Like others have said on the post match thread, I actually felt sorry for him today.  Taking him off at St James's Park in front of 50.000 fans who had done nothing but boo and slag him off all game would have been humiliating for him.

So what? That doesnt give him the right to act like a petulant child and throw a tantrum in front of everyone does it?

Disgusting attitude.

He was humiliated... All he did was walk down the tunnel, hardly what I'd called throwing a tantrum.  He was pissed and rightly so.

Dosent mean he was right to walk out like he did though.

A disgrace to the coverted No9 shirt. A chronic mistake that the club need to recognise and rectify in the summer.

You would think he would prefer the goal to the dive.

Why dive when you have an open goal? That or he was so scared of his toes being touched that he lost some balance and just fell over.

I dont think he dived i think he is just that clumsy that he fell over the ball. No currency in him diving, he is not taking the penalty and he needs the goals

I was honestly pleased when we signed him. Thought the price was large, but still I was happy we had him. He was on the up, playing really well. Thought he could be our Rooney. Boy was I wrong. Worst striker I've seen here in a while. I'd rather have Ngog.

Not having that at all.

He was an absolute twat of a person but at least he offered something on the football pitch.

He's been chronically mismanaged since day one. I'm not surprised he reached his boiling point today, especially since his boyhood club have got better since he left. Hardly going to be great for him to go from being a Geordie idol to being heckled and jeered as he's subbed a mere 14 months or so later. His mental state was probably all over the place and his confidence, if there is any left, is completely gone. We'll probably sell him in the summer during the Euros for an undisclosed fee and he'll probably have a revival of form elsewhere, where he isn't a scapegoat, he can get a run of games and he won't be dropped after putting in solid performances, or scoring.

Or more likely his confidence has been shot for months and he panicked and tripped. A bit like some of the stuff that has gone on with Torres at Chelsea.

Apparently, Radio City are saying he's left the stadium.

He can fuck off if true.

First out of the ground then.  At last he's first to something.

He's been chronically mismanaged since day one. he can get a run of games and he won't be dropped after putting in solid performances, or scoring.

No doubt we've failed to get the best out of him, but he's hardly put in a string of performances.  The odd game here and there when he's done ok, but most of the time he's been anonymous.  Can't help but feel he's a problem of the DOF and Manager having two different visions for the team.

Tbf, he won the ball, he won the knockdown to himself, beat off a challenge from the defender, beat the goalie and thought he had won a pen. Not like he fell over with an open goal beckoning.
Ferguson has probably told Moyes that he will be his recommendation to take over.

I think it was halfway between this and a dive. I don't think he had any confidence at all in his ability to score, and therefore allowed himself to fall over when his feet got a bit loosened up. Inexcusable, still.
You know what, I'm writing this here now and I'm going to put it in my signature and leave it there for the next 5 years, no matter how embarrassing it might or might not turn out to be: Jordan Henderson is going to be a fantastic player.

Look at Crouch when he was here. Couldn't buy a goal the first four months or so, but Rafa stuck with him and it paid off in the end, because the management had faith in a player they had spent a considerable sum on and backed him to the hilt to come into some sort of form. When Carroll has had a good game, he's more often than not in recent months had the opportunity to repeat.

Agreed the management haven't stood by him like with Crouch, but on those few occasions when he's been given a mini-run in the side (with Suarez banned for 8 games the team was as tailored to him as we could get with the players available) he's not made a case for being picked.  More often than not he's too static, waiting for the ball to reach him rather than attacking the area it's likely to be.  That's not a criticism you could level at Crouch, even though he is similarly lacking in pace as Carroll.

I've supported the lad for as long as I can - but I have ran out of patience. I feel for Suarez when paired with Carroll, I really do. The lad lacks the basic intelligence of a striker. His movement is poor, his link up play erratic and his first touch terrible. It's the same old story. Despite wanting him to succeed, I have seen no sustained improvement to his form. He is simply not suited to a pass and move team and not of the required standard for our football club.

Whoever signed Carroll and wasted 35M needs to bought to task - whether Kenny or Comolli. One of the biggest - no THE biggest and most expensive mistake in our transfer history.
Liverpool was made for me and I was made for Liverpool.

So what's the point of him being at this club if he doesn't have the confidence to shoot to an open net from ten yards out. If you were to panick to shoot from ten yards out, you really shouldn't be at this club. You're not ever going to get a better chance than an open goal ffs. And he definitely dived - he was not off balance. I've seen the replay about 10 times, and in slow mo bout 3 times. He bottled to take the shot. Even if it was his weaker foot. You could bet if it was any other club he would of slotted it in.

And this has nothing to do with Torres. Torres has atleast tried and attempted to adapt to Chelsea's style of play after seeing 3 different managers in just over a year. After being dropped to the bench, being on the sidelines for sending offs he's still persisted to get through the 'slump' he was in and is starting to get out of at the moment.

Actually I felt a bit sorry for him too but... when he storms down the tunnel and takes the shirt off and throws it to the floor he can fuck right off.

Frustration?

How did the travelling and paying supporters feel but i still heard them singing YNWA at the end meanwhile our Andy was probably already showered and planning his night out on the Toon.

Confidence is a great and fragile thing

I don't buy any this sort of conspiratorial stuff that he missed because it was against Newcastle. He has nothing to gain for it. He's clearly a player who is frustrated by his current plight.

He's looked pretty resigned for most of of his time at Chelsea. If he is now breaking into something akin to form, it might have more to do with the fact Di Matteo has actually been backing him with a regular run of games.

Yes but we only make changes after 70 minutes just like RAFA used to get criticised for doing.
