Farfan, Hoilett, Arshavin, and Rodallega

Farfan and Hoilett would really help improve our wing situation.  I think that if Arshavin was actually played in the middle for once, say just behind suarez?, he'd be really good and shine in this league.  Hugo would just be good back up

If I had my pick out of that list I´d take Cahill, De Rossi, Hoilett and maybe Farfan and Adler.. I love Reina but there´s always the chance he´ll go back home to spain or somewhere.. Adler is 26? and would be an awesome replacement on a free. Good opportunity as great goalkeepers are hard to find and expensive to buy. Plus we need at least one german in our team to get that famous discipline.

So according to the Italian media De Rossi has all but said goodbye. Soooo ... anyone got a spare €180k+ that he's willing to pay on our behalf?

De Rossi next to Lucas with Gerrard in front would be a truely magnificent midfield.   Hoilett would be handy too:

                      Reina
Johnson   Agger   Skrtel   Enrique
         Henderson   De Rossi
    Downing   Gerrard   Hoilett
                      Suarez
Doni, Carroll, Bellamy, Adam,  Maxi, Kelly, Coates

That'd be a very good team for the rest of the season, even better when Lucas returns and if we could get a goal scorer like Huntelaar.

Well, only City, PSG, Real and Barca can pay that kind of wages. And, City need a defensive midfielder. So, City are definitely the favs.

De rossi will most likely end up at real madrid. Mourinho has wanted him for ages and he would be the perfect partner for alonso as there midfield apart from xabi isn't that fantastic.

I still think he'll stay at Roma, but if he were to leave City would be definite front runners for him.

What?

I think he meant apart from Xabi none of their midfielders are fantastic and to an extent he is right as well. Lassana and Khedira are good but you won't term them as fantastic.

I don't care how old he is... What I would give to see del Piero in a Liverpool shirt run out at Anfield, God only knows. But of the list of useful and even potentials, Hoilett in an instant, and Drogba if he'd come, which I highly doubt.

I'd be a little sad, to be completely honest. He's been at Juve his entire career. It would be akin to seeing Gerrard run out in a Milan kit, just wouldn't seem right.

Farfan, Hoilett, Arshavin, and Rodallega

Farfan and Hoilett would really help improve our wing situation. I think that if Arshavin was actually played in the middle for once, say just behind suarez?, he'd be really good and shine in this league.  Hugo would just be good back up
That's his best position actually. Wenger always plays him on the wings though.

I've always rated Arshvin. Looked brilliant before he came to Arsenal and then brilliant every time he played against us.

Would love to see De Rossi in a Liverpool shirt, not sure how realistic it is though.
Also think that Del Piero(wouldnt care if he was 68,still have him),Montolivo,Kalou(squad player),Hoilett and Rodallega(back up) could all have something to over Liverpool.
Always had a soft spot for Chivu as well but not sure what role he would have at Liverpool.

Not at all realistic. The wages he'd want are just too high.

Do quite like the idea of Montolivo though.

De Rossi has spent far too long at Roma.  He would find it dificult to adapt to the pace of the Premier League and time is not on his side.

He'd be better off in Spain.

Turned down a 180k p/week offer and has said something on the lines of "guess I'm not signing here, any takers?"

Makes you realise what these top top players are actually going for and why the likes of Downing, Henderson and Adam represent good value.

Also makes me wonder how the fuck we ever thought we were going to sign Sneijder on £250k pw. Isn't Gerrard still on £120kpw?
