I've not really seen him play, but from what i've heard he's great. 6 mill. sounds like a good figure too. Now we don't have to break out in a sweat every time the club announce Aurelio is out for 5 weeks  :o

As SG, GJ & Skrtel are all injured, Enrique hasn't had time to time to train/settle in with the squad and if Suarez is ready to go - for the Sunderland game :

                                Reina
         Kelly          Carra    Agger        Fabio

                       Lucas        Adam
                              Aquilani
    Suarez                                          Downing
                                Carroll

When all available :

                                Reina
         Johnson     Skrtel    Agger        Enrique

                                Lucas
                      Aquilani     Gerrard
    Suarez                                          Downing
                                Carroll

Except Aquilani , thats a decent line up.
I say that because he aint gonna be first choice.

.... People are still asking for a centre half, and I can see why, but I wouldn't mind giving Kelly a fair go at that position........... he is a centre back by nature.........

No he isn't.   It amazes me the number of people who think Kelly is a centre-back.

Over the past two years, Kelly has only started 2 games for the reserves and one game for the first team at centre-half.

Wisdom is a much more experienced player at centre back than Kelly, who is an excellent attacking right back.  Both should go on to achieve success, but in their correct positions.

I must say, after reading a (most likely biased) article about Comolli and having initial reservations when he came in about what kind of players he would bring in, he's done a fucking excellent job.

Kuyt won't be dropped. Suarez will play a free role behind Carroll and Kuyt will take up the right side.

Those days are gone as IMO we have better options on the right now : Hendo / Suarez & even SG.

However,  those were just formations that I'd like to see but with the competition we have now for most positions - The King has a large number of options and a squad of quality players to choose from.

Feels good to be able to say that.   8)

I hope not, as much as I like Dirk as a striker by playing him on the right & sacrificing a centre midfielder we're limiting the team. Downing & Suarez are both better on the ball, more creative, quicker & all round better at playing that role than Dirk is. They both work their fucking nuts off aswell so don't bring that out that tired old excuse.

It's about time Dirk had to fight for his place as opposed to being a shoe in. When he's good he's great but there's been far too many occasions when he's had a shocker or been on an absolutely stinking run & still kept his place in the team. Hopefully those days are well & truly over.

Put in Agger instead of Skertl and that'll pretty much be our best XI.

Kuyt was less than poor against Valencia. Should definitely be backup striker to Suarez + Carroll.

Thought Kuyt looked very dangerous, much moreso than Henderson did out on the right. He also scored, as usual.

"New CB" > D Wilson

not to moan....but i do think Wilson is good and we should really give him a go at CB. he is solid for scotland and i think he should be fine for us.

that said, i am not the "King" who sees them in training every day.

whatever, you say KK!!

Saved me the bother, the only game he didn't really impress me in was the Valencia game but that was more because we kept smashing the ball 10 feet over his head. People wetting themselves over Adam but can't see the wood through the trees when it comes to Aquilani.
