So relieved we got the 3 points. And a clean sheet for Pepe too!

Very disappointed with our performance though. We really need to play better than this.
Oh well that's for another time. I'm going to celebrate first! :scarf

Pulled an all-nighter here in California to watch this. Disappointed and nervous in the first half, 2nd comes along and more of the same then Gerrard and Bellamy on to save the day!! Don't know how I'll be getting any sleep now. Great result, in the top four. Perfect start to the Saturday and to October.

When all you can hear on the LFC commentary is the owl-like hooting of Everton fans, you can't help but smile.

My dream was mostly correct - Carroll and Suarez both scoring, clean sheet kept, penalty saved. The only inaccuracy was my anticipated Downing goal. In a fortnight I will take all sorts of happy drugs and predict a Manc slaughter at Anfield. We're on a roll, baby!

Great result, poor match, average-ish performance.

Hot out there today - seemed like a sensible move to introduce the pace of Gerrard and Bellamy with half an hour left.

Fucking awful dive by Tim Howard.

Luis speaks english in the post match interview - well in lad!

Onwards and upwards.
She'd say, "Would you stop naming nuts!" And Hubert used to be able to make the sound, he couldn't talk, but he'd go "rrrawr rrawr" and that sounded like Macadamia nut. Pine nut, which is a nut, but it's also the name of a town. Pistachio nut. Red pistachio nut. Natural, all natural white pistachio nut.

Good result not the best of performances. Until Gerrard and Bellamy came on it was very noticeable that we lacked guile going forward from midfield. Downing has so far flattered to deceive. The mercurial Adam it seems can only last half a game! I mean can we afford such luxury? Thank god Gerrard is back and chuffed for Andy who did not have the best of games but then again the service to him was shocking. Drenthe looks a good prospect.

This club has been calling out for a decent pacey winger, Downing doesn't do enough for me. He hides too much, doesn't demand the ball and often will play the safer ball rather than trying to take player's on. When you have him on one wing and Henderson on the other we have hardly any outlets going forward out wide.

Great result but no signs that our laboured, pedestrian midfield is improving. Disgraceful sending off changed the game.
In Holland, they don't say they are developing players - they say they are developing future coaches.

Got lucky with the sending off, which completely turned the game in our favour, but it's not Suarez's fault the ref is a dick.

Still made hard work of it but got the job done.

Get in Andy!!!

Wasn't a red card in my opinion, however some of Evertons other challenges were and didn't get anything. So balanced itself out.

Not a very good game but the three points are all that matters. Lucas, Enrique and Kelly are probably the only ones that played well but I´m really happy for Carroll and it´s good to that composed finish from Suarez despite him never really getting going. Now, if we can only do something about those posts and bars..

Brilliant! Performance was good and bad in parts, but the most important thing is the 3 points. Think our defending was better than it has been as well. But by far the better team.

not the most convincing at times but didn't panic and stuck to our game plan.
still look like a team that hasn't gelled yet but we have the players and it will come.
delighted for the big lad, might ease the pressure on him a bit.
thought Kelly had a good game despite dubious Marty Pellow haircut.
highlights: Dirks awesome dummy, young bluenose girl in the crowd crying, cool finish by Luis,
3pts in the bag ta very much.

The red was harsh, yes, but it's about time some luck came our way.

Was a bit disappointed with us not really capitalising on the sending off, in the first 20 mins of the 2nd half but then we improved immensely. Perfect tonic before the United game in 2 weeks time. :)

Great finish from Carroll today too.
