If someone can sit down and talk calmly about Kenny's failings I'll listen.

What is really irritating me is the frankly shocking disrespect shown by some to him. The lads on TAW have shown you can have a reasonable, sensible grown up discussion about it without some of the stuff I've seen this year. The final outcome being that most of us are stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea.

If the unthinkable happens, the next appointment is key. So please - take some time Mr Henry & Mr Werner.

The idiots from outside of the club can honestly take a running jump. You don't have any input on this matter and are not even nearly qualified to pass judgement on what Liverpool fans want. Go and write about Ingurland and The Hodge.

It's partly that very reason I read almost nothing on this side of the forum. There is for a start far too much going on with different conversations, listening to the Wrap with time to take it in is a great help with those who are pretty well respected from across different means as supporters. It's open minded and gives you a thought to one you might not have had before, even if some is not nice to hear.
I mentioned above in regards to the age of the supporters as the older lads I know, vast majority are fully behind having him stay whilst a few younger lads first name on their lips is Rafa.
Whatever the outcome, the next few days will answer a lot of questions, that much is true. We just have to ignore the media, like most of us already see through.

What happened to the King Kenny thread it seems to have disappeared?

It was full of fucking shite. Sad that some muppets have to spoil it for the rest.

For the record, we are happy to discuss Kenny and his position on here but will not stand for the shithouse rumours doing the rounds on Twitter and the like.

Fantastic. Very bold podcast and utter quality.

I want to point something out in terms of our lack of planning. The Lucas injury- a few people have used that as a stick to beat Kenny with, saying that we've had no plan and been unable to adapt since.

In 2005/06, we went into the season with Hyypia and Carra as center backs and noone else as cover bar Djimi Traore. Had any one of our center backs gotten a Lucas style injury, we would have been fucked beyond belief.

You cant plan for every eventuality, nor can you adapt if your backup player is a lot worse than your first 11 player. See how Rafa struggled with Torres injured and how Ngog was hoisted in way above his head several times.

In 2005/06 Rafa signed Agger in January though mate.

Agree on that last point - I would say Rafa didn't want Ngog as first back up to Torres just like I'm sure Kenny didn't want Spearing as first back up to Lucas. But the difference is Kenny spent enough money last summer thanks to owners on the same page to have got a quality back up in.
If you're visiting Crete this year, Greece or any of the Greek islands please take a minute to visit this website www.findstevencook.co.uk and learn about a good Red who needs your help. Thank you

Yeah thats the difference. We spent £6 million in January getting him from Bronby. A bargain.

We don't know if the tap was turned off in January on transfers after last summer!

Really look forward to the podcast every week but I seem to have a problem getting this one to play on my ipod. I have downloaded it twice now from my usual itunes link but every time I play this episode it just switches off and resets my ipod.
Any advice would be welcome, cheers in advance.
Hopefully theyll get round to doing Pretty Woman n all,and actually put a pretty woman in the lead role instead of Julia Roberts. She looks like picasso's tried drawing a horse with his feet

Very same thing happened to mine, mate

When I tried to play this on my ipod, after 10 seconds the ipod shat itself and powered down and back up again. Repeated a few times, sync'ed it a few times, but no joy. (Strangely it was just after Neil said 'We need to talk about Kenny' as if it said to itself 'la, la, la, I'm not listening')

Played perfectly fine on iTunes and all my other podcasts are working fine.

Really thought provoking pod, by the way.

I want to thank Neil and the others for yet again providing a rational calm and dignified response at this, yet again, shitty time as to what happens now. Just reading the understandable furore of emotion in here directly after the news, it's easy to be whipped up into a frenzy of dispare. I've just listened to radio city and it's calmed me down somewhat. The next podcast is going to be massive. I sincerely hope that the owners get to hear it.

I only caught a bit of it but Neil's last sentence was an extremely articulate and strong case for the club to at least sit and talk to Rafa about strategy & direction.

"We don't want any more foreigners after what happened with Houllier and Benitez". What utter drivel that was.

Is there a repeat of AW on talksport?
Liverpool manager Rafael Benítez admitted after the match that the manner of his side's victory had stunned him and he stated: "My problem is that I don't have words to express the things that I feel at this moment"

Nah Heaton is definitely assistant manager.  Kind of like Ten Cate to Atkinsons Rijkaard.  Heaton will scare the squad into shape.

Love the podcast.

Had just listened to Episode Forty-Two and then turned on the tv and wham, Kenny was sacked.

Bit spooky. Great debate though and presentation of both sides of the argument. Keep up the good work.
