Was pretty rubbish tonight!

Agreed, the 2 episodes before were far better. Didn't feel like a lot actually happened in tonight's, and there weren't as many laughs.

Any episode of any show that is filmed in a different location than normal is usually disappointing.
So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

Yeah it wasn't great last night. I am starting to find some of the characters a bit annoying, they all seem way too intense all the time for a bunch of 18/20 year olds.

Seen all the episodes. Almost all the characters are absolute dicks one way or the other. None of them are actually that, likeable. Josie pisses me off the most though, so many double standards.

Jack Whitehall as JP is surprisingly good though. I've never liked any of his stand-up stuff but he seems to be better in this sort of climate.

turned into a very good little series this.....really well acted, Welsh Josie is indeed a bag of contradictions..annoying but charming with it....Oregon is superbly played by Charlotte Ritchie (cute as fck too)... and have to say Jack Whitehall is an infinitely better comic actor than he is a comedian.......contrary to some of the views expressed above I actually thought the lastest episode (the London demo) was funny as fuck.......was in bulk at JP going native with the coppers  ;D

I think the slightly angst and sad angle along with the comedy worked well. Too much angst and it ends up like Skins and too much comedy then it turns into a less funnier version of The Inbetweeners, as the characters are not as likeable and funny.

i think its a step up from the inbetweeners which i think had great scrips but always wondered what it would be like it was cast in america.

in fresh meat i like the awkwardness of the different personalities.

the jock reminds me of nick frost's character in spaced and to an extent its the same program just recast for a different time.

what i like about it most is the ensemble performance when they're together in the house or the pub and could do with more of this rather than event episodes.

jp is an excellent character and the rest of them are both well drawn and familiar to anyone who's been to uni even if it was 20 years ago.

Absolutely loving this show. Strong characters are the maketh of good comedy, and this has two crackers in Howard and JP.

The second series has been commissioned. Boss.

It's not on this week but ep7 is up on 4OD.

It's become quite a good little series and Whitehall is definitely the funniest thing in it. Episode 7 is excellent, particularly:

i disagree actually. the reason american sitcoms have superseded their UK equivalent is that they have teams of writers well versed in the nuance of the characters.  its hard to right 'really funny' for a whole series if there's just a couple of people working on it.  there are of course exceptions but i think as the series evolves it will be interesting to see how they spin it out.  people go to uni for three years - four at most - unless they all do an MA or indeed PHD.  will this just run for three seasons?  will we follow the characters after college?  will jp get his own spin off series?  it all remains to be seen but have to say this is the best sit com i've seen since spaced, a series with which it has very obvious parallels.

Her character seems to fluctuate a lot - for the first few episodes she was just a bit of a layabout, then suddenly she's taking a load of Class A drugs and having an overdose.

Have to admit, Jack Whitehall really out me off even giving this show a chance, but did anyway, thankfully. He's actually really good, and you forget it's him you're watching.
