That's where we need runners coming into the box. Gerrard or Henderson should have been coming onto that pass.

Gerrard did and should of got a freekick. He was pushed off the ball but the ref gave a foul for a "dive" against him.
Hating people because of their color is wrong. And it doesn't matter which color does the hating. It's just plain wrong.

Right, so Big Andy now has to supply the crosses, create his own chances get on the end of his own flick ons and get up to support himself? Fuckin' ell £350 million wouldnt get you that.He should have won us at least 1 penalty. He was being held in a deadlock ffs!
Think you're on of a bit of a wind up meself mate.
See Andy has begun to supply his own crosses and create his own chances ala magnificent Alonsoesque passes from midfield!
Great to finally see someone get on the end of one of his flick ons too. I always had a feeling that a Bellamy/Carroll partnership might work, pity Craig can only play one game a week. Unfortunately, our defence & midfield where absolutely shocking on the day. If they had done their job it would have been 3 points.
Ferguson has probably told Moyes that he will be his recommendation to take over.

One thing I am baffled about is that I thought Downing was bought to (amonst other things) to supply the crosses for Carroll to stick in the net but the 2 never seem to be on the pitch at the same time, not good for either surely?!!
Let's also never forget the 39!

You can be whatever you want. Andy created more chances than our entire midfield combined. And then he completely fluffed a shot that he should have scored, but still.

Not quite sure what you're getting at. How you can claim andy should pull Downing aside and show him how to cross a ball then defend one of the many times said player has played a well weighted cross to him with 'but still' is beyond me. Downing hasn't been good enough but criticising his crossing citing Carroll as someone to teach him something in that department is bizarre

Will he play tomorrow?  If he does i would like to see him with his head between his knees after 70 odd minutes gasping for breathe. Lets start with the basics before we wish for a goal or two.

he looks out of breath most of the game with what he does at the moment, which isnt too much.

So anyone know if there was any truth to Andy heading straight into the tunnel after the whistle? Seems kind of a shit thing to do given the occasion.

Also, he was brought on for 6 minutes because Bellamy was exhausted and decided to jog around like it was a friendly bar the one tussle with Lescott. Really pissed me off seeing that with the whole team running themselves into the ground trying to secure the victory.

You're probably going to get abuse here, and it's harsh to comment on a 6 minute performance really, but I think anyone claiming Carroll has given 100% in his time here is lying. He needs to take a leaf out of Bellamy's book.

Ha, I can handle abuse. Went back and watched it again and he actually came on for Kuyt at 90' so he had 4 minutes. My initial reaction was probably a bit harsh but he was jogging a bit for someone with fresh legs. Oh well, lets hope he plays well against United on Saturday since he's more than likely going to have to start.

First Wembley Final since the 90's and some beauts decide 'I know, I'll go and slag off Andy Carroll, despite him only being on the pitch 4 minutes'.  Modern supporters, eh?

I saw Agger stride upfield, lose the ball and jog back despite City streaming forward at our defence. But I dont go on the Agger thread castigating him. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.

Because people take into consideration the fact Agger would of been demolished because of the intensity of the game from the first minute, and he was never catching up with that break when he lost it, that's common sense surely?

I saw him not trying to close down Hart as the keeper advanced up the pitch with the ball.

Or his first introduction into the game and he gets nudged by Lescott and doesn't even jump for the header. Opinions aren't being formed from a 4 minute spell, they are already there from prior appearances. Everybody who supports LFC was ecstatic last night but not sure what that has to do with commenting on Carroll.

God forbid people wanting Carroll to give his all when he steps on to the pitch, especially when the goals aren't going in for him, there's other things he can do for the team.

Respected posters were calling Carroll shit and wanted him rid for £5m following the Bolton game but it was all good then.

If I were KD (and he may have already tried this), I'd just show him the video clips of his goals while at Newcastle. If there's one way to inspire confidence in a player, that's it. It's proof of what he's capable of and gives him the confidence that he's already got what it takes to perform at that level against the same opposition.

Watching those goals, he showed more passion in one goal there than he's showed in every minute he's played for us combined. The way he attacks the crosses and does whatever it takes was impeccable, his finishing was brilliant, his positioning was ten times better than what he's done for us, his runs were inch-perfect, and what kept it all together was that he had the passion and confidence that Bellamy shows.

Now, in red, he's hardly capable of striking a volley. Clearly it is a confidence issue, there is no way that he'd just forget how to hit a ball properly and I would think that if he knew what kind of runs to make (against the same oppositions mind you) and when to make them last year, he'd easily be able to do it this year. I'm not sure what it is, be it the pressure, or the players around him, or whether he's got a fitness problem, whatever it may be, he's shown that he has the capability.

Anyone who doesn't believe that, I think should take another look at his goals for Newcastle last year. If only he could start recreating those performances for us, we wouldn't need another signing, not now and not in the summer. Obviously has his ways to go given his problems on and off the field, but even though he hasn't even shown anything near a glimpse of it, he's capable of a lot on the pitch.
