The worry would be whether the owners would consider it to be a good season, based on Henry's comments.

If there are people out there who thought we played very well yesterday then they were watching a different match to me and many others.

They might have been watching a different match but at least they could fucking read.  We're talking about Swansea lad.  Fucking hell it's not that hard to follow is it?

They grew into the game, the longer the game went on the more confidence it gave Swansea they could get something even 3 points.

Insert - Norwich, Sunderland etc

Reoccurring pattern. We have a problem and it isn't "unluckily" hitting the wood work/having goals disallowed

Will be interesting to see how many Liverpool fans wishing him and Chelsea well, will be doing the same if he comes for Suarez, Lucas

Is that really where we are. :(

Someone say something to make it all better.

1. We are Liverpool. Having drawn with Norwich and Swansea we'll beat Chelsea and City. That's the way we are, amke the easy look difficult and the difficult look easy!!

2. Carra has missed 2 games which have both ended with clean sheets. The Anti-Carra mob (of which I'm not a member) will be doing cartwheels.

Can't think of any more positives at present.

It's certainly not good enough to compete in an area, which when we play teams like Swansea at home will probably have at least three opposition players up against them.  It's not just those two in isolation though they don't get enough support from Downing and Henderson.  The bright spark of course is that in the little glimpses we have seen it looks like the Gerrard, Lucas, Adam triumvirate is one that will work.

Have Carroll , Henderson , Adam and Downing done enough to deserve to be picked over , Kuyt , Maxi , Spearing and Bellamy regardless of there outlay ?.

I can understand why Kenny persists with this policy , but no one can honestly say that we look a better side with them right now . Better squad and potentially better side YES, but how many more points can we afford to drop while we wait to see any improvement ?

It isn't necassarily great players that brings a winning formula, its a great team.. we have the tools to be a good 'team', good attitude, commitment, desire, togetherness etc. Plenty of plus points, but if we want to be near the top dogs we have to be more clinical and be far more consistent at home.

I thought we lacked quality out wide and Reina was the busier keeper until the last 10 minutes.

I thought both keepers made some excellent saves yesterday. Pepe busier I'm unsure of but he had to make some telling saves as did their keeper.

Carroll scores early on and we win, he didn't and like the recurring story that we are at home, we bemoan our luck.

My heart fucking sank when Henderson finished the half as a left-winger, and Kuyt was shifted over there after being on the pitch 15 minutes. Not rocket science is it...

Have Carroll , Henderson , Adam and Downing done enough to deserve to be picked over , Kuyt , Maxi , Spearing and Bellamy regardless of there outlay ?

Have they done enough to be selected -
Carroll over Kuyt? Yes. His effort, work rate have been good, he wins a lot in the air, he has scored a few goals - it was a terrible miss yesterday but he is a better option than Kuyt.
Henderson over Maxi? No.  He is young and needs to be eased into games - and to play in the centre
Adam over Spearing? ... hmm... possibly not... Adam has done alright, some great passes, but I think we suffer with his lack of contribution.  I'd give Spearing a go.
Downing over Bellamy? No, he should be dropped on form.

Yet again yesterday we were over run in midfield. Thats happened at every home game this season. Yes we have missed chances and should of picked up more points but we just dont look like dominating a match for 90 minutes or the large part of it.

What has started to bug me in recent weeks is the reluctance to make changes from the bench when things are not going according to plan. Apart from Kuyt at HT yesterday we either make a change giving a player little or no time to make an impact. Downing was having another shocker yesterday and we have Maxi on the bench. Strange that. I wouldnt mind but our subs dont even warm up during the second half. Bellamy came on with 15 to play and the subs stayed in the dugout after that.

Interesting that it was only when Kuyt came on that we started putting some decent moves together and looked like we were attacking.

If Andy had put that sitter away in the first half then I think it would have been comfortable. The crowd were as quiet as I've heard them - can't really remember anyone singing anything at any time (Apart from about half way through when the Swansea fans were rightly taking the piss out of the silence - when there was a half-hearted "Liverpool.. Liverpool.."

Maybe the idea Liverpool had of offering the tickets to the fan club members and more Season Tickets to previously armchair fans has backfired a little. In the past I think you'd get more people getting the odd ticket here and there as money and circumstances allowed - but now with that club and Season Tickets filling most of the free tickets, it's led to more different types of fans appearing - those in awe of coming to the ground and sitting in silence. If it continues like this then I'm less bothered about moving grounds because there is little to no atmosphere at Anfield this season.

But to be fair it's been getting worse season on season. Waiting for the team to 'do something' before you offer your support is a little naff really.

Henderson and Downing (particularly Henderson) contributed nothing yesterday. Carroll tried hard but it was harder to hit the fucking bar than score with that chance but somehow he managed it.

Dalglish is persisting with the new signings whereas Kuyt / Suarez works really well and Maxi has better movement than downing.

Adam is slow but does contribute to the team, Johnson - for me - should be second choice right back behind Kelly.

The only tactical ploy we seem to have is switching Downing and Henderson to opposite wings and making substitutions late in the game.

We are a decent side but on present form I don't think we are top four or CL capable.

Yes maybe.

The tempo is too slow and predicatable. We have a great ball playing CH in Agger and i lost count of the times Adam came and took the ball off his and Skertels boot yesterday. No movement and no opiton to receive the ball so we either go back wards or side ways.

Man United?

That was different though. Manchester United came with a 4-5-1 and little to no adventure. They only really went forward once in the game (After we'd scored) and equalised. They just sat back and soaked most of the game (With the odd little flurry here and there)

So with five in midfield they should have overrun is even more easily. No?  Particularly as they packed that midfield with workers and harriers like Park.

No because we were pretty much playing 4-5-1 as well ( I know we were supposed to be playing 4-4-1-1 but we just weren't)

They came to cancel us out and they did (For the most part)

Man United?

They dominated large chunks of the game and we were happy to sit off and let them do it. Were to slow are closing teams down. We wait for the opposition to make a mistake and loose possesion rather than us pressing and closing down. We are not mobile enough in the middle of the park and lack of pace from Adam and Lucas worries me.

We are not going to overtake Man City and Man United so we are going to have to get past Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle to maintain a third or fourth place.

Some of the players we have are below average and do not deserve to play for a team like Liverpool.

They just are not good inaff...that's all.

Since Meirelles left we don't have a midfielder technically gifted.

Somebody have to teach Liverpool to buy players who know how to play football and hold a ball.

I wonder who was responsible for buying players like Carrol,Henderson,Downing  and Adam...

To be fair I thought their passing was streets ahead of ours at times. Something not lost on Kenny from what I've heard about in his post match interview and at times we were the 'harriers' a position we shouldn't really of been in, with all due respect to Swansea.

And you're both wrong.

Its not about being right or wrong its an opinion. Our midfield did not dominate the United game or any other that i have seen this season. United, kept us at arms length.

The facts are there to see. Swansea had more possesion than us in the first half. We stand off and watch and let the opposition grow in confidence. We are to happy to let teams come on to use and were to slow to counter attack as we cant move the ball quick enough.

Yesterday at Silent Anfield ( what happened to the so-called Singing Section? ) we were out passed by a promoted side.

If you've been watching the league much this season, it was obvious that Swansea were going to come at us and that they play good football. Newly promoted they may be, but they are a more settled side than us at present. We are a work in progress.

We have dropped points at home but again if you haven't noticed no one is really flying at the moment (Except Manchester City) so it's all still to play for.

We create more chances than any other team in the league at present and once people get more consistant and the bad luck affecting the finishing declines then we are in a decent position. How many times have teams been brilliant up to Christmas and then fell away? Dunno how long you've been watching us but we traditionally are shite before Christmas (With very rare exceptions) - there is 3/4 of the season to play for. Bit silly giving up now. We are going to continue to gel and improve and we are going to start putting our chances away sooner or later.

Even though we were largely shite yesterday we still could have won the game. We need to take our chances but the overall play is good.
Football has reached the ninth gate of farce and pathetic, unbelievable trite nonsense. It's supposed to be a game and it's turned into pantomime, hype, quilts and bellends.

Clearly you and Andy went to different games :D
And you're both wrong.

I was fuming after the Manchester United game - I actually though that Kenny got it completely wrong. Ferguson was shitting himself that he would be on the end of 4 straight losses at Anfield and just came to defend. If we'd played our normal game we would have twatted them - they were so clearly there for the taking. Their defence is as bad as I've ever seen it. Criminal that we didn't pressure them more.

reina unconvincing again yesterday, unpopular to knock pepe hes a cracking lad and decent dservant but he aint top drawer, even if we got to a challenging  position hed let us down.

He spilt one shot yesterday and produced a fine save from the rebound. Modern balls move a lot these days so maybe a slight misjudgment but nothing over concering for me with Pepe.
The Liverpool way!!!

i think that reina aint great comment is a little stupid, he made a mistake against norwich and suddenly hes not very good!!top top keeper, no complaints with him whatsoever!!we have a few very average players in the team but pepe aint one of them!
