Sure was. Until Carter murdered him.  ;D

Still the greatest dunk ever!

Europeans play better defense than anyone else.

Really? Who is Andrea, the number 1 draft pick?

A player who shouldn't have been picked no1.

A should clarify what I said because it's not true and a stupid comment. You can't really generalize to say one continent plays better defense than another, I was motivated by a probably tongue-in-cheek about a 'soft euro'. I do believe that European's play excellent half-court team defense. As a raptors fan you will no doubt disagree having to put up with Bargnani and Calderon, but defense is an underrated part of European basketball, not that I'm knowledgeable on it. Look at Rubio for a Euro who knows how to defend. I think defending is only partially being able to stay in front of your man or being able to jump higher than him, which is the part euros can struggle with. It's about focus, about position and doing your work early, about allowing certain things and not others, about knowledge, and very much about communication (love KG at this part). You can get away with not focusing on a lot of the second part if you have the athletics, and I think Euros adapt by being proficient in the second part. I just think there is so much isolation offense and focus on 1v1 defending in the NBA that it doesn't always lend itself being a smart defender, so I think the softness tag that goes along with not being able to play the tightest of man-defense and make huge blocks is undeserved.

I mean look at the defending on that Blake dunk. Kobe doesn't stay anywhere near Butler, doesn't try and fight over the pick, doesn't try and slide under it, Bynum never tries to jam Blake or stay between Blake and the ring to make him hit a jump shot from the wing if he still gets it (would force Kobe to be too accountable  :-X). Instead Bynum tries to sort of help, which results in a kinda homeless-mans double-team which really provides no pressure, and Blake is rolling into a land of space and by then its too late for poor old Pau.

So Dwight Howard is a piece of shit

Sure is. I said it after the Knicks beat the hell out of them last week, he was trying to get VanGundy fired. I wouldn't want him. What's he do besides dunk? He's a rebounder for sure, but he has no offensive game to speak of. No baby hook, no short jumper, no drop step to the bucket, no nothing. He relies on his width to clear the lane.

Guys you got to watch that video with SVG and Dwight.Awkward is an understatement.

Another big win, Yiannis :). Heart attack material towards the end, but yet again, Granger gets it done. I'd happily take Orlando in the first round after the lastest saga. That's if they make the playoffs, hehe.

I like the look of that Turkish big on the Bulls, but they're already so deep he must have a hard time getting off of the bench.

Nice game. It's a shame he and Amare can't seem to get on the same page.

Just saw the Wizards-Bobcats "highlights."  Paul Silas should save himself the trouble and just get a palm print tattooed on his face.

One of the Bobcats players grabbed a defensive board but got confused by the expiring shot clock and just started walking the ball up the court.

That whole highlight package was hilarious. The Bobcats should take Lamar Odom of my Mavs hands, imagine how much better they could be? ;D

Sad thing is that - between Chandler, Fields, Shumpert, Lin, Novak, even J.R. - the Knicks, sans Amar'e, would have a really promising roster.  You're a Knicks fan, yeah? What do you see happening / what would you want to happen?  Can you get anything for STAT's uninsured knees?

We won't get anything of note for Stoudamire. Maybe expiring contracts while being forced to pay most of his salary. For that reason, I think we're stuck with him, but I really wish someone could get him to stop the pouting and change his game. Rebound the ball, play good defense, stop worrying about getting the ball in your precious pick and rolls and expecting the point guard to cater to you. This ain't Phoenix and D'Antoni is gone now, it's time to step it up, IF he can stay healthy. Imagine Amare actually applying himself at the defensive end with Chandler next to him. They could be the best interior defense in the league. IF, IF, IF

If Amare has been shit at defense his whole life, how could he possibly become a defender now? Its impossible.

Yep.  I really like Amar'e.  (I think those Suns teams really weren't far off a title; though it was the perfect storm of the D'Antoni system, Phx's medical team and of course God Nash.)  But I think he might be the least moveable contract in the league, Joe Johnson notwithstanding.

Saw on a comments section someone suggesting deal him to Milwaukee for Ellis and Drew Gooden.  I don't see why the Bucks would do that.  But I'd eat those contracts if I'm NY.  Neither of those players do anything for you right now but individually they're easier to shift.  That trade might not be realistic but if you can find something similar, I think you should.  Find a way to make capspace and the Knicks will always be a player in free agency.

Or see if the Nets are even more desperate?  STAT + Lin for Deron.

I'm as happy as the next guy about the Knicks having some gifted players who play hard for each other and the coach, especially on defense.

But if they beat the Bulls tonight--and against a pissed-off Derrick Rose, that's a big IF--the New York media will be insufferable.

I'd still take it, though.

Paul Pierce hasn't always been a winner. He has won one title in a long career that has seen Boston completely irrelevant for large chunks of it. His team sucks ass now.

Also I still don't gamble much, but am willing to make an exception to prove you wrong (again)

Boston made an obscene number of contested jump shots tonight. It's really hard to do that four times in a seven game series.

The Nets are and have always been my favorite NBA team. We've been over this. I probably won't follow them to Brooklyn in my support.

The NBA is by far my least favorite of the big four sports leagues, and the Nets - even if they were good - would take a back seat to the Giants, Phillies, Liverpool, Devils, Georgetown basketball, USMNT, Duke basketball, and Rutgers football.

This year my big rooting interest is pulling for a Miami-OKC final. I think that would just be amazing.
