hopefully we can get him off the books and if he does well in france it will increase interest in him. we need to get him off the books and save his wages for a better player. he showed nothing last season to say he is a keeper. i'd rather encourage some of our youngsters at this stage.

Not good enough for us, really? We've seen Charlie Adam being the major creative force in our midfield for 4 months and we'd dismiss Joe Cole, who is now fit and playing quite well?

He is so, so much better than Maxi. Not during last season, of course, but he's just a better footballer. I would sure give him a new chance here.

He was dogs hit early last season, but he's consistently said he fucking hated playing in Roy's system.

Cole and Aquilani should have definitely got a chance over here this season. They are playing really well for their respective clubs and I'm completely sure they would be an amazing addition. I fear we'll never see neither of them in a red shirt anymore

With Aquilani in we wouldn't be needing anymore central midfielders and Shelvey and Henderson would have the proper time to adjust themselves. Charlie and Gerrard wouldn't have to play so often, especially the former. Joe Cole could very well fill in Maxi's position, even though we're gonna need some big investments in wingers.

So what about Joe Cole back for next season? When he went to lille I was hoping he would be part of a deal for hazard. Obviously that won't happen now so if he's played himself back into form, why not take him back? I bet he could link up well with Suarez and be a great bench option, especially when resting Gerrard. We're still paying half his wages after all. Thoughts?

Doubt there's any chance he'll come back. What this loan will have done is increased his potential price tag.

Wouldn't be surprised if Lille kept him or, if they're promoted, West Ham pay to bring the prodigal son home...

I'm actually quite annoyed Joe Cole is doing well at Lille. Firstly we're paying half his wages and getting none of his goals. Secondly there is no chance in hell that Lille are going to sell us Hazard so I don't care about being best buds with them anymore. Thirdly it was unanimously decided on RAWK that Cole was shit and always had been so how dare the little scamp prove us wrong.

Normally plays left in the front 3 of a 4-3-3 for Lille, and on the right for Belgium. But yeah, he's basically a very quick winger who is great on the ball as well. I'm not sure how often he plays centrally to be honest, but I have heard that a lot of people see him playing in that central attacking midfield role long term (similar to how Mata has moved inside for Chelsea when they use a 4-2-3-1).
