Joe Cole. No contest.

..replaced Paul Stewart at the top/bottom of the list...something I thought I'd never see

I think Frode Kippe must be up there. Houlliers second signing after Ferri.

Degen.
What is the United line-up?
Webb, Riley, Wiley, Clattenburg, Dean, Dowd, Atkinson, Friend, Mason, Halsey and Probert

Djimi Traore has won more European Cups than London :)

Diouf has to be the worst. Biggest prick, among the worst players, the least value for money a.s.o.
Remember we paid 9m£ and had to pay to loan him out (to eventually get rid of him).

Diouf.

The occasional spark of talent (very occasional) but mostly crap. He was also a horrible, nasty twat and an embarrassment to the club. Also, he cost us £10 million.

All those 'hardmen' and 'guvnors' we bought in the 90's to bring some steel to the team, but who usually ended up swaggering around the pitch, acting like the man and achieving fuck all - Dicks, Ruddock, Ince.

In terms of undelivered promise Joe is right up there at the moment. Free or not, we're still paying a shitload of money for him & you just know he got a nice little signing on fee aswell.

That's not to say he can't turn it around, he's still got time but I can't say I'm overly optimistic. The worst part is that we let Benayoun go & brought him in & everyone was lauding it as transfer market genius  :-\

Must admit i liked Ruddock you know. Not the greatest defender but scored goals and wasn't scared to put the boot in.

Heres a few others...

Nicky Rizzo, Mark Kennedy (another one that nearly scored on debut vs leeds and then career came crashing) Lee Jones and Scott Patterson?

He always did his best, but just didn't work out. So I don't agree with that. When players just give their all for the club and respect the club they shouldn't be in this list.  Only two players should come into this list in my opinion, because they are the only two players I loathed while they were at Liverpool: Charles Itandje for his Hillsborough mocking and El Hadji Diouf for being a twat.

If we're talking in purely football terms married to the scale of the investment we put in them then I'd say Diouf has long since been eclipsed by Robbie Keane. A truly awful "Prem-proven" signing that coincidentally coincided with the planned opening of a LFC store in Dublin.

Zenden was good for the time he was here, shame he got injured though.

Diouf. Biggest c*nt in football.

Diomede’s one moment of almost glory was at home to Sunderland by the way. It wasn’t the first game of the season, it was mid September I think. Finished 1-1 from memory.

Wasn’t he injured a fair bit at the start and then never really got a look in after that?

It’s hard to look past the usual suspects and I guess it depends what basis you’re judging on. The likes of Dundee and the ones who never really featured like Ferri and Kippe were obviously pretty terrible but were at least cheap. Keane and Diouf were big money signings who failed miserably so I guess that counts for more. Diouf especially really given his antics when he was here and the fact that there was so much relying on him due to the fact we passed up Anelka for him. Has to be the biggest disappointment.

Harsh on Lee. Had a couple of nasty leg breaks.

I'd still say Paul Stewart.

Evans from the Shankly era
Carter from the Dalglish first era
Dicks et all from the Souness screw up
Cheyrou, and most of his french underwhelming mates mates from the GED era
Voro, Degen,from the Rafa era.
All of them from Roy's era except Raul

But the outstanding winner for me  has to be Sean (run like a crocodile) Dundee

Put him ahead of Ferri sadly because we had more to judge him by! :wave

In terms of producing for the club, Im afraid it's Joe Cole.

I recall Diomede hitting the bar with a bicycle kick. Which elevates him over Cole in terms of producing.\

For sheer 'rubbishness', you gotta go with Walshy on this one.
Ferri was the pits.

Seriously? You've never heard of it? The fat twat has boasted about it on national TV. Instigated a "game" whereby the players would pass a pound coin between them, unbelievably during a game, and whoever was left with it at the final whistle had to get the drinks in afterwards. The epitome of the culture of unprofessionalism that was rife at the club at the time.

But they were NEVER any good.
Its almost like we've signed his slippery, deformed half-brother.
Not the Joe Cole that once tormented us.

In terms of that...you gotta say Cole stands out.
If we'd a paid for hjim it would be a no contest.
His wages alone put him in this motley crew.

In saying that, it wont take long for him to extricate himself from it.
And I hope he does.
