Last couple years has been prime rib, but this year it's barbecue from some place.

At least this time my aunt is paying for the meat. Everytime it's us my ma who has to host and spring for the meal.

Traditional with all the trimmings, then up to the sofa with a brandy & Bailey's on crushed ice and proceed to get fucked up.

Spot on mate.  First, a load of hand-shaking and ale in the pub early doors followed by a nice refreshing wander home to a traditional Turkey dinner... then the Brandy and Baileys comes out. Love it!!

My ma is used to a tiny sherry glass full of Baileys.  Went round there one Boxing Day and in one sitting emptied her unopened bottle of Duty Free Baileys along with my Dad's bottle of Greek Metaxa.

They are coming to ours this year so she can have a sherry glass full ofmy Baileys.  ;D

We had Turkey, Roast Parsnips (fresh & Aunt Bessies), Mayan Gold Roast Potatoes (fucking lovely) and loads of veg and pigs in blankets. We ate it on Christmas Eve as Debs was working an afternoon shift on Christmas Day.
Best dinner ever....mmmmmmmmmmmmm

Felt like I was in the kitchen all day today. Started preparing the turkey at about 11.30am, didn't eat until about 6pm. Anyway, apart from the fact it was all served up about half an hour later than I'd said, I'd say it was spot on. We had turkey, pigs in blankets, roasties, honey-glazed carrots and parsnips, home-made sage and onion stuffing, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, yorkshire puddings, redcurrant sauce and home-made gravy. Then trifle to follow. I'm still very full.

Sounds epic fella, did a pretty similar round myself today, although made a cheesecake first. Feel like right fat bastard right now, but happier everyone else enjoyed it to be honest.

Yeah, I love cooking, but only if the people eating it actually think it's been worth waiting for! There's also only so much time I can spend sitting in the living room watching films or listening to whatever music my dad decides to use to showcase his latest piece of hi-fi, so it's nice to keep myself busy in the kitchen. Somehow I've found myself in charge of cooking steak for everyone tomorrow night too.
