Excellent.

Difficult to listen to, but great points. All argued well without being personal, and as insisted, kept respectful.

This.. Good to hear many of the points I've been mulling over along with many points which have been raised on rawk but possibly not in the measured way these boys articulate them...

So what are you walking at... And finally what are Liverpool playin at...wrll done neil, made me laugh, strapped myself in and see the tone for a difficult pod cast....

Think the use of kyut and maxi is needed, regardless of cups and the view that the league doesn't matter.. We have to arrest this fall in performances and results... We can't continue losing games....

Whatever rob g takes, to help with his optimistic view of life, I'd like to get my hands on...

It's gotten to the point where I am looking forward to the next podcast more than our next game.

Along with the League Cup, the Anfield Wrap is one of the highlights of the season.

I don't get out to the alehouse much these days to have the sort of discussion TAW provides. So thanks for making me think and rethink about my club.

Looking forward to this massively just getting a coffee and sitting down to 'enjoy' it now, I think the lad who said it was more like therapy is spot on.
If you'd told me in August 2012 that Benitez wins the Europa league, Moyes takes the reins at Man United, Wigan win the FA Cup and Jose wins fuck all, I'd have laughed you out the bar. :lmao

I've only just listened to it, brilliant as usual. Some sobering assessments of our current plight with a true legend.
I agree that Kenny must be allowed to be at the helm for the start of next season. Its unthinkable that he won't be and to be honest I don't think he'll be anywhere near considering his own position - not yet.

Interesting point that should we be in the fortunate position of winning the FA cup aswell, that Kenny may bow out and say time for someone else to take us to the next level. Heard that also mentioned in other places, but should we not win it, would he even contemplate doing so anyway?

Anyway, good work as ever, gave it a listen in work this morning.

Just wanted to say; brilliant podcast, I love to listen to it ... when I can hear it!

Is there anything that can be done about the sound?  It's always on the edge of my hearing with the highest setting if I'm anywhere other than a nice quiet room.

Thanks!

Personally compared to other podcasts the sound is as good as them, but the different headphones make such a difference. Couldn't hear it for shit through iPhone ones, got some decent Sennheiser in ear headphones and I don't even have to have it on full volume when in the car.

There was a bit in the last podcast when I definitely lost the sound in one ear. It was within the first 5 mins or so cos I had only just left the house.

Love the podcasts look forward to them (both!).

Also like the interesting article comparing our situation to that down the East Lancs a number of years ago.
http://www.theanfieldwrap.com/2012/04/stick-or-twist-a-lesson-from-history/

Be interesting to hear peoples views? Personally I think it provides some much needed perspective on where we are, it does fail to address whether we really do think some of our buys, Carroll, Downing, Henderson etc will grow to become good players, but never the less does show how we are all looking for instant success. I'm all for a bit of stability.

Re the discussion about why Clarke may need to produce a report, I'm ambivalent. Is it a standard performance review (which should perhaps be requested by Ayers anyway) or is it a bit more. Is it for an in-depth report on the coaching, tactics, fitness and other data collated each week and certainly after a game - and the subsequent decisions made following such analysis. If so who is going to read and evaluate it, and then what?

The lads are right to wonder why it came out recently, I wish I could dismiss it like them, I'm a bit uncomfortable about what its all about.

edit - in other words, would they determine if the data is of sufficient quality in the modern game and if so is it being used appropriately by the manager and coaches - or am I being paranoid and too trendy?

Just had chance to sit down and listen to this, you do make a good point about would all these problems be up at the moment if Liverpool was not flavor of the month. Although that is true to extent i still feel that its good these points are raised and iron out now, which will benefit us in long run special the point about us always fcking things up in PR department. We really need some one to analyzes the situation before hand and briefing Kenny so we stop shooting are self in foot each time.

But great listen to never the less  8)
Liverpool manager Rafael Benítez admitted after the match that the manner of his side's victory had stunned him and he stated: "My problem is that I don't have words to express the things that I feel at this moment"

1st time that i listened to the city one... Def cleaner but for some reason more focused? Thought without the swearing wed lose something ... But nah, we all good!

Interesting points, the most irritating thing for me is the continuing criticism or Concern over our pr, how we handle the media and how we help the manager... The same points have been raised during Rafas time to now... 2 different owners ... Problems still continue... I'm 50 50 on the end of season report news... Concern would be on Clarke specifically being named as pulling it together... Then again who else would you imagine would pull together? Possibly comolli? .. Thinking about it a little further you would probably want someone impartial pulling the report together... I'm leaning towards the media picking an easy predictable course of action for any club and sensationalising it due to our form.... But my paranoia rader is on alert....

The commoli role sprung up.. Valid questions on clarity of his role.... Time will tell and the inevitable next have to get it right transfer window .... Any system can work... But trust, clarity and responsibilty must exist between those parties in that system ...

1st single for me... Charles and Eddie " would you lie to me" on cd... I'll get my coat...

Must admit the villa "Fred west" line made me laugh....

Great point about new signings getting a wage increase before they've kicked a ball.
Surely a better system would be giving them an increase on the basis of how good a season they have.
I think some players come here and they think they've made it, and maybe loose some incentive.
