Has a very weak season so far though, could be because he knows he will miss the EC because he's not eligible yet. PL clubs however should note that he can't start for them until the 1st of September or else he would still not be eligible to play for Oranje.

How does that work?

How does that work?

Signed his contract for Twente in September all those years ago so for him to fullfil the full term he has to stay in Holland in August despite that competitions have already started, at least that's what I've been told. Curious part however is that he has already received his Dutch passport last year.

For anyone that is interested, Bas Dost the topscorer in Eredivisie with 28 goals is available for 7 mil. Earlier reports were hinting on 10 mil, but his agent has talked it through with Heerenveen and they've settled on 7. Ajax could've snapped him up for 3,5 last season, but we were too hesitant. He was feuding with his manager around that time and was on the bench a lot so FdB and co thought they could get him for cheaper.

Watch out for a young lad Gerard Deulofeu Lázaro, winger/Forward playing for Barcelona B, only 18 and has been called up to the barcalona team.. looks like a decent player.. fast, skillful. looks like real potential.

I have tended to see him used as a right-winger for the Spain youth sides, usually as the or one of the youngest player in the tournaments. He looks fantastic when he remembers there are other players on his side, good dribbler, makes the right runs, a good passer/crosser but hopefully knowing when to try something simple will come in time.

Wasn't too sure where to put this, thought I'd put it in here. But is anyone watching the Youth Cup Final right now? Chelsea are playing Blackburn, Chelsea are 2-0 up in the first half so far.

A couple of very impressive players on show here.

Stream for anyone that wants it: http://www.firstrowsports.eu/watch/119979/1/watch-chelsea-vs-blackburn-rovers-(u18).html

Best dribbler I've seen in a fair while. His end product though, last time I saw, was a bit rubbish.
I know what you mean. I really wish the Madrid born former Real Vallodolid, Osasuna, Tenerife, Extremadura, Valencia and Inter Milan manager stayed loyal and faithful to a foreign club that sacked him by never managing another club again. Burn him.

There's a couple of posts about him a page back, but that Alaba deserves another mention. Only the third time I've seen him now, but he looks incredible. And he's only just started playing at left back, right? The penalty was great as well. You can't help but think he'll go on to be a fantastic player if he can be one of the best players on the pitch (did anyone even notice Di Maria, or Özil when he moved out to right?), and hold his nerve when taking the first penalty, away to Real Madrid, in a champions league semi-final, at 19 (!) years of age. A shame that he can't play in the final.

PSV - Kevin Strootman
Twentee - Ola Johns

All look brilliant. I'd add Lazar Markovic & Dusan Tadic too

Quote
Ross Barkley
Midfielder, 18, Everton
His time in the first team spotlight has been brief, but it is not for nothing that Manchester United and Chelsea were considering bids of up to Ł30 million for this energetic and inventive midfielder. Lauded by former England and Everton centre-half Martin Keown as “one of the best players we’ll ever see in this country”, Barkley signed a new contract last month and seems set for Premier League stardom.

Fuck me! Anyone else fail to see anything remotely special about this lad? I know he's not had too many minutes but he looks pretty run of the mill to me.

Ive seen a lot of him at Acadamy level and he looks very good. He reminds me a lot of Gazza however I am very surprised he's not in there side already.

I don't know how he's been getting on with the 1st team or what involvement he's been getting but I would of expected him to have stepped up by now.

I also read something about Tim Cahill saying he's the best young player he's played with.

Strootman is a fantastic CM but just moved to PSV so I'm not sure they will sell him so soon. L'equipe reporting PSG are after Belhanda and will pay up to €20mn for him...can't see Belhanda choosing us ahead of PSG (he has said he prefers to stay in France) though I dunno why paris need him given they already have Pastore and Menez.

They have bought Mertens, Strootman, Wijnaldum et al because they know those players represent huge resale value. They won't shy away from selling those players after the one season. I think we all know how they got those players in the 1st place so with that in mind a sale of one or more of those players would make sense.

That Frei kid playing for Fulham looks really promising. Has pace and technique, and is only 18. He was superb against us, but I've been watching him the whole season. Has put in some immense performances, I for one have been really impressed by him.
We've won the league, we've won the cup, we've been to Europe too!

One day, people will hopefully look back and say "I was there son. I was there the year that Spurs won nothing again."

His best performance was against Chelsea when they held a 1-1 draw when they could of won. He ran Ivanvoic ragged for 80 minutes that they had to take him off and bought on Paolo Ferriera who I forgot even played for them and he wore that stupid face mask (zorro-esque) and ran him ragged.

I approve of your eye!
