Not only that but some of the transfer rumours in my save are very much to the one accurate to the ones floating around nowadays, Skrtel to City... not necesarilly happening though cause I slap huge price tags ;)
In the summer of 2012, Arsenal signed Giroud, M'Vila and Podolski in my game  :o

Is it me or are FM scouts getting scarily more accurate each year?

In my FM2010 game when I became manager on Liverpool Rafa left me with a squad including Jordi Alba and Mario Götze. Genius on the game as well as in real life!
This is a Liverpool forum. We are not talking about Demba Ba's cock.

My feet are wet but my cups are bone dry! Everything's comin' up Milhouse!

Just agreed a deal for Lacina Traore, he'll sign in January. I've never had him before but he looks quality and is still young. Anyone ever have him?
Let us never forget Rafael Benitez and what he did for us. A fighter full of guts and passion. A gentleman full of class and dignity. A football manager full of intelligence and pure genius. A Legend.
Adios Rafa, buena suerte.

Started a game as West Brom, currently 11th after 20 games but annoyingly out of both cups already.I've drawn 9 out of the 20 league games which have all followed the same patterns;either I let in an early goal(or two) and then dominate the 2nd half and equalise or I go 1 up,miss a load of chances and let in a goal which is always around the 75th minute.I've been playing a 4-2-3-1 but whenever I play a half decent side I get outplayed, anyone have a decent formation for an average enough side? My weakest spot is the defence, the Full backs;Reid,Jones and Ridgewell,Shorey are shit and the centre backs are;Olssen(good stats but plays poorly),Tamas(average),Dawson(young) and McAuley(shit). The midfield is decent enough and upfront Long and Odemwinge are good if inconsistent finishers.I'm just gonna try and finish as high as possible this year and then rebuild the squad, luckily a lot of players are out of contract which will help.

Bought him in my Cardiff save, just sold him to Inter for a 3m profit after one season. He's very inconsistent, but in the first half of the season he got something like 15 goals in 12 appearances and then went a bit shit from thereon.

How can I draw with Bristol City 2-2 then, by throwing a couple of kids in for the next friendly and changing nothing tactically, smash FC Bayern 5-0?  Game bloody baffles me sometimes.

Best thing was a Salford-born striker joining my Liverpool team on FM. He scored 73 league goals in 38 games and smashed a hat-trick past his local team in the Champions Leauge final.

Half way through my second season with Vittesse. Us and PSV fighting for the league again (Ajax midtable again!). Just beat them 2-0 to go six points behind after a winless december where I got knocked out of the europa league as well. Gylfi just joined for 6 million and hoping to conclude a couple more freebies for the summer. Loan them for this season then get them for free. Wilfried injured for another month so need a striker. Acquafresca my number one target because Cavenaghi is playing poorly atm.

edit: training and youth facilities have just been upgraded and the stadium is being bought by the summer. Really enjoying this save. If I get the league title, hoping for a big summer budget after last years weak one!

That was close, nearly lost 3 of my star players in the transfer window!  Hate how so many players have release clauses.  Managed to steal my star left winger in the last window for £21m, a few months later he's already £27m at Real Madrid.  If only I could get his replacement uninjured for a game...

Carragher and Gerrard have just retired on my game. I had them both as player/coaches so they have continued on as just a coach now. My question is - will their coaching stats improve as time goes on? Because neither of them are particularly useful to me.

They're both 4 star coaches for me. Carragher on coaching and Gerrard on attacking I think.

Carragher retired in summer 2014 from memory, Gerrard's just (Aug 2016) announced that he'll retire next summer.

Funnily enough you aren't the only one, I do it too. I regularly delete several saves leaving one or two because I start too many saves!

Enjoying my Vitesse save atm, just won the Eridivisie. A £5m budget was not what I was expecting but I double that with player sales and signed Savic and Kolarov. Got the 5m still left and about 4 or 5 players to shift on. Need to do it swiftly as my wage budget is very high and over limit!

And the twatting board cancelled buying the stadium due to lack of funds even though all seasons he's pumped in 20m here and there into the club's 'coffers'.

Gerrard is a four star attacking coach for me with World Class reputation.

Carra is the manager of Millwall, took them up and put them mid table last time I checked.

Anyone ever been an International U-21 manager? How does that work with national team - do you have to follow set team formations if national manager wants that? I assume the national manager chooses players first then you.

Just become Hungary U-21 manager, so could be interesting.

Got a bit bored of my Wigan save. Originally started my career with Reading and got them up straight away with a late surge up to the top of the league, finishing 2nd (might have won the league actually). Brought them up, and was given fuck all to work with, finances were terrible despite me keeping within wage budgets and such. Decided to play dire football first season, 5 at the back stuff, and then I'd build next season once we stayed up. Lost something like 8 out of the first 9 games, drawing the other. Decided to resign there and then, as couldn't see us going anywhere. Spent that season out of football (set my experience to Sunday League so not many people were interested). Following summer newly relegated Wigan approached me with a decent bit of money and a good squad. Took it and essentially first order of business was keeping players. In the end sold Moses and McCarthy (not as good as I thought they would be), but keeping Boselli was the best thing I've ever done. He's a machine. Played a 4-3-2-1, with 3 central midfielders and two inside forwards. Dominated the league, scoring a silly amount of goals, with strategy set to attacking all the time.
Got promoted there, so decided not to make the same mistake and play football the right way this time in the Premier League. Kept things the same and we ended up finishing 7th! (Also reached quarter finals of Europa League having qualified through reaching Fa Cup final whilst in the Championship). On to current season and I made some great signings, Breno and Balotelli on a free along with other super regens. Can't win for shit. Ridiculous.

I'm really starting to get annoyed with the way reserve football works in this game. I've just lost one of my Championship feeder teams, which means I haven't been able to loan out all of my good young players like I usually do. I tried to get a replacement, but the board said no. I still have a couple of youngsters stuck with me because nobody will take them, despite the fact that they were easily the reason for the lost feeder team winning promotion and my other feeder team doing well in the play-offs.

To make it even worse, the coaches in charge of the reserve team (and I've tried them all) will not play them. It's baffling as to why they are never selected. My potential 4.5 star striker who scored goals for fun against strong teams in pre-season doesn't even make the bench sometimes, and it's not as if he is competing for a place against anybody decent either. Is there anything I can do apart from taking charge of the reserves myself? I have no room for them in the first team.

I remember in FM11 it was possible to play around with reserve team tactics, and even though 'pick reserve team line-up' was never an actual feature of the game, it was still possible to do it.

My Hoffenheim game is really enjoyable so far. Got third position in my first season mainly thanks to Sigurdsson and Kara. An 18 year old Erick Torres got some of the goals too which was great.

Second season I brought in an new left back in Martin Olsson from Blackburn amongst a couple of others including Lacina Traore. Came first in the league, final to the German Cup but losing to Bayern and got put out of the Champions League by Man City 1-0 in the first knock out round.

Third season I got 28 million to spend, and spent it all on Pastore for 20 million up front and 24 millon over 48 months (who was listed for loan for some strange reason in the PSG reserves) and Huntelaar. I top the league at Christmas by one point but have drawn Barcelona in the CL.

Chris Riggott. Quite the defensive coach in 2016. Who'd have thunk it?

I'm Newcastle at the moment. As I have been from the start. Operating very shrewdly in the transfer market if I say so myself.

Papiss Cisse is amazing on this game. Trying to phase him out for Carlos Fierro now though. My side:

Courtois
Vrsjalko* Rami Chalobah Santon
Labyad FelipeAnderson
DeBruyne Piatti Sturridge
Fierro

Other notable squad players: Erick Torres, Papiss Cisse (of course), Dirk Kuyt (on a free - exceptional stats still!), Guiseppe Prestia, Roberto Firmino.

I'm so confident in the young players in my squad, I generally fuck any senior player off that wants a wage hike.

Coloccini, Ben Arfa, Jonas Gutierrez, Demba Ba all fucked off.

Edit: forgot to mention, my one and only achievement to date has been a Europa League win. Struggled to get them higher than 6th. This year might be the year I break into the Champions League. 8)

There's an update for that.*  If you have got it you have to restart your game and start a completely new save for changes to take effect.  I got mine through steam so it downloaded automatically, if you play through the disk you may have to search for the patch.

Having a really enjoyable save.

Started with England in 2011. Won Euro 2012, runner-up in the Olympics and 2013 Confed Cup. Knocked out in the last 16 of the WC 2014, and the QF of Euro 2016 and quit. After 2012, a reporter asked me whether winning "was the pinnacle of my role, and whether I saw any point in staying on." I dismissed them, but with hindsight they were probably right...

Got offered the job (somewhat surprisingly I thought) by Real Madrid. Built a wonderful attacking team and ended Barce's dominance, picking up back to back La Liga/Copa Del Rey doubles. Ronaldo was phenomenal, and I'm still not sure how I didn't win a CL.

Didn't think I could improve the team, so quit for Bayern Munich, who had finished 8th. Rebuilt their team and won the German league. Found it a bit boring though, so left. Spent a year out of the job, then was offered England in 2020. Took them to the World Cup and made the final, before guttingly losing 2-0 to a ridiculously strong Brazil team.

Quit again as most of the team were about 30 and the quality coming through wasn't so hot. Got offered Juve which I was very happy with, after being turned down for the Liverpool job for Ancelotti. Juventus had only won 1 title in 7 years but I rebuilt their team and bagged Serie A by a long way. No real budget to improve any further, fuck all attendances. Packed it in.

Now unemployed in 2023. Really want Barce, Madrid or Valencia in Spain, or Liverpool. Just read that Ancelotti is retiring at the end of the season, so may enjoy a year long holiday until then...

Still happy with my first 12 years - One European Championship, Olympic and World Cup runners-up. 2 La Ligas, 2 Spanish Cups, 1 Serie A and 1 Bundesliga.

Been taken over now, pretty sure the chairmans names is Hoeness or something like that. Anyways, he comes in and says theres no money for transfers. Im either1st or 2nd in the league, quarters of the LC and still in the EL Group Stage. Hopefully he'll give me some cash in January. Ajax want 23 mil for Suarez and i fully intend to get the Uruguayan shoulder biting racist bastard*.

Shane Long has 31 in 24 games for West Brom in my 2nd season. :)

Oscar Cardoza on 19 in 14 too.

Is there a better player to buy for £1m at the start of the game than Jennssen? Class act

This game doesn't half fucking wind me up.First game of the season draw 2-2 away to Norwich who scored both goals from corner kicks, which is even more annoying because I spent ages making sure I had my marking from corners right and had "Defending set-pieces" in match preparation  on high for the whole of fucking pre-season.

Is there anyway I can complain about Ref's constantly playing over the amount of added time announced? 2 minutes injury time, and I concede in the 94th minute? Sound.
