« on: September 2, 2011, 12:34:32 AM »
You ever been on one ? ....what car to get ?

was thinking of taking the missus on one (pay the excess-of course)  8).... Aston Martin may be too big,..Ferrari too fast... Porsche seems the best option,911 turbo or GT3
she's always moaning about my driving !! & she takes forever just to park in the supermarket' so I'm gonna surprise her with a driving day-experience thingy...
looked at 'Three Sisters Circuit' near wigan ?
Got any ideas.. about £100 each should do it.... (links to sites/courses would be great) ....North-West Lancashire

Did a Porsche track day at Silverston this year.   You've got the right car, they corner on rails etc.. and are bullet proof, as long as she doesnt load the shopping in the boot...

Check they've got the skid pans and donuts etc.. as that's half the fun, after you've blasted round the course a few times.

The best circuit to drive is Oulton Park and this link will help:

If you think that a Porsche corners on rails then you aren't driving it fast enough....... !

I did a Ferrari one a few years ago at seven sisters.

To be honest I only got 5 mins in a Ferrari 360 and the rest of the day was driving single seater Formula Fords. The Formula Fords were much more fun actually as they accelerate and corner better, and there is no instructor in the car with you obviously. They just let you get on with lapping round the circuit and its great fun, you even get to do a bit of overtaking (if you're fast enough!)

Seven Sisters is a pretty tight circuit so to be honest its not great for a big supercar like an Aston or a Ferrari.

You can have my Aston for a week.

I did one about a year ago at seven sisters, was really looking forward to it until they hand you the guides Which are basically 'you crash, you pay'. Ruined the day as while I wasn't planning on driving like a twat the thought of cornering a bit too hard, binning it and then having to hand over the life savings is a sobering thought. Won't be doing it again, you pay a lot of money and should be fully insured.
