pie. How many goals is he now involved in out of the 17 we have scored so far? Does anyone know?

Think we have hit the woodwork the most times as well...

2 more times we've hit the woodwork.

Now makes it 14 times in 15 league games (and 2 missed pens), and 17 in 19 league and cup games (and 3 missed pens).

Some food for thought for people who say we dont score enough.

Just got back. Pleased with the win but the referee, again, was a fucking joke. That corner he gave for us which wasn't, and the blatent joke of a decision that followed it, was absolutely criminal.

Biggest negative today was Anfield.

When Kenny got the job he said we all had our part to play.

The 100% effort from the owners, the staff and the players is there for all to see.

Can we as fans honestly say the same?

Agree with the Arsenal comments. Always trying to walk the ball into the net.

Maxi should have shot instead of trying to play in Suarez in the first half and there's a few other examples of similar instances.

Delighted with 3 points. I'd take that every week.  8)

He said "fuck off" in the direction to the ref.

Other than that he didn't give us much.

He said that after his first "foul" though. He was booked for something else a few mins later. Fuck knows what it was though

I think Maxi made the right call myself. Suarez had more room for the shot than Maxi did, both of them were on their wrong foot and if you're going to shoot wrong footed it's a lot easier to place it a bit (which Suearez had the option of) rather than having to hit with power (which Maxi would have had to to score when he did have that bit of space).

We are extremely hard to beat and to score against at the minute. Once we get the attacking side to our game right I think we could go places. Arsenal are very much the same but Spurs are always dangerous and score plenty of goals so they are my worry in the race for 4th.

4 games coming up now which will make or break our season IMO; Villa and Wigan away then Blackburn and Newcastle at home. 9 or 10 points is what I'd hope for.
