Try out a tuk tuk, but settle on a price before you get in 1.

Err, don't get one in Bangkok though - they will take you all round the city and charge you way more than agreed.

Was in Sharm el Sheikh in April/May, looking for something similar for end of October.

Doesnt look like Morocca or Tunisia get the weather.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Not always the case. I got chatting to a local fella at a bust stop when I was there. After teaching me some basic Thai phrases - and testing me on them - he then jotted down a list of places that he believed I should see (some of which weren't in the guidebooks) and then proceeded to flag down a tuk-tuk and arrange a fare with the driver to take to me to all of the places listed, which equated to about £2.00 for the entire day. The only thing was he took me to a couple of shops which meant he got a bit of commission. I wasn't fussed about that to be honest, he was a nice enough guy and the original fare was so low it was the least I could do.

That was tried on us! The fella told us where he would take us and for how much and when we finished a couple of hours later, we paid him the bill + tip and he wasn't very happy. I stuck to my guns. He gave me the price, I was happy with that price. Lesson learnt for him.

Cyprus usually still has pretty good weather that time of year. I've been in November before andf it's been mid 30s.

We had a bloke in Marrakech try to charge us more for a horse&cart ride "for the horses". We may not speak Arabic but we do speak French so that didn't get very far!

Well, sounds like that was all done and dusted for you. But that's an exception.

My hotel had a sign that said don't get any tuk-tuks; which I only noticed after a mad ride
where he was trying to take me anywhere but my hotel. I was even half hanging out ready to jump, and
giving him a few verbals.

I actually got offered the chance to drive a tuk-tuk, in (old) Delhi. I will admit to bottling it as well, not sure I was ready to try and negotiate those particular streets...

Looking to book something last minute for next week with a mate. Just 2 nights, 3 days city break somewhere in europe. Will be interested in some drinking, decent food, happy to just wander round on foot, lazing around in boozers/cafes etc. Based on price and where we've been before have narrowed it down to Bologna, Vilnius and Bruges. First two are flights obviously and so have ballache and added cost of getting to the airport in the morning. Bruges would be £140 return on the eurostar and much more comfortable.

Anyone been to any of them places?

Shocking isnt it! I sent it off check and send about 3 weeks ago, had to phone up again Tuesday and was told to fastrack it it'd cost £55! They had me bent over a barrel so I had no choice really, but luckily enough it arrived this morning.

Robbing feckers eh!

I wouldn't bother with Bologna. I mean, it's alright, but I wouldn't go back. I couchsurfed there last year and met some cool and interesting people one day while playing table football, but there's really not much there. Food wasn't as good there as I've had elsewhere in Italy, either. But then I was only there for two days and so it's entirely possible I just didn't have the chance to find the good places.

I've also heard Bruges is VERY boring, but I've not been myself.

Been to Paris / Copenhagen / Krakow / Rome / Venice / Barca over the years and would go back in a flash to any of those, if that helps?

Yeah their offers won't be any 'better' than what Disneyland themselves will give you, they're just reselling Disneys offers
