Sorry Kris.

That's me, I had a tracheostomy for 14 years, sorry about that

Count yourself lucky it's now as opposed to when I sounded like Mr Roboto with my Electrolarynx

Hardly. Just find his comments rather biased and far too naive. He was talking about how we are a much better team then Everton ect, as if they are a side struggling to stay up.

Have to say the conversation about Tim Cahill was spot on. Just seems to slip under the radar as to how shit he actually is.

I don't think he's actually that shit but he's definately very limited. He was their most dangerous player by a mile when they had Arteta. Now they have nobody to give that sort of service he's become a liability.

Funnily enough after watching 24 minutes of Dalglish speaking, he may as well be a Dalglish mouth piece.

Sound this. People having a go now at Guttman for being too 'pro' LFC. On an LFC podcast.

Makes sense that. Be better if he waffled on endlessly about how shit we are and that there is no hope.

I think Rob is vital for the balance of the podcast though. I don't agree with everything he says but his optimism and leftfield opinions make it enjoyable nevertheless.

Spot on. For any debate to flourish you need people coming at a topic from different perspectives. I don't always agree with Rob like I do Neil but you want both approaches there so both sides have to state their case and have it questioned.  Otherwise you would have one polarised discussion with everybody in agreement. And it's good to hear from an older Red who can talk about how it was the first time round under Kenny and who witnessed our glory years.
If you're visiting Crete this year, Greece or any of the Greek islands please take a minute to visit this website www.findstevencook.co.uk and learn about a good Red who needs your help. Thank you

Spot on.

Ditto.

Thats the whole point of having a range of contributors. And in fact RG's opionions may be closer to the way the club is now being run than the uber-tactical Rafa style analysis offerd by the others. My personal views are closest to Andy Heaton's but I appeciate the diversity of opinion.

Hang the fuck on. Who's having a pop at Rob? It was nothing personal I just would rather a bit more to a discussion rather then " I didn't think we were that bad, we were just unlucky, the other team were shite". Sometimes you need to hold your hand up and say we were shite or the tactics were wrong or whatever. Fuck me, can't argue that the show needs different opinions and then turn around and say we're having a pop at Rob just because we have our own opinion.

Indeed.   And while trying not to be too dismayed by last Thursday's events, I couldn't help but agree with his "devil's advocate" position - I really hope some of this from the owners isn't as fly-by-night as it seems; them ripping up the current version of "the strategy playbook", only to possibly be in the same position a year from now.  We'll see.

Sexy voice to boot on Andy - don't know what some of you are on about!

Great job, fellas.  And looking forward to tomorrow's download - know you can't use the f word for the Thursday shows but am sure you'll find some other clever way of expressing the sentiment in relation to the Hodge.

With due respect, that's because probably because by the time the thing is out on the monday, you've probably already made your mind up. You'll have seen the match at least once, probably twice by that point. I'd be surprised if anyone expects someone on there to change their opinion (maybe that Sean fella who is coming at it from a managers point of view). People are looking to see their view backed up.

I might be way off on this as well, but I think you can tell with Rob Guttman that he's a little older than some of the others. There's some views on there - and these are the ones that sit perfectly on this forum - that are so obviously coloured by growing up (or growing to understand the tactical side of the game) with Rafa. There's one in particular I disagree with because I don't think the lad is looking for anything other than our football to be exactly how it was under Rafa. Either way, each to their own.

RG strikes me as being of a different generation, maybe Kenny first time around, and that's why he's trying to understand what Kenny's doing and trying to draw parallel's with that, rather than everyone else who I often get the sense are trying to draw the comparison between Kenny's tactics and Rafa's which is what they 'grew up' with.

Sorry to anyone on there reading this is if that's wrong, just the opinion I have when listening to it.

Why, who isn't supporting Kenny?

Nothing personal mate, not sure why your getting a cob on. RG has consistently supported Kenny throughout the season whilst his tactical nous has been consistently questioned by the rest of the gang. I love the podcast for its diversity and tend to side with Rob in his analysis and his 'rose tinted glasses' pov. I agree with Juan on the likely reasons for this. We all have our favourites on the show, Rob is mine. What's yer problem, mate?

Ah, I see what's gone on here. Reading back you took umbridge with Juan's post, took it personally and think I was supporting him. No, mate, it was a nod in support of Juan's view on why the tactical analysis on the show is usually critical of Kenny's approach, which is fine, and how Rob's defence of him is perhaps old school and more in keeping with my pov. Nothing personal at all.

Maybe it was your tongue in cheek comment about Kenny ?? cause some one may feel Kenny got it wrong and Rob just wants to hide it under carpet what would be point of the show if that's all that happens?

Guess that means they are not Kenny support! I have to wonder about some fans if they really do think they better supports cause they don't question the KING :butt

I never took anything as personal? Same way I wouldn't expect what I said of how I view Rob on the show as anything on personal. He seems a good fella, obviously has fantastic passion for the club which is fantastic. Different point of view and different opinion, everyone is entitled to them, so nobody should take anything personal. As for Juan Loco's post it was incredibly well put. Can't argue with it, just have a different opinion.

Anyway great show tonight, listening back, some of those Hodgson quotes are absolutely mental.

Who has mentioned that though mate? What I like about TAW is the diversity of views from across the fan base. There are many, many fans who hold the same views as Rob just as there are many who go down other routes.

I worry too about fans who patronise those who hold the more traditional view of being less inclined to question the manager, tactics, player transfers, fees, wages, finances, kits, owners et al with comments such as 'rose tinted glasses', 'sunshiners' etc. You do your thing and let others do theirs. Rob is our guy and I'll be fucked if I let him get coated for no good reason is all.

Anyway, boss podcast and thread, let's not derail it.

Anyway great show tonight, listening back, some of those Hodgson quotes are absolutely mental.

They were mental and played probably a bigger part in him losing the support.

I thought neil nailed it though on Johnson and the need for a top drawer center midfielder in the summer if we are to truely become a good team.
